Mercure Ambassador Seoul Hongdae

Staff members were very friendly and helpful . They spoke English very well. We had to change room during our stay. The move from one room to another room was very easy. The upgrade was free of charge. The rooms were clean and the beds were very comfortable. This hotel has a coined washer and dryer, garment steamer and irons and ironing boards.Reservation for taxi can be done at the hotel. We had a large group therefore we needed a jumbo taxi, the staff arranged for our ride. The breakfast was good . There were a variety of items from Korean soup, corn soup, japchae, fried rice, mapo tofu, scramble eggs, cereals,fruits, salad, crossaint etc. The location was very accessible to public transportation. It is less than a 5 minutes walk to a subway, bus or main road to hail a taxi. Also, the hotel is surrounded by convenient stores, restaurants,cafes, street food, street vendors, and shopping centers.The check-in and checkout process were very quick. We had a very enjoyable stay at this hotel.

The dining room was small. We had to make a reservation if we want to have breakfast or dinner at the hotel.

The location is very convenient, very close to the train station and hongdae shopping street. Lots of food and shopping right outside the hotel. The room was clean and staff was very helpful in even booking taxi's for us.

The room was smaller than expected but still a comfortable size. Laundry room is often packed so there's a big wait time.

I opted for a room with a balcony because I don’t like how rooms rooms can get too warm in winter and the thermostat in the room usually can’t be adjusted to a lower temperature. The cold wind helped keep my room cool when needed. The room was extremely quiet and soundproof even though the hotel is right by the main bustling street. I had the chance to stay at L7 (which is right opposite this hotel on that same main road) during this trip too and that hotel was a lot noisier. Bed and room was comfortable and spacious. Amazing location too, right by hongdae station!

I would have been great if the thermostat could have been adjusted to a cooler temperature such that I wouldn’t have had to upgrade to a room with balcony to ensure that my room was not too warm. Also, due to the design of the exterior of the hotel, the panels blocked the view from my balcony.

Gave early check-in. The comfort and lush. Big space for 2. Like the long side bench at window. Room is clean. Buffet breakfast is nice too. Prompt service and friendly staff. Quiet and relaxing. Convenient and near to transport. Shopping and restaurants right at doorstep. So easy to just bring shopping back and continue shopping again.

Can b a bit of muffled noise if street is a bit rowdy in quietness of night. But will not affect sleep. The hotel entrance with 2 owls mural...not classy enough and aesthetic though. It doesn't reflect the beauty and comfort of the inside.

The staff were very helpful and they could communicate in English fluently. The room was very clean and new, we loved the wood flooring which was much cleaner than carpet and ensured protection from bed bugs. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. The heater maintained a comfortable humidity level, preventing dry throats. The location is perfect and the acoustic was great, cannot hear anything downstair nor next door.

I appreciate it's a cool design but the hotel room corridor is really quite dark and could be scary for someone, especially when u are thinking of some kind of hotel ghost stories... Some of the towels are getting old and a bit hard

Amazing staff, clean room, a tv where you can connect your phone with via Chromecast so you can watch Netflix even, very comfy bed and good location! Depending on the room you can see and hear buskers from the window The service/staff are super friendly and always greet you with a smile. You really feel so warm and welcomed. We once had a problem with the shower head and they fixed it immediately despite being late It has a laundry room to wasch you clothes (costs 4000 won) And the staff can speak English good! It has a small refrigerator and a big safe too. Tip: it's a bit hidden but you can "swipe" the "door" to the left between laboratory and bed and a big big mirror will appear :D (hope I could explain it)

It can be a bit louder at night but not to the extent that it gets bothering.

The Mercure was a great place to stay for first time travelers to Seoul. It is right off the subway and has several bus stops in the general vicinity. There’s countless restaurants and shops all around, so you can easily walk around Hongdae and not need to use public transportation or hire a taxi if you prefer to explore the neighborhood. I felt everything was close by and it was very lively, with food stalls a few blocks away. The staff was very friendly, spoke great English and were attentive with helping with all my needs. The rooms themselves were very stylish and sleek, and everything you’d come to expect from a modern city like Seoul. I can’t speak for their restaurant/cafe, since I did not eat there, but there is a convenience store right next door for a quick and easy snack. I actually wished I had stayed here longer, so if you choose to make The Mercure your home base for your trip, you won’t regret it!

The views weren’t the best from my room, but honestly that didn’t even bother me because I was too busy exploring the city. Space is a little tight for luggage, though it is manageable.

The hotel has an exceptional location, right off the main avenue at Hongdae. It is a few steps away from the subway and the neighbourhood is unarguably one of the best in Seoul if you are looking for an eventful, lively stay. We visited a year ago too and the amenities and upkeep remain perfect. Would want to keep coming back.

Compared to last year, the prices have increased significantly. At nearly 160 euros a night, a guest can expect a few more small luxuries like a rain shower or a more diverse coffee offering in the room. Our room, although quite high up, had a very small window this time, which was a little disappointing.

hotel is one street away from the popular tourist hongdae street. this means your area is quiet, but you are very close by to shops and restaurants that are opened till late, so you wont get hungry! hotel is also right next to the metro exit so you dont have to walk far from hotel to reach the metro. subway line 2 is connects to several other popular destinations such as myeongdong so you dont even have to change trains! the hotel was also super comfortable, it provides everything you would expect. If i were to come back to seoul again, this hotel would be a top choice!

would have loved to have a king-sized bed, but the double single bed worked out too

The location was very convenient to the train station and only one train away from Incheon Airport so no need to transfer stations/trains. Hongdae is more of a younger touristy crowd, lots of late night happenings and karaoke bars/bars/kbbq spots so it was perfectly fine for me. The hotel was clean, has a filtered water machine to refill water bottles (beside the gym), and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean, the view in my room was great and the size of the room was bigger than I expected.
