Long John's Pub & Hotel

I went to Amersfoort for some work related trainings and seeing that this was a business trip, unfortunately we had a very limited time to explore the surroundings, however, one of the great advantages of this hotel was that it was exactly in the city center. You cannot be more in the city center than this :). First great impression was from the staff who were really friendly and helpful, always smiling and actually took the time to write "welcome" on my card key holder in my native language! I know it might not feel as much but it's the little things and that attention to details that I really appreciate. The room was cozy and the only things that was missing were a pair of slippers (I forgot to take my own) and the shower gel, but it wasn't a problem because I always bring mine along. To be honest, I think the cleaning staff just forgot to refill it and I could of just asked. Another great thing is that you are 5 min away walking distance from a good supermarket with reasonable prices (Coop) and of course other places like Starbucks, Taco Bell, McDonalds etc. For us it didn't matter because the hotel has a very nice and cozy pub with reasonable prices and good food, also a lot of vegetarian options if you're into that. Even though the pub gets a bit noisy, I hardly heard any noise in my room and was able to sleep very well. Thank you very much for your warm welcome and positive attitude, please never change because this is the main thing that makes this experience special! Hope I will come back soon, this time for a well deserved vacation!

I cannot say that I disliked anything. It is a great hotel with great staff that really add a lot of value to the whole experience. I highly recommend staying here.

The staff were welcoming and helpful. Sena in particularly was very friendly and helped me carry my bags to and from storage. The keycard system was easy and secure. My room was spacious and comfortable. The facilities were great and functional. The house cleaner was very lovely and did a great job tidying my room each day. The location was perfect, right in the heart of the city next to the tower. I would definitely stay again!

The location is great, right in the city center of Amersfoort. The staff is very friendly, and the pub is beautiful! The room was clean in general and the bed was very comfortable. The room was bigger than I expected, a great size for one star, and it included a big table.

My only complaint is about the room's shower. As soon as I entered the room, I notice the musty smell. Later I saw the reason why: the ceiling was moldy. The tile grout of the shower was also moldy, which makes the stay less pleasant. Basic cleaning was done, it wasn't dirty, but it needs a deeper cleaning and mold removal.

really enjoyed my stay here which was a late booking due to train strike. I was aware when booking that the room was not EnSuite however it did have a shower and sink so just w/c shared. Room was clean and comfortable and quiet despite overlooking the square with multiple cafes. Made to feel welcome from the outset. Great beer garden good beer and good food at reasonable prices. Plenty of other food options within a few seconds walk! English spoken.

A bit of a trek from the station - but walkable and well worth it

Amazing central location, view from the window to the nice old house, closed windows isolated from the street noise quite good, feeling of coziness

although imperfections in the room may add to some cozy vibe, it would be good to fix some details in the toilet, fix one of the lamps which was not working, and clean the huge layer of dust on the ceiling fan. also, the walls need some basic renovation.

It is really well located, right besides the church, which is one of the main sights, on a lovely square that comes to life in the evening with plenty of good restaurants. The pub downstairs is very pleasant and reasonably priced for the Netherlands. In our experience, it was quiet enough to sleep with our window open.

Very friendly staff, comfortable room and fantastic location within the city centre. Easy check in at the bar located downstairs where we also had a few drinks with some family that commented on how nice the place was. Will definitely be staying here again next time we're visiting. Highly recommend!

We were lucky to have the room number 1 and it was wonderful, surprisingly quiet considering we were just below the pub. Of course we could hear the party sounds, but it didnt last very long, and it is to be expected when sleeping in a city center. The staff was absolutely charming, bed and pillows confortable. An incredible good value hostel in a lovely city.

It was very clean, the happy staff was friendly to us. And the breakfast was incredibly good.

It’s located in a picturesque square where there are some bars which makes a bit noisy environment at night… but we could manage to sleep well anyway.

Brilliant location, friendly helpful staff, greatfood and drink choices. The loyalty card and Street map and tourist info was a nice perk when checking in.

Nothing! The room had a ceiling fan and the window opened into the beer garden which was great for me.
