Anchorage Motor Lodge

A clean and spacious room, beautiful bathroom, kitchenette was well stocked and equipped. The bed and linen were excellent quality. Nice view to the marina.

The owners/managers dog barking and even being on the property was very disappointing. After a long drive relaxing was impossible. They did not reply to my call complaining and when I spoke to the receptionist asking when it would be going home was told later that evening and it was back again barking just after 8 am the next morning. There is a "no noise policy" in their terms and conditions. Also other "guests" came home late and talking loudly and drinking on the deck well after 11 pm. Would not return to this accomodation as it seems there are no "live on site" staff to speak with fellow travellers that have no consideration for other people. So glad we were only there for one night.

Size of the motel was good for 4 adults and the location was convenient for cafes, restaurants and walking. Outstanding views from the 2nd floor we could have been anywhere in the world

Our party was 4 adults so one had to use the sofa bed which we had to make up and which was not comfortable. Toilet in the bathroom was not overly convenient. The cost for one night was eyewaterinw, would have loved to stay two nights but that was out of the question.

Location. Ease of access to the room via lift or stairs Room was very cean and very spacious. Super friendly staff from reception to cleaning staff. Easy fast check-in no hassle. Will defs stay here again.

-Couldn't find the air con remote. -The jets in the spa bath ddnt work. -Possible recommendation to installing or adding USB wall sockets to the plug/power outlet points/wall mount plates to charge phones as well and Normal plugs incase people forget their wall/charger adapters and can't charge their phones...just a recommendation though. Overall it was an awesome overnight stay.

Everything apart from the fact that we were stranded for four days because of the cyclone Gabrielle! The staff were awesome and really went above and beyond for us to try to make it as bearable as possible. They cooked for us all on a Bar-B-Q so we could have hot water for tea/coffee as there was no power, internet, wifi, means of getting fuel for our cars or any way out of the town because all the bridges were down. There was no information given out by the government either. The staff were wonderful.

The hotel is in a great location overlooking the inner harbour, with good views from the first floor and above. Some nice cafes and restuarants a few minutes walk along West Quay to choose from, or you can drive the eight minutes to the centre of town.

Would have liked a more private balcony to take in those views. As it is, the balcony doubles as the corridor to all the upper floor rooms.

We booked a studio room and were pleasantly surprised at the space available. Nice to have a table and chairs plus other comfortable chairs to sit on. Lovely big shower with plenty of water pressure. Bed was comfortable and everything was clean.

The only thing I could fault was the soundproofing. We could hear someone snoring in the next room, but it didn't keep us awake.

The location is great for the walk to pubs and restaurants near by and a very quick car ride (if you're less actively inclined) to the CBD. The Fish and chip shop just down the road has fantastic fish and good walk back (its still hot). The cafe called "Unlces" has the best pastries and decent coffee. They come recommended by the 6 year old!

No cooking facilties in the room which is a bit hard with 3 kids under 12 as they don't like the bars and restaurants.

Good location

Our room stunk of a very strong paint smell. When I told the receptionist she just said oh it had been painted last week. The smell was really bad and not good to be breathing in paint fumes all night. I probably should of said straight away after checking in to room and asked to change rooms or they should of checked the room before putting guests in there.

The place is lovel to stay at normally, it is a great place and I have stayed here a few times.

cleaners need to ensure they clean properly. The bath had hair in it, and the side of the bath was dirty. Their was no dish cloth and tea towel. The next day, the rubbish bag from under the sink was left on draw. When we return that afternoon.

we were trapped at this motel during the cyclone Gabrielle. The host\staff went out of their way to make guests as comfortable as possible under the circumstances. They also provided meals from their own supplies and hot water using BBQ and other portable equipment, and would not accept any payment for this.
