Philstay Myeongdong Station

Great, cheap price for the quality of the room. Location is simply ideal as it's near the train station while also being in the central hub of Myeondong. And the reception reps go above and beyond being both helpful and accommodating. They had provided me with a free umbrella for use during my stay in Seoul, and they didn't charge me anything extra for having lost it. They had also offered to pack my clothes after the dryer was done, so that I wouldn't need to watch over my laundry for hours at the hostel myself.

This accommodation's bedding is solidly firm. So this can be a huge con for anyone who doesn't like / aren't used to these type of hard mattresses.

The location is near the Myeongdong Station which makes it easy for me to access the subway. The pantry also clean and complete. I can preheat and enjoy my meal. The owner is very friendly and helpful. I arrived late from Busan and I inform the owner for late check in. The owner is really easy to communicate, good in English and help me to late check in. Thank you. The place is quiet and I can have a good rest even though it is in the middle of Myeongdong Street. Overall, I am satisfied.

The room is kinda small but I believe that other hotel/guesthouse also provide small room at the Myeongdong area since I already check the room size before make any booking. I guess it is hard to find a cheap and large room in Korea due to high living costs.

Fantastic little hostel! Super friendly staff. Very clean rooms. Filtered water available. Room is small yes, but cozy and the location of this property is excellent.

This is a 9 and not a 10 because the shower situation is weird. The bathroom/shower are the same little room and once you use the shower, the bathroom will be wet for many hours.

Location is super great..in the center of Myeondong Shopping Street but what i like more is that the hotel near Airport Bus Limousine bus stop and the road to hotel is flat so it easy to drag the luggage to the bus stop. The staff can speak English well so no problem for communication.

I know the room is small but not expect it really small that u don't even have space to open your luggage. Therefore, we took out all our clothes from luggage and put it at small space under the bed and put aside our luggage. The bed is too high so it difficult just to sit at the edge of the bed. So considering the location, though the room is small it still good option.

Philstay Myeongdong Station is a convenient location for first-time visitors to Seoul. I took the Airport Express train to the hotel and realized I could actually take the Airport bus that would stop 5 minutes from the hostel. There's a shopping and food market the instant I step outside the building. It's also about 20 minutes walk to Insadong, which is a really cute traditional shopping area. The staff at the hostel were super friendly and they let me store my luggage at the hostel after I checked out so I could hang around the city a bit more before heading to the airport. Overall, it was a good value stay!

The slippers in the bathroom are worn out and dirty. I recommend the hostel not leave slippers inside the bathroom and offer new slippers to guests if they request them. It's not hygienic to reuse slippers.

The staff was very welcoming and friendly. They strove to assist us with every request we had and were the only establishment that allowed us to access the rooms early as they were ready. Every other hotel we stayed at insisted on maintaining the 3pm check in time irrespective of room readiness. The rooms were more spacious than expected and the twin rooms were comfortable enough for 2 people and could still accommodate 2 suitcases. The room offered the usual mod cons and the shower was impressive. The location is in the heart of the night markets and a whole host of eateries and shops.

The location was exactly in the myeongdong shopping center and accessible to all punlic transport, restaurants and tourists spot. Making it accessible was even nearby to tourist places and tour pickups. The receptionist and the owner was very kind and hospitable with us. They have assisted us as much as they can during arrival and departure. Theybare very helpful. 👍👍👍👏👏. The room was clean and the bed was very comfy though space wise dont expect it to be big.since we went during cold season they have aloted heater which makes the room much comfy once you are resting in the room. It is a highly recommended place. Easy to find. Good for solo and group of people travellers. Love the place. 💜💜

The staffs were friendly. The location is the best, just 2-3mins walk from the Myeongdong subway station and the airport limousine bus #6015 or #6001. The public dining and kitchen area is full of amenities you can use to cook and heat food and they have a water dispenser with cold and hot water.

The rooms and the bathroom are smaller than average, so be aware and prepare. However, the room has everything you need, towels, shampoo, body wash, hairdryer, mini fridge, tv, etc. If you will not be spending much time in the room, you will be fine!

The accommodation is located in the middle of Myeongdong and to its subway station. The staff was very friendly and kind by carrying my suitcase upstairs and explaining everything in the room to me. Like how to use the air conditioner and how the shower system is working.

What I didn't realize through the pictures was that there is no window to the outside of the hotel but only to the hallway. Unfortunately the walls are very thin and you can hear your neighbors loud and clear. So if they are showering in the middle of the night or doing something else, you are kind of witness...But I guess that's common at hotels in Seoul. To me the bed was really really hard. I was glad to had a twin room so I could use one blanket as an extra mattress, otherwise I wouldn't have been able to sleep. The bathroom was a bit moldy and there were bugs. It wasn't able to dry that quickly although I left the door open and the kept the fan running.

The staff at the hotel were extremely helpful and always reachable by booking.com and they answered my messages very quickly. On arrival we asked them to book us a trip to the DMZ which they did straight away and reminded us every day about it so that we wouldn’t forget. You get what you pay for and it was great value for money so you would sacrifice a little bit on size of room and bathroom but overall it was excellent value for money for the center of Seoul. It was very quiet at night time and you couldn’t hear the people in the hostel walking around which was great

It was a little inconvenient that the bathroom would get all wet after you showered however they did provide slippers in the bathroom and in the room.
