Fairfield by Marriott Seoul

We loved the neighborhood the hotel was located in. It was incredibly close to amazing street food, markets, the mall, and the train station. The beds were larger than anticipated and quite comfortable. We really appreciated the help from Duco, a guest agent, as we were checking out of the hotel. He is a great asset to the Fairfield by Marriott Seoul

The bathroom in the double room wasn’t its own space and the shower often leaked a bit and stayed wet for a long time.

The location was the best part. Subway, airport limousine bus stops and everything was very convenient.

The inhouse restaurant closes as early as 7:30pm, so late dinner is difficult at the hotel, there are a options around . Breakfast was an ok spread.

I liked that there was a fitness center in the hotel. Although it was small, it had enough for me to get a decent workout. Even the Bistro was great, I always like having an American style breakfast in the morning.

The lighting of my room wasn't bad, but also not the best. I have to shave often and the location of the lights and the amount of light it gives off made it quite the hassle to see if I had miss any spots during shaving.

Location close to mall, train station and lots of restaurants and bars and a market. Room was clean by Korean standards and comfortable. You can close the bathroom with the sliding partition between the room and bathroom and the toilet can be closed with shower door. Bed was comfortable and nice views. There was some train noise but I'm not a light sleeper so didn't bother me. Good amenities in the room.

After we had been there a few days they turned off the temperature control. I don't know if they thought no one was in the room but had to go down to reception three times to get it fixed. They said they had turned it on but they hadn't then after they turned it on they turned it off again the next day. Just be aware you should be able to control the temp in the room but they turn it off of they think no one is there. There is no number to call reception you have to go down there. Was really annoying as we woke up freezing and had to go down at like 4am to get them to turn the heating on. Lighting is a little dark as is usual in hotels though. Overall though it was good.

Location is good - less than 5-min walk from the nearest train station and airport bus stops are just a min away and across the road. As a light sleeper, I could sleep well though I could hear people speaking at times when they walked along the corridor. Was kept warm throughout the stay as well. I'd like to thank Piona / Fiona for her patience and eagerness to help despite the fact that we had a bit of a language barrier - not an issue with Google translate :) She sets an exemplary example for the other staff.

Housekeeping standards varied; first day (19 Nov) was excellent but there were days with spoons and cups left unwashed. Stayed for a week and strangely smell of cigarette smoke emanated from the bathroom almost half the time though it's a non-smoking hotel.

It’s very clean and the location even though far from the airport and central Seoul is still nicely located with malls around it.

My friend had an unfortunate incident with one of the staff (western / male), she asked to reserve a room for an extra day and the man rudely told him no, fortunately my friend went back later and asked again and another staff member extended her stay without any hassles. Other than that, even though I was moved closer to the subway and there was some noise.. I was able to tolerate it. I have nothing negative to say about the property at all.

Good bed, the cleaning service is good, close to the metro and main shoppings and bars and restaurants. There is a starbucks down on your right and a convenience store too.

The bathroom shower was not working warming properly and the slide door which separate the bedroom was not the best. The gym needs more machines to work out as a bar for chest, a leg press or squat so if you like working out properly, watch out for that. Plus if you feel hot, in winter, the air conditioner doesnt cool down as the heater system is general for all so it is more like ventilation thing.

Great hotel located very close to Yeongdeungpo station (15min from Seoul station). The surroundings of the hotel are very lively with a lot of restaurants and the Times Square Mall and a Lotte Department Store. We got a double bed room, rooms are quite small, they made a very efficient use of the space (one door for the douche and toilet). We had the room facing the train tracks. Although we heard the trains, I was not annoyed by it. We had breakfast in the restaurant, it was a good breakfast buffet, and you get a discount if you're a guest. I have to say that the clean service is excellent. Each day the room was perfectly clean and neat. Moreover, staff is very helpful. The airco of the room was too strong (made the air too dry). We asked for a humidifier and it came right away. It helped a lot in the night.

The location was amazing! You are close to two train stations (bring cash for the train card!) which bring you to all parts of the city and there is a food district straight across. We loved the location as it was easy to get back after days exploring and when you've had enough you can go hoke and know you won't be stuck for food. The room was cleaned everyday and they were brilliant at replenishing the water. The receptionist was super kind and gave us a room on 10th floor facing the city so we didn't have any problem with noise... actually was worried about noise after reading reviews but we slept like babies!!!

Room was a little dusty in areas that had been overlooked for example on top of the safety deposit box and under the sink... when disturbed it did result in a sneezing fit but other than this there wasn't anything bad about our stay!!

I liked the location and how easy it was to walk around. I also liked the restaurants around. The bed and space was nice. I liked other hotels that have double entry door but nonetheless, I felt safe.

I would have wanted staff to explain a little more about amenities and benefits. I called concierge to find out about restaurants hours and they had no idea and were not able or unwilling to find the information for me. I had to go directly to the restaurant in the same building to find out it doesn't open until 2 hours from when i went. I know I was able to do it myself but that should be basic information they should be able to provide.
