It is a great central location for exploring the heat of Christchurch and restaurants and cafes are walking distance along with markets and shopping opportunities. the Reception staff were all very friendly and welcoming and also very accommodating.
found shards of glass on the bathroom floor on day two. room service trays were left by the lift for over 24 hours

The location of the hotel is great, quite near to market, restaurants and main city center. Behaviour of staff was very good. Cleanliness was great.
The size of the queen size bed was very small. It's difficult to fit two persons comfortably. The hotel should keep more number of rooms with twin beds. Also, in the continental breakfast, some day they ran out of butter, some day they ran out of cornflakes, which is not a good impression on customer's part. The menu of continental breakfast was very limited, if someone needs hot buffet breakfast items, they need to pay extra NZD 16, which I think should have been included in complimentary breakfast

The location is excellent. It is in the city center and very convenient. It a small hotel and very personable.
TL:DR; The elevators were slow. The elevators we extremely busy in the middle of the day including when we trying to head down for check out. With only two elevators, it seemed a bit over-utilized by the cleaning staff. I am not sure if they have a separate service elevator and perhaps it wasn't in use? Also, the building has residences and the separation of elevator controls seems to cause some confusion for other guests.

I asked for a quiet room away from the elevator and my request was met. New bathroom was attractive. Beds were very comfortable. Location was central to city and many eateries which allowed us to do everything we wanted to.
Many aspects of this hotel have been recently renovated but some very old, chipped paintwork and the odd cracked tile in the elevator area is evident which is distasteful. A non slip mat was provided for the shower/bath combo but when showering it covered the plug which meant the water couldn't drain away and you end up standing in the water. The kettle needs to be relocated otherwise the new cabinetry will quickly deteriorate due to steam damage. For us, the Nespresso pods were not a pleasant taste, but perhaps that's a matter of personal preference. Coffee mugs would definitely be a good addition.

Good central location easy walking distance to good restaurants, shops, attractions and the metro airport bus stop. The room was very clean with a comfortable bed and a good size bathroom . Great value.
Superior King Room size is not very roomy, due to the space occupied by the work desk and corner armchair. We were only travelling with carry on luggage so it wasn’t a problem. The minibar had a poor selection of goods particularly when arriving on a midnight flight, as no crisps, nuts or wine available.

Super comfortable bed, nice and and quiet rooms. Staff at reception were extremely helpful and friendly, they made me feel very welcomed. Complimentary tea, Nespresso coffee pods and a coffee machine were a nice touch. The views over the city were amazing, and the location is in a prime spot too, an easy walk to all locations in Christchurch CBD.
Having to pay an extra $100 bond when checking-in. It's refundable, and understandable why they do it, but I was just caught a bit off guard and wished there was a clearer heads-up. Also the gym was tiny, no weights machine at all, and the only bench was not working properly.

The location of the hotel was excellent, the room was spacious and met all our needs. The staff were all polite and helpful and nothing was too much trouble for them.
As a whole our room was great, however, there were a couple of just tiny issues that can be addressed easily: 1) The toilet flush was not fixed to the wall 2) The net curtain did not draw across fully leaving a gap- I used hair grips to pull the curtain together 3) The heatpump was very dusty and a potential fire hazard 4) The lip in/out if the bathroom is a real slip trip or fall hazard and on a couple of occasions I did trip going in or out of the bathroom

Location opposite New Regent street and just a short block away from Convention Centre is excellent. Bathroom clean and very functional. Bed and pillows very comfortable. Check in easy. Good hairdryer.
The air conditioning was noisy and I had to turn it off to sleep, thus only 8/10 total score. The fridge was noisy and I had to pull it out to reach behind it to turn it off to sleep (a common problem with hotels - it would help to have the switch somewhere accessible). (Also, very nitpicky, but there was no pen in the room!)

Asked for a room on a high floor so that we could get a good view - Ended up on 13th Floor in a corner room which had great views in two directions - city lights absolutely stunning at night & could pick out many landmarks during the day. So much harder to orient with so many landmarks destroyed in the earthquakes but made it so much easier after the views from our room. Breakfasts & Dinners were great.
We should have used the hotel parking - my fault for not choosing that.

The staff were really helpful. When checking in I mentioned I hadn't been to Christchurch before. The guy gave me a map, explained how the tram service worked and where many of the popular things to see were and closing times. Excellent service. I had asked for a quiet room away from lifts etc and they were happy to do so. My room faced New Regent St and I did hear some noise from the eaterie and bars on Friday night but not enough to be annoying. The first night I dined in the restaurant. The waitress was very helpful and the service and food was excellent. The location right beside the Tram station was fantastic. I was able to keep my luggage at the motel after I checked out for a couple of hours while I finished the last of my sightseeing before my shuttle arrived and the lady at check out was lovely and helpful also.
The 2nd night the restaurant I think was a little short staffed. They didn't have some of the ingredients for non-alcoholic beverages so was a limited selection. I am quiet spoken and the waiter may not have heard me properly so when one of the entrees arrived ..it wasn't what I was expecting.. but was delicious nonetheless. He was quite flustered and busy but it would maybe have been a good idea to maybe confirm my order. Basically a miscommunication.
