Initial checkin was quite unfriendly
We would have appreciated use of a courtesy coach to take us to the bus terminal. Is cost $80 for the 4 of us for a 5 minute trip!!! We could have walked if reception had let us know how close it was or been given a life in the Beachcomber van which went out at the same time as our taxi.

This hotel was a delightful surprise, extremely well located, great views, nice short walk into town for coffee or meals. Our ground-level room had a beautiful glass door opening onto a lawn that was unexpected. Nice bed & comfort level all around. Location well situated for turning in rental car & catching the ferry. Honestly, that was the only reason we stayed at this hotel and Picton, but wished we had booked more days. Very very pleasant! Feel this hotel is a cut above all the other choices in the area!
Charge-bar items in small fridge. Left almost no room for anything else. Thought those were a bit out-of-favor these days, been awhile since I've seen a hotel do that.

Helpfulness of staff. especially when it appears I booked the wrong room due to my inferior compatibility with technology. When it became a bit impractical to move furniture to suit Suzanne just completely swapped us out into an apartment.Awesome view from the room and such a central location to town. Couldn't have asked for a better and more willing service. Thank you so much to your team for an excellent stay/break. Absolutely recommend Beachcomber Inn, Picton

The Receptionist/Office Manager was very helpful. We were towing and I had forgotten to book an appropriate space. The Receptionist was able to problem solve our issue and found a space to use. We were so relieved. The location was beautiful, the rooms were very lovely, clean and modern. The shower was amazing. Special mention to the Chalet maids for the very clean and professionally presented room. The view of the Picton Harbour was awesome. Dinning opportunities were bountiful. Their information folder was really good too. We would definitely stay again. Thank you Team Beachcomber Inn. xo

I stayed two nights at the Beachcomber Inn, the night before and the night after the Queen Charlotte walk. It is clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully appointed. It is not slick or ultra-modern, but it is tastefully decorated. And each room has a lovely balcony with an attractive view onto the marina immediately in front. It is positioned close enough to the boat and ferry services that I did not have to call a cab and managed to drag my heavy suitcase down the street.
The second night I had a spa bath in the bathroom. To have a shower I had to climb into the spa bath. I think this is dangerous - too easy to catch your leg and fall as you climb in or out of the spa bath.

Very nice room with everything we required for our overnight stay. This hotel style room included a mini kitchen, which was great. Safe parking is included. Big plus is a great onsite restaurant. (Recommend you prebook as it's popular with the locals)
Most of the rooms have a great harbour view. Ours did not. We kind of knew this when booking and were not worried. If you want a good view, make sure you book the right room.

Outstanding location - also views of the bay and all the various sea going activities was great
A shame the restaurant wasn't available - chef ill. Would prefer air-con unit - room was warm enough but got very hot in the afternoon (great weather), but opening windows doors a bit challenging because of wind direction. The large fan could be the answer but only saw that hidden behind the curtain as we tidied the room to leave.

very central location, rooms very clean and a well enough equipped kitchenette with fridge, kettle etc. Beds were a 7/10 for comfort but a god size and nice quality bed linen
WiFi was worse than useless - made planning the next stage of our trip very difficult which was extremely frustrating. Staff explained they have been having ongoing problems for quite a while - would have been nice to know before we arrived and not sure they should say they have WiFi in their room descriptions until their new system is in.

Close to ferry terminal. Staff adapted to allow for our ferry arriving much later than expected, Thankyou. Appreciated the electric blanket as this was mid winter . An extra cover for the bed would have been better. Good aircon, good parking
Ask for a room away from the road if you are a light sleeper, my husband didn’t notice the road noise. We were unaware that breakfast needs to be booked before 5pm the night before. There are many lovely options nearby.

We arrived late at the hotel due to several hours delay with the ferry from Wellington. The front desk was closed (I believe they close at 19h) but we had communicated with them and they left us the key and the instructions to get to our room. The room was large and comfortable, with a great view of the marina. The bed was nice and we slept well.
The opening hours for the front desk are limited to 9am to 7pm. We were bit anxious about our late arrival but everything worked out fine.
