Comala is in an excellent location. The accommodations are humble and our room was small, but the bed was incredibly comfortable and Andres, the host, was incredible welcoming, friendly and kind. It felt very much like we were staying with friends. Room was basic, but had everything we needed, including great air conditioning during extremely hot weather. We walked everywhere in and found the location to be very convenient. Would most certainly stay here again when in Oaxaca.

Room was very small, but cozy.

The people who work there made the experience exceptional. Andres was super friendly and always there to help. César and Daniela were nice and helpful too. Andres even made me a coffee when the shops were closed and my taxi was waiting for the airport. The rooftop is incredible and a really nice, peaceful ambiance. The location was great, an easy walk to so many things. The mattresses were perfect for me, super molding foam. There was always a bottle of water each day in the room.

There were issues with the shower. There wasn't always hot water or it would run out very quickly. The pressure could be very weak sometimes.

This was a fantastic place to stay with so much going for it. Great locations, nice rooms, beautiful rooftop area with great views and the most delightful staff of any hotel we’ve been to in Mexico. They went above and beyond to make sure our stay was as great as it could be and helped us with any questions we had. We had early starts both mornings we were there so we unfortunately didn’t get to try the breakfast that was included but we did have lunch at the restaurant there and it was delicious so i can only assume the same about the breakfast. The location is excellent in walking distance to the main areas of Oaxaca. The room was clean, nice and simple and had everything we needed

The only thing I have to say was that the bathroom was a bit small so it was hard to move around but apart from that everything was perfect

proximity to points of interest 7-14 min walking max ( eg jardin etnobotanico/ jalatlaco neighborhood). super clean. very attentive communication about arrival. Andres the manager makes the stay smooth. Cesar the waiter was very sweet and generally the whole staff is very kind. I felt very safe at this property. the rooms are smaller but very functional and the cleaning staff kept it spotless.

nothing. they even offered to use their kitchen fridge if I had food to store.

The location is excellent, right in town, very near to restaurants, zocalo, market etc. Found it because it was near the starting point of a tour I booked, which was also excellent btw (By Locals). The staff was helpful, specially the guy who welcomes us (don’e recall his name :( curly haired and there most of the day. He is probably the nicest, friendliest and most helpful hotel personnel I have ever met. The hotel is small, but all we needed was a place to sleep since the trip was short and I wanted to be out exploring most of the day. However, the room has absolutely everything you need and very clean. Ac, tv, bathroom, wifi, comfy bed and pillows. Totally recommend.

Can’t think of anything.

We are from the US and normally stay at Air b n b’s but after recent bad experiences we decided on trying small hotels. We loved Comala and it’s staff. From the moment we arrived which was a bit late because our plane was delayed we received a very warm welcome. The bed was comfortable. The shower had a great flow of water with plenty of hot water. The location is wonderful and so safe. It’s close to the city center but not so close that you will be surrounded by too much people or noise. We wanted to see some historical and popular sites and the staff was able to recommend legitimate tour companies that could take us there. We had a great experience in Oaxaca and believe we were able to embrace each moment that we were there thanks to the Comala hotel and its staff. They even called a taxi for us to take us to the airport. It was truly a great experience. We will definitely come back to Oaxaca and stay here again!!!

We loved it all!!!!

The location of Comala is awesome. Close enough to the centre to be in the hustle and bustle in a few hundred meters but far enough out to get away from the crazy tourist centre and into a more relaxed atmosphere to sleep. That being said there are very cool bars and restaurants within a few meters of the front door. It is just not in the centre of town. the staff were all amazing. You can get a decent breakfast on the terrace of the BnB which has cool views of the city. The place has a rustic vibe and relaxed feel which suits it so if you looking for something a little more on the fancy side you need to look elsewhere. Good value for money.

The bedding could do with an upgrade but was fine.

It was in a very central location, only around 10 mins walk to Zocalo Square and minutes away from several restaurants and cafes. The room was clean, had a TV with YouTube etc. and good Wi-Fi. The rooftop was a nice touch and the breakfast was lovely. The host was very hospitable even with the language barrier. He always had a smile on his face and was ready to help with whatever we needed. He provided us with washing powder, let us store our luggage after checking out and arranged a taxi to the airport. Thank you Andres. Highly recommend

Small bathroom

Great location, very central. The room was clean and had what we needed. Good pillows, AC, cabinet, small table for laptop work, safe in cabinet. Breakfast was great and when we had to leave early for a tour we were given a bag with fruit and our coffee in to go cups. Andres was super hospitable and the staff were very polite and nice. I'll def stay here again when we go back to Oaxaca.

Extra towels -- but we asked for 1 more each and got them so ultimately this wasn't an issue.

I loved the whole experience! Although the rooms were quite basic and the bathroom was a little small, it was probably one of the most comfortable and enjoyable stays I've ever had in a new city. The place was immaculately clean, and the staff was awesome. I felt very taken care of. The location was great. The food (not included) was reasonably priced and delicious. The rooftop bar/restaurant was amazing! I can't wait to return.
