Sophias Beach Guest House

I really LOVED my stay at Sophia’s this week! I’m from Australia and I did a solo 4 night stay at Sophia’s to sight see and do some island hopping whilst my Mum was visiting family in Manila. From the moment I stepped in, all the staff were so accomodating and friendly! My room was very clean, the complimentary breakfast was served fresh and hot from the in house chefs daily. My airport and island tour transfers were all on time and the staff were always available to answer any questions I had (I had many lol) The top level is truly one of the best views of El Nido. Every morning I’d get up early to have breakfast on the balcony and take in the view. It’s a 180 degree view of the ocean, beach and mountains. The beach is also literally on the back doorstep. The other things I liked about my accommodation were the external same day laundry service they provide (hard to find in El Nido on the streets) and ordering takeaway which the staff helped me order over the phone. The staff also know the area very well and recommended some lovely beaches to go to in my downtime which I really appreciated! The guest house is approx a 15-20 minute walk to El Nido town and the fresh produce and meat is about 300m away. Sophia’s will not disappoint! Hope you enjoy El Nido as much as I did!

Sophia’s is a 10/10 must stay if you are travelling to El Nido! The location of this guest house is absolutely perfect - not only is it literally on the beach, you are still at a close enough distance to walk into town (around 15 mins). The staff working during our stay really were outstanding; throughout us asking about the boat tours, transport/getting around and general enquiries, all were incredibly polite and helpful. Although we only ate the breakfast, every day it was fresh and very delicious, with many options to suit your fancy. Compared to many of the other hotel options in the area, at Sophia’s we felt it to be a ‘home-from- home’, calm and relaxed environment; whilst also very safe (including leaving our belongings with the staff when needed).

Convenient location, near the town dock and right on the beach.10 min walk to town or an easy 100 peso tricycle ride. Friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful view from the breakfast balcony..Breakfast was adequate6 but nothing special. A/C worked well. Kayaks were available for rent, also beach shoes were free to use. All boat tours and trips to airport/Puerto Princesa were bookable from the hotel.

My room had no window, just french doors opening onto a communal area, so had to keep curtains closed for privacy. Our end of the beach was not very clean, with trash and broken glass, not the hotels fault of course, but if you wanted to swim you had to walk the entire length of the beach to find somewhere safer.ì8

The staff are amazing. Really helpful and friendly. Location to the water was spot on although it's not really a swimming beach, more of a port which was fun watching the boats come and go. Close to town, all day sun and great views from the front rooms

We find the beds rather hard but found that where ever we stayed so it's a Philippines thing. The rooms aren't serviced which I am all good with but it would have be nice to have a broom, something to clean the bathroom with and the bathroom rubbish bin to be emptied over the 5 days we were there

The location is amazing , great view of El Nido, Great staff, comfortable beds, clean room and bathroom and delicious breakfast , Kayak rental at the property is plus factor 😍

I loved everything! This guesthouse is nested on the beach. The room has all the necessary amenities (towels, soap, dental kit, etc) fridge etc. There are few breakfast options and you're asked to choose yours in the evening so it's freshly done in the morning. The staff is kind and helpful. Also, there is a really cute dog roaming around. One thing worth mentioning is that windows on the ground floor face the patio, which means someone can be passing next to it. If that is disturbing to you, request a room on the first floor.

It's true what other reviews say about thin walls: yes, you can hear other people talking but it wasn't annoying to me.

The personnel were very nice from the beginning and I really enjoyed how they treated me after my accident. They even got me meds, since I needed new painkillers. I also love the dog Kyle, he always wants belly rubs. Big plus for him The breakfast was very nice and tasted good It's also very convenient that you can book the tours, a scooter and also the transport to the hotel and to Puerto Princessa via the hotel.

In my opinion the bathroom needs a renovation but all in all it was sufficient

This place is SO special!!! Beautiful waterfront location, not in the main area so it’s nice and quiet. It’s only a 10-15min walk to the town or you can take a tricycle. The rooms were basic but the beds were so comfortable, shower had hot water and best of all was the lovely staff! My friend and I ended up fleeing a noisy place in the town on our last night and returning to Sophia’s— they were waiting for us after we called with our room ready and cooled down already with the AC on. They are the loveliest people we met in the Philippines! We absolutely adored this place and would 100% recommend it to anyone staying in El Nido.

Wifi wasn’t great in the rooms but on the little upper sun deck it worked good. A drying rack would be awesome to hang wet clothes at the end of the day.

We like it's a beach front property we like the staff they are very helpful we like that they sell some.snacks at the lobby and can arrange tours the beds are comfortable and very good sheets (hard to find in budget resorts in Palawan!) they have breakfast which needed some heating but it's good. kayak rental was good too and we can kayak.to a nearby private beach which was awesome! location was good too many good restaurants nearby
