Hotel Lois

A good quality 2 star hotel with excellent location, many restaurants, cafes shops all in two steps. We ate at the hotel restaurant, was excellent. The waiter was super nice .

Just a note - The receptionist told us that walking the camino way from A Coruña to Santiago de Compostela is considered as qualified for 100Km and can get the Camino certificate when arrives in Santiago. But we checked with the pilgrims office in Santiago, we were told to start from A Coruña is ONLY applicable to local A Coruña residents. All others must start from Ferrol otherwise no certificate… haha. Be careful when giving advice…

Very clean and very nice staff. Location is really great. Breakfast was a very good value.

A few small areas for improvement: no refrigerator in room, but you can ask staff to put your items in the restaurant’s kitchen refrigerator; hot water is extremely hot and can surge when you’re showering so you have to make adjustments and be aware; room walls are thin, but guests were mostly quiet; only Nespresso machine in room, would have preferred an electric kettle for tea.

Very central location for a walking holiday around the city. Housekeeping was impeccable, the whole hotel looked newly decorated so well was it looked after. A varied menu of reasonably priced food only added to our enjoyment. However the most important aspect to us were the people, nothing was to much trouble and despite our lack of the Spanish language, everyone from front office, housekeeping and catering were eager to assist. One more thing to say, we're already booked for next year, but for an extra week.

Hotel Lois is located in the city center close to the harbor and the main plaza, Praza de María Pita. The room is stark white with a modern vibe, plenty of storage space, but short on outlets. The room is furnished with a comfortable queen sized bed and a small desk. There was a safe but it was locked. The Wi-Fi connection wasn’t working at first but once we found the right person they were able to reboot it. With the windows closed the room is quiet and dark. The bathroom was good sized for a Euro bathroom, but this may not be standard as it was equipped with fixtures for the disabled. The shower had good hot water and pressure. Not much counter space but a small table next to the sink. The hotel also offers a discount at the nearby Cantones Parking garage, 12 Euros per night instead of 24. The breakfast buffet is good for a hotel of this size and quality including a selection of sliced and whole fruit, cheese and charcuterie, house-made sweets, bread and jams, boxed cereal, bread, nuts and dried fruit, packaged pastry, yogurt and fresh squeezed orange juice. Good coffee is individually made and brought to the table.

Not enough outlet in room

Although getting to the hotel was a bit tricky (construction areas on the day of our arrival, one way streets and pedestrian zones), it was well worth it. From the moment we arrived, the personnel took care of every single thing, big and small. We were already extremely pleased with ourselves for our choice of hotel, and then we made the brilliant decision to eat in their restaurant as well. Such a good choice. Local specialities prepared and served with pride. Breakfast as well! A good buffet with homemade pastries. Just wonderful. Would love to do it all again.

Absolutely nothing.

Great Location, next to restaurants, ice cream shops and walking distance to shopping and attractions(Hercules Tower) Clean Hotel. Good Space for one person. Bathroom was spacious.

Didn't like that the curtain In the bathroom didn't work and it was weird to have such a big window next to the toilet. Towel warmer didn't work. If I opened the window the smell from the restaurants invaded the room.

Honestly, this hotel exceeded our expectations in every possible way! the location is off the hook - right in the heart of La Coruña, in the middle of all the bars, restaurants and cafes. The space is small but the rooms are large enough to not feel cramped. The bathroom is almost as big as the room. Absolutely loved the Nespresso machine in the room. I wish all hotels did that. The staff was really kind. Would visit again if in La Coruña.

Nothing - it was perfect!

Location, standard of the room, very polite and friendly staff

Very poor sound insulation on the inner doors, so as my room was next to the elevator, it basically sounded like someone was in my room when they were talking or making any noise outside. Wifi, that was specifically mentioned as "strong" here on booking.com, was easily the slowest I have encountered during my current trip to Spain.

Lovely small hotel. Staff very helpful and room very nice and modern with shuttered windows and great shower. Coffee making facilities. In the old part of town near to the harbour and lots of eating places around. Ten minutes walk across to other side of peninsula to the beach. Airport bus two minutes walk from the hotel. Good location.

I booked in for one night and have extended my stay for 1 week. This is a delightful, small, family run hotel, It is exceptionally clean and comfortable and the staff are very pleasant. It is in a great situation for exploring the city, with a lot to see within reasonable walking distance and there is a taxi rank just around the corner. There is a also a small bar/restaraunt downstairs with plenty of choice at decent prices. I doubt I could have chosen better and if I return to La Coruna, this is where I will be staying!
