Concorde Old Bucharest Hotel

Good location but we naively assumed being in the Old Town would be a quiet space. It’s the exact opposite and is the heart of the loud bars/clubs scene with exceptionally loud music playing until the early hours. The double glazing was helpful but even that and ear plugs didn’t deafen the sound. Not the fault of the hotel but something to consider if you are not a night owl. Stay away from the Old Town! A good hotel at a decent price. Not 5* but comfortable and it’s definitely worth paying the premium price to get a terrace space. The breakfast was poor. Buffet breakfast in a windowless room but the hot dishes were always cold so not enjoyable.

Old Town location made for a noisy stay into the early hours as mentioned above. Poor breakfast - food and ambience, also as mentioned above. Towels could do with an upgrade.

Location was terrific. We had a room at the front of the hotel so it was quiet, the back can be noisy as all the bars are there. The room was quite spacious and was kept immaculate by the maid service every day, new towels and sheets. Staff were friendly and informative. Breakfast had a lot of options.

The mattress on the bed was very hard and was quite uncomfortable to sleep on. While the options on the breakfast was good, sometimes some items were actually cold. Scrambled eggs, hash brown's and bacon most days were cold. The toaster had 4 spaces but took a while to toast the bread so a bit of a wait on occasion. Massage was a service that was advertised on their website, but on enquiring, I was told this had not been available since covid. Perhaps it may be a good idea for them to remove this option from their website. However I would still recommend the Hotel apart from the bed we had a great stay within walking distance of most things.

The location of the hotel was excellent with the Old Town right at the rear exit - straight into a pedestrian walking area. The hotel staff could not have been nicer and we were able to check in on arrival in advance of normal check in time. The room was comfortable - nice firm beds. Bathroom was small but adequate and had a rain shower. Tea and coffee facilities were provided, also a mini bar (charges apply) and a safe. The room had a tiny Juliette balcony. The breakfast was excellent - good variety given it is only a small hotel and the home made bread pudding was to die for. Breakfast is normally from 7.30 am but when reception learned we had a tour starting at 7.30 am they immediately organised for us to have breakfast at 7 am. There is an ATM in the grounds of the hotel, where travel money cards can be used to withdraw cash in local currency. There is lift access to all floors within the hotel but you will need to climb some steps if your transport drops you at the front of the hotel. A good restaurant is attached to the hotel, just outside the rear entrance. English seems to be widely spoken in the hotel and restaurants. Altogether a great boutique hotel in a wonderful location. Definitely somewhere with charm that we will return to.

Nothing. I did have an issue with the hair-dryer not working but another was provided when I reported it.

The first room we had was on the Old Town side and was extremely noisy at night, so much so that we got very little sleep. However the staff were very helpful and changed us to an equivalent grade room on the other side of the building which was much quieter. The rooms themselves were comfortable and large. The hotel is very convenient for the Old Town and all its amenities.

The location is perfect, we booked 3 superior rooms and got 2 tiny rooms and a big one that deserve the superior rate, the other 2 wasn’t good.

Boutique hotel, Very large room (1 Deluxe Room with Balcony) at the river side, Very quiet , Small Balcony Next to three other rooms balconies (too close), Great location - there is a backdoor from the hotel to the center of the old city. very clean hotel and looks Well maintained. Good breakfast. Great Value, Recommended

The only problem was that when we needed extra towel at the evening we needed to get to the recaption to get it, They didn't deliver to the room. There is no way to control the A/C, However, it was hot inside (outside temperature was 3 - 10 Celsius ) and you can rotate the Wall Mounted Radiator to control the heat. (we reduce the heat)

Staff were friendly, location great for bars (literally straight out back door) breakfast was standard buffet style with eggs/bacon etc and good continental selection. Rooms were very nice, place was very clean. Firm but comfortable mattress. Highly recommended if you want clean, fair price, excellent location with nice rooms and staff.

Balcony in my room (202) had zero privacy, like 4 balconies stuck together, one facing directly into my room, zero privacy with curtains open. Pretty much my only complaint. Oh and shower soaks the floor, anti slip tiles and it's a wet room setup so stopped panicking after the first time.

The hotel is in an excellent location. The room was clean. The staff is very nice.

We got a room with a shower. The water would flood the bathroom. When we told the team the solution was to put towels to absorb the water...not right! They changed us to a room with a bath and that's how the problem was solved. What was upsetting was that the staff knew there was a problem with this room and despite that they gave it to us. It's a shame... without this fault I would rate the hotel as excellent.

The location is perfect with both car access and a back door that takes you directly into the Old Town The room was very spacious and quiet, the scandi style bed as comfortable (2 individual duvets on a double bed). The shower was a good size Breakfast was ok. The buffet is squeezed into a corner that makes access difficult when there are more than a few people there. The hot choices were lukewarm every day. They do offer an early opening service for anyone who has an early day tour but register with reception. I did hear mention of a packed breakfast but never saw anyone collect it nor did reception or the breakfast staff mention it. One annoying thing - you could get a takeaway coffee but not take any food, given that the early morning opening was at 07h00 and tours started from somewhere outside the Old City from 07h30, eating breakfast in <10 mins was a push. I’ve added photos of the Old Town, the bookshop (in the Old Town), Linea Rooftop Bar (10 mins walk) and Nicolae Ceausescu’s Villa (40 mins by metro and walking)

I mentioned the disappointments with breakfast - lukewarm when it should have been at least warm, and only coffee as a takeaway option. The other disappointment was that the bar was closed. Yes, there are bars around the hotel but sometimes we like to take a drink to the room when getting changed etc

The location of the hotel was just perfect for a short city trip to Bucharest, right in the old city and lots of restaurants and bars downstairs and also just 15 minute walk to the restaurants along the river. We had a room in the 3rd floor, the rooms were sound proof but you could still hear the bass from the clubs and bars at night and early morning. But we were always so tired that it didn't bother us, we could fall asleep easily. The bathroom was very small and you could not really open the door entirely, the water in the shower was also weak. The breakfast was superb; service of the women working at the breakfast was excellent, they always made sure that nothing was empty and even checked if there was enough even though we were the first guests at the breakfast. Even right before closing they still made sure that there was enough. The service of the reception was also exceptional, we were always on tours or in the city, so we had barely personal contact with the reception, but they always responded to my messages and inquiries on booking.com within 2-3 hours which was very convenient, also before our arrival. They arranged early breakfast and a breakfast package for us this way. All in all we had a really nice stay here in the hotel, especially because of the service, thank you for that!
