Dolce Vita Hotel

Location. It was very near the airport plus they had a free airport transfer up to 5pm. 300 per van after 5pm (5people). The rooms were as they were in photos. So as the pool and everything else. It was a very nice hotel.

Payment policy. I usually book via booking.com or agoda to get discounts. But this hotel charges extra 5% for credit card payments and even debit cards! They also have this note in the room why they do so. Understandable, but I think they should take out their listing in booking.com or wherever else they are listed if they want people to book with them directly. It’s very misleading. I wouldn’t have booked this room if I knew that, despite all the positive things. Integrity should be valued above all.

Since the original room that we booked was not available on our new dates, they put us in a very large group room with 2 double beds and 2 bunk beds. Yet the a/c was strong enough to keep the room cool. The wifi signal was also better in this room. We appreciated them accepting the fish that we bought at the public market so that they could have ingredients to prepare the kinilaw that was on their menu but unavailable on our last 2 visits.

This particular room looks much more dated than the villas, which made us feel a bit sad. It's quite easy to fix some of the issues with proper maintenance and just a little bit of observation. We noticed that the hotel was still allotting one pillow per person. (We were here 2 months prior.)

Very close to the airport. They have a shuttle bus, which is complimentary. We arrived by car though, so didn't use that. The complex is very nice and well maintained. There's a pool and a restaurant, fod was good. The room was spacious, as was the bathroom.

We first got the room by the pool. The airconditioner didn't work, so we asked and got another room. Later we found out there's a lot of noise in that room, coming from the pool, with loud guests in it, and noise from the restaurant. So we were glad we moved.

It's very near Puerto Princesa airport. This boutique hotel has character - it started as a family house for a German and Filipina couple that became hotel after adding rooms. The room we got is standard on the first floor, which is nice for people who have mobility conditions. We have a room for a maximum of 4-6 pax. There are bunkbed and 2 double beds, which is a lot for just 2 people. The bathroom is good in size with a standard bidet. I'm very pleased with water pressure and available hot water. (See my other review for the second floor with Italian design and local furnishings). There is a pool next to the cabana restaurant where you can enjoy a la carte or set breakfast meals. If you love fruits, Palawan has it in abundance, and the price is cheap and can be found in fruit stands and small stores along local or major roads. There is a free airport shuttle between 8-5 p.m. only. Inform the hotel in advance of your arrival time. I suggest getting a flight between these times to save you the hustle to get your own ride to the hotel and vice versa. The free airport shuttle is a nice perk. The hotel is in a quiet location, which is a plus for light sleeper. Lastly, the hotel can arrange your tours and van transport if needed.

Breakfast options can be improved. The hotel is tucked in a residential area, which can be a challenge to find. The local road is under construction, so take extra caution if you are driving.

We got a room upgrade because it was low season and not much rooms have been booked. Our room was spacious and clean and the airconditioning unit was cold. A minute of walk from the facility is a sari-sari store that is open 24 hours. We couldn’t avail of our breakfast because we had to leave very early in the morning, so we had been given a packed hearty sandwich and bananas before we left. Plus points because the facility is located more or less 5-minute drive to the airport.

The only point for improvement would be the shower heater. It wouldn’t warm the water as it should.

We came back here because of nostalgia and we were happy to see that it still has the same vibe as before. The property and room are as we remembered, and the bathroom still has the same quality tile and ceramics. (Although, some people would say the decor is dated...)

It was great that they offered free wi-fi. It would have been better if the signal was strong inside the room... We loved that they have a free airport transfer service, which we availed of. (The airport is 7 minutes away.)

A classy resort with an Italian flair. Lovely spacious,well appointed rooms with a nice balcony. A great pool cleaned daily with good lounging facilities. An outdoor gym. A nice outdoor restaurant. Free water fill up all day and night. Free coffee/tea during the breakfast hours. Friendly helpful staff. Good location 10 minutes from airport, market and supermarket 5 minutes away.

The 700 peso charge for airport transfer if not between 9am-5pm which is free during day A taxi cost was 200 peso.

It was very pleasant eating in the covered, outdoor dining room and bar. The grounds are landscaped, clean, and well maintained. The pool exceeded my expectation. The water was clean and warm making it very pleasurable for an after-diner, evening swim. The rooms are clean, cool, and roomy, and the beds are comfortable. Since I am always on a budget, this facility is nicer than what I usually stay at. I was well pleased with what I got for the price. Upon registering, a complimentary fruit drink was served to quinch our thirst. Hard to beat that kind of service.

Nothing not to like. It would have been nice to have an ocean view, but you can't have everything.

This is a nice setup in the middle of the city. Perfect place to relax when you arrive or when you are waiting for the next flight. Staff are nice. There is a pool to make a splash. It is easy access next to airport with a free shuttle if needed. Easy to catch a tricycle. The WIFI works !!!!

I do not have anything to comment on this. I will pick the same place when I come back to Puerta Princessa.
