Pine Cliffs Hotel, a Luxury Collection Resort, Algarve

I travel for a living as I am an airline pilot, im used to hotels and my father owns a luxury resort hotel, im not easily impressed... Yet from the very beginning our experience in Pine Cliffs was absolutely amazing! the style and class from the entry gates with the beautiful pine trees, the typical Portuguese sidewalk, the parking spaces, the entry, the pleasant smells, the smiles, the efficiency, the proactivity of the staff! I was offered an upgrade on my room that was one of the best suggestions of my entire vacation! what an outstanding villa! with front view to the sea and the pool (room 98) I cannot recommend this enough! the gardens and golf court are outstanding! the fountains that make you feel in any given Portuguese village, transpires the very soul of the country! the access to the beaches are like a stairway to heaven, the sand was so clean! the bar serving ice cold sangria was a little piece of liquid rest to the soul! the bar by the pool had this chill out mode music playing that made me lose track of time, words seem to fail me now to describe the experience I had! The breakfast well organised and with plenty of space between guests, offered a wide range of food tastes and preferences including vegan lifestyle. I might have gained a few extra pounds on their food! I had the displeasure of being stung by a wasp on zoomarine during my dolphin experience, and when I got back to the hotel I was immediately taken to the doctors office, on which I analysed, taken care of and even medicated for free. The sense of well-being was absolute from the moment we stepped in until the moment we stepped out, my fiancé had already been a guest there the previous year along with my mother-in-law and she can't seem to talk praises about Portugal... such was the level of the hotel.

(not negative just don't have any more space on the positive... I tip my hat to Tiago and Paulo on the reception! the owners should rejoice to have such professionals at their ranks; ohhhh almost forgot! I left a shirt on the room, when I called today the lost and found had already found, managed and labeled the item and was ready to post it to me... just awaiting my contact and authorisation... Mariana was brilliant! Thank you so much for your services) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The coffee at breakfast could be improved. not bad at all, but as a Portuguese citizen we are used to the highest quality in any corner coffee shop. Perhaps an extra service of it an an extra cost could be an interesting solution.

Beautiful location with the famous Pine Cliffs 9 hole golf course on site. We stayed in the hotel and had a Deluxe ocean view room which was great. I loved the sunbeds under the pine trees, the beach towel cards, Mare beach restaurant and the champagne bar overlooking the cliffs. We played golf every day and enjoyed the course and the facilities of the clubhouse.

There wasn't an easy option just to get something like a basic sandwich and crisps to have down at the beach or by the pool (I travelled with my 14 year old son who is always hungry!). There were very few staff manning the sunbed area for drinks service. Worth mentioning the walk to the beach is down steps and a long boardwalk - coming back up takes some effort and not suitable for those with mobility issues. Obviously the resort shops are expensive - worth popping out the resort to the supermarket which is opposite the main entrance for basics.

Excellent restaurants, great garden with plenty of shade, nice rooms with excellent beds and great isolation against noise and heat.

Toerists putting towels on sunbeds as from 8 am to secure a spot and then not turning up before noon...Hotel should put a stop to this.

Wonderful & Charming Resort with beautiful gardens. Lot of restaurants with views on garden/golf/pools/ocean. Room was just so lovely, so clean, and bed extremely comfortable. Excellent choice for taking a break. Access to the beach via a nice path. Falesia beach is a place to see!

Great service from start to finish. Tomas did a great job checking us in, giving recommendations and explaining all the facilities - very friendly staff all round. Very nice room and beautiful and peaceful grounds and facilities, especially the beach. Really enjoyed our breakfasts. Great location with a number of local restaurants to choose from within close walking proximity to the resort.

As mentioned in other reviews, the restaurants within the resort appeared unreasonably expensive for the type of food, which put us off from eating regularly at the resort, although there were some good local options nearby. The only other downside during our stay was the renovations being made to the cliff side bar which slightly spoilt the view and created some noise (fairly minimal) by one of the pools.

Breakfast was super . Catered to all tastes . Staff were superb . All staff responded to our requests within the whole hotel . The Covid cleaning was excellent and made us feel safe . Liked the fact a testing facility was made available on site . The eurocar service was efficient. The beds in the rooms were superb. The gym was really good . Well kitted out despite being small. The restaurants outside the hotel are of excellent quality and great value .

The beds at the beach . The blue pads need replaced . We’ve been since 2005 and I think these must be the same pads . My husband had to double pad the bed so his back did not hurt. Also , we don’t like the roping off of the front row . Again having been since 2005 it changes the feel of the beach and we do t think it is necessary.

Pine Cliffs is a centrally located Marriot Luxury resort in the Algarve about halfway between Lagos and Tavira making it a strategic jumping point for sightseeing along the Algarve. There are shuttles to get around the resort as it is quite large, but there is also plenty of parking for resort guests. The staff is super friendly, courteous and helpful. The Resort is gorgeous with lush, well manicured gardens throughout, beautiful Mediterranean architecture and excellent amenities for all ages. The rooms are spacious and well appointed. The beds are very comfortable. We had an ocean view room with a private balcony and incredible views. It was well worth the splurge! The free buffet breakfast was plentiful and delicious with a wide assortment of offerings. It was served at several of the restaurants so there was almost no wait. There are about 4-5 different restaurants within the resort, but you have to check time frames for lunch and dinner options as they differ for each restaurant. There is also a small grocery store and a very good restaurant right outside the resort. Unfortunately, we were not there long enough to enjoy the gym or the spa, but they did look inviting. There are several outdoor pools and 1 large indoor pool. For those who like the ocean, but not the sun there is a large grassy area between the hotel and the cliffs with chaise lounges under a canopy of trees. The beach also has first come first serve beach chairs and umbrellas and is accessed via steps or elevator. There is a resort restaurant on the beach. As is evident, my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and I cannot say enough good things about it. I highly recommend it.

Hotel entrance gets a little congested with all the shuttles, tourist vans and buses. You may need to cut out some of the parking spaces from around the entrance area to relieve driving congestion.

Resort was huge so it's kind of a pain. Although the resort was beautiful it was not my ideal hotel pick. Pools were crazy cold so Heating pools must not be standard in the Algarve but they were too cold for most. Although it may sound trivial..breakfast was included in my rate however they would not let.me take a coffee unless I was seated. Seems like an absurd policy for a $600euro/night property. I had to pay for it to go. You had to call room service to get mini bar refills. It was the little things like that I would have expected to be accommodated

The Location is fantastic, staff is very friendly and helpful, Miguel from reception is very professional and helpful. Room was very clean and comfortable, nice bed. Mirador bar is fantastic and the view is spectacular. Staff is fantastic all around the resort, helpful and friendly, breakfast is very good. Good Pizzas at Corda Café, Room service staff was excellent and also the chicken wing and cheesecake.

Food quality, Corda café steak and or Fajitas, poor quality, very overpriced for the quality, I’ll pay more if needed but not for poor quality meat and preparation, felt like Applebee’s on a bad day. Room service food was of poor quality, pasta dishes tasted like hospital food, no tomato sauce in the meat sauce.

Beautiful resort with great garden and beach views. With the beach, golf and tennis courses nearby you have everything to properly take vacation. We went during the covid period, and thus some facilities were closed, but nevertheless a great experience. Would recommend to also take a treatment in the spa

Can be a bit crowded from time to time. Queues for the breakfast buffet/terrace, almost no free spots in the garden for sun beds, nor on the beach
