Antiq Palace - Historic Hotels of Europe

The very spcious rooms were on the first floor and had a communicating door - my friend & I were able to enjoy independence but also have the advantage of visitng each other easily The location was excellent in every way quiet but near the 'action'! Breakfast was OK - but we only found out that there was a possibility of a cooked breakfast - when we saw someone else's scrambled egg on he 3rd day of our stay! Above all, the staff were delightful - and willing to help in any way possible

The bathroom had rather poor lighting ;the curtains in the bedroom were slightly narrow for the windows & it would have been a nice touch to have a tissue dispenser in the bathroom . The lift had a rather strange smell - could do with an air freshener!!

a warm welcome and the team at reception are very friendly. You could not arrive for a better location. The building is very grand and the hallways are well maintained. The Suites are massive and the bed is comfy but they need an interior designer to come in and restyle them as the furniture and layout is very random. On saying that they are perfect and reasonable and clean and spacious and have tea/coffee (needs to be checked by housekeeping and larger mugs in the room and spoons and maybe milk in mini bar), well stocked minibar, safe (needs to be checked as didn’t work), clean bathroom with great lighting and shower (in my room), lots of drawers (too many around the room) and a large wardrobe. Breakfast is good - continental but they need to invest in better quality rolls. This hotel is random but clean, friendly, reasonable and in an amazing location

Clean, quiet and comfortable room in a very central location. Really large room and a wonderful breakfast. We were able to park very close to the hotel.

Hotel is in the pedestrian zone so we needed to have the staff open the gates to let us in and out. Make sure you are clear on where to go or you will have a challenge parking. The hotel did not inform us of the parking situation until I specifically asked. We were not given a parking pass for our car so we were fortunate we did not get a parking ticket. Our room was huge but oddly the toilet was in a very small, separate room.

The location was excellent in the old part of town. We could walk everywhere. The building was beautiful and our apartment was superb. We are two friends travelling together, so to have our own bedroom and separate living space was luxury. We stayed six nights. The staff were great and the breakfasts varied and delicious. Lots of lovely extra little touches. On departure, we needed a taxi and the hotel organised this for us with great efficiency. Overall, as you can imagine, I would highly recommend the Antiq Palace in Ljubljana.

Good location in the pedestrian area of the city centre. Decor in public areas.

Suite was not a suite but a large room. Advertised as having air conditioning but just a plug in fan. {Not a problem during our stay as not hot at night and the location us quiet enough to have the windows open.} Breakfast was hard work! Had to guess what might be in the kitchen to request it was put on the buffet table, teaspoon for cereal is a slow process etc. Staff were responsive but unsupervised and inexperienced. Furniture in bedroom was modern in a clichéd version of an old style. All minor matters we would consider staying at the hotel again if in Ljubljana.

We booked very last minute due to a flight cancellation, our booking was immediately confirmed and we were greeted warmly even though it was late. Beautiful building in a fantastic location. Deluxe double room is a great size - big entrance, good size room, small kitchen area, large bathroom

The floor in our room was really dirty, we both had to wash our feet before getting in to bed as they were black with dirt and dust. Breakfast was included in the price of our booking, we would have been disappointed with the offering if we had paid extra for this.

The room was amazing, very large and clean. We loved the decor. Fantastic central location. Delicious breakfast and the lady that served us was very professional. Stunning property!

The reception was not of a very high standard. I receptionist was kind, but not trained to deal with guests. I would reccomend a short course on how to meet and greet guests at the Check in etc. We spent some time ringing the buzzer at the front door and there was no reply. Eventually the receptionist opened the door for us. We truly missed some information about the history of the property. Perhaps a nice touch would be to have some printed information about what the building used to be in the past and who lived in it. We select historic properties, because we are fascinated by their history.

It's a beautiful building. We had the top floor 2 bedroom apartment. Great size. It wasn't the room we booked ( I really wanted an old fashioned elegant room) the room we got was very modern and nicely furnished.. Great location.

Room wasn't serviced unless asked. Not much to complain about.

This hotel was really unique, in a historic building with beautiful music streaming through from the music conservatoire next door. The staff were very friendly, and the rooms were humongous!

There were some niggly issues, such as windows, doors and the safe not closing properly, but staff resolved them quickly.

They’re in the middle of the most romantic city I’ve ever been to! And right across the street from my favorite eatery- Monstera. From the hotel you also see the famous castle! What a beautiful place. The rooms are huge, the ceiling so tall and just so much space! It’s a dream come true with live classical music coming from a neighboring building. Also- the breakfast is fabulous and the staff in charge of breakfast deserve so much credit the gentleman was so kind to us

Outside of the morning staff I’m not sure the others are too used to 4 star hotel service. They are all quite kind and friendly but there seems to be some miscommunications often between them as we as a bit of confusion from the general check in. It doesn’t whatsoever detract from the experience though and I believe these staff members are also quite lovely!
