Hotel Alma de Oaxaca

The breakfast each morning, served from the top floor, was delicious! Isabela and Christina, and their staff, were wonderful in making us feel welcome, and served up a variety of traditional dishes that were scrumptious. Nash at the front desk was like a daily ray of sunshine with recommendations to some great restaurants, sightseeing, and even a place to dance!

As hard as we tried to find any room for improvement at this hotel, we couldn't come up with anything.

The room was clean and had a balcony and ac. Internet connection is stable and warm water is coming fast and well. Good breakfast with a lot of options: 2 slices of bread with butter and strawberry jam, a plate of fruit and a dish of either egg, egg with spinach or quesadillas and coffee. Nice roof terrace and parking lot. Personnel in the lobby very welcoming.

The personnel of the breakfast does not explain all details of the breakfast very well, e.g. we asked what options they had and what ingredients it includes, the information were provided incomplete, e.g. egg comes with spinach and onions, information was "egg with spinach". We observed this as well with other guests. The pillows are quite hard and the sink in the bathroom is really small. All small details that are not too bad at all.

Very clean, comfortable bed, good shower and quiet even though it’s in a busy area. The room was cleaned everyday with free bottles of water for each of us which was much appreciated. The staff were really friendly (except one guy who was always grumpy!) and helped us to get to Monte Alban and book a taxi to the airport. They have a gorgeous roof terrace which is underused - it would be perfect for a bar or cafe.

The area is very local and busy/hectic. We preferred going out in the north of Centro - although this is only a 10-15min walk away, and we felt quite safe walking home at night together. The breakfast wasn’t great - a few pieces of melon and some yoghurt with grains.

The staff was super helpful and accommodated our bags when our flight home was canceled. The hotel was a good location, close to Mercado Benito Juarez

The staff, especially Joanna, were very helpful and kind. The room had AC, although we didn't use it. The water pressure was fantastic. It was clean and exactly what we needed! The location is perfect. It's very walkable to many sites and other neighborhoods.

The breakfast that's included is pretty disappointing. The toast is from a package and is full of sugar, the yogurt is sweet+flavoured. I'd have loved some healthier options and other fruit. The shower gets water all over the floor no matter how careful you are about keeping the doors shut.

Good location close to Mercados and Zócalo. Located on a busy street that quiets down at night. Neighborhood felt very safe. Staff very friendly and helpful. Daily breakfast includes coffee, fruit and toast. Additional food can be ordered for reasonable price. Nice rooftop patio for relaxing and viewing city and sunsets.

We had no complaints with hotel or staff.

Amazing and super helpful staff that made our stay really special by giving us great recommendations about activities but doing them the cheaper way! Also, free breakfast in the morning was a wonderful surprise. The room was small but had everything we needed in a central location. Will be visiting again!

Great base for a few days in Oaxaca. The room was basic but functional, with great AC. There is a water machine and coffee facilities in the lobby which were great too. They also lock the front of the hotel through the night which was really safe.

A few of the nights there was a lot of noise in the early hours, so we had to ring reception. But to be fair, they did sort it out very quickly. The room doesn’t have much light as the rooms are internal facing so the only window is out onto the corridor.

We loved our stay at Real Alma. We arrived early and were able to store our bags while we got lunch. Fabulous location by the main market and walking distance to main square. The room was clean and spacious, with great wifi and air conditioning. We loved the breakfast each morning on the rooftop! Highly recommend staying here!
