This is the place to be in Palenque, with large and beautifully decorated rooms. The original founder of the hotel designed the place as a Maya village, successfully decorating it with nice copies of Maya art. There is a large garden and lake with great jungle feel (and visited by animals like howler monkeys and exotic birds, including an ara). The swimming pool area is very inviting for some time off after visits.
Breakfast and dinner were acceptable, but not great (e.g. orange juice not available at breakfast). Probably due to low season (we were the only guests). We asked for a room with twin beds for the family, but that could not be arranged (even though the hotel was almost entirely unoccupied). Some of the equipment starts to feel dated, e.g. the coffee maker in the room didn't work and the airco in one of the rooms was very noisy (in the other room it was newer and worked fine).

The room was huge and well-appointed with a mini bar stocked with not only complimentary water but also with complimentary beer & soft drinks. The bathroom was also huge & the shower had 2 shower heads, a regular one & a rain shower one overhead. The a/c worked fine as well as the 2 ceiling fans. The outdoor porch sitting area was very nice, too. The staff were all very helpful, cheerful & nice. Lastly, the food was truly excellent!!
The only thing we didn’t like was the very noisy racket made by the howling monkeys @ 4 in the morning which lasted almost an hour. I used earplugs in both ears & I could still hear them. I realize that’s something the hotel can do nothing about & it only happened on one of the 3 nights we stayed. We would only like to recommend d putting a towel bar inside the enormous shower. That would be convenient for hanging wet swesuots or just your bath towel.

friendly staff - especially in the restaurant very comfortable room with lots of space, critter free which is important to me in the jungle good location for Palenque archeological site their recommended driver - Sergio - looked after us for 4 days. he was great and I would highly recommend. he’s not a tour guide; but he’s so much more than a driver. we appreciated being driven everywhere privately, beating crowds and having someone take care of our tickets, tolls, taxes, boats and we got enough explanations through the powers of Google translate for what we needed
didn’t see any other guests the whole time - suggest a happy hour to get everyone together

I LOVED the location, and the jungle feel of this hotel. The lagoon with the crocodile and macaws, and monkeys were amazing to be amongst. The staff were very attentive, and helpful and went above and beyond. My sister lost her prescription sunglasses in the lagoon, and a staff member tried to fish them out. Very lovely staff. You can walk around and it was very pleasant. I LOVED Palenque and this was a lovely place to stay. Our room was clean, large and the AC and Wifi were great.
Its not that we disliked anything at all, but we did think a bit of a drinking bar/lounge area that overlooked the greenery and had a bit of ambience would have been nice, and maybe a place with a small library. It is quite pricey for the area, but we did enjoy ourselves and loved the lagoon especially. There were a LOT of biting ants by the pool as well......but we also know in the tropics you get ants, but they were wrecking our swimtime as we tried to get into the pool, and they were all over our shoes. The pool was nice though...........and my negatives are just what I could see as some improvements. It was overall lovely.

Charming boutique hotel in a rain forest-type setting outside of town. Really enjoyed the tropical feel along with the birds and monkey sounds around us. Rooms and facilities were very clean and well kept. The food and drinks at the hotel were delicious. here is only a few rooms in the hotel so we felt like we had the place to ourselves. It costs a little more than you would pay in town but my wife and I thought it was a good value. Having an on-sit masseuse was a huge plus after a long day of tromping around the ruins!

If you are looking for a slice of heaven, don't hesitate to visit this charming resort. Honestly, I don't know where to begin. We arrived around 3pm, after a long drive from San Cristobol de las Casas, tired and hungry. We were welcomed by Daniel and given a tour of the property. Nothing short of amazing, but we hadn't eaten since 8AM and it was now after 3pm and our hunger took precedence. Misael greeted us in the restaurant and quickly brought cervezas and margaritas while we perused the menu and took in the Mayan decor of the dining room. Lunch was perfect! Tostadas for the Mr. and a Chiapan chicken dish for me. We retired to our room which was very large, with a super comfy bed, where we proceeded to fall asleep. We woke up hungry and opted for room service. Misael brought us a beautiful plate of antipasto and wine. Perfect end to a long day. The following day we were served by Carlos and Ulises during the day. Wonderful breakfast, followed by a trip to the Palenque archeological site, arranged by the front office. They also arranged for a massage for me, for the following day. We spent the afternoon by the amazing pools reading and entertained by the Howler Monkeys (so amazing), followed by another amazing lunch and dinner in the dining room. The primary purpose for our visit, besides to visit the arch. site, was relaxation. The hotel and staff delivered more than could have been expected. The massage therapist was exceptional! The beauty and tranquility of the property and accommodations were a dream. We literally felt as though we had stepped back to a place in time where things moved slower, nature was an adventure and a holiday was to be savored. We enjoyed each and every lovingly prepared meal at the hotel and each and every visit with the staff. What they have is so precious and clearly they all cherish and nurture it!
I can't think of a single thing.

This is the best quality hotel in Palenque. The food was excellent as was the service. There are only 8 rooms so the attention you receive is very dedicated. We found the food in Palenque be quite mediocre so having delicious food at the hotel was a blessing! the room was very large and comfortable.
I would have liked the price to reflect the rustic style of the property. I think it was a bit overpriced compared to all hotels in the area, but I suppose they justify the price knowing it’s the best hotel in town. We stayed at an AirBnB that had great reviews one night, and it didn’t come close to competing with this hotel.

The grounds are amazing. The pool is also unique and tranquil with it being set into the natural setting. It was set apart from the hotel but all of that added to the uniqueness of the resort. And the staff went out of their way to ensure we had a fabulous experience. We got to feed the howler monkeys that live in the jungle by the hotel. Aracely and Dennis coaxed them down and gave us bananas to feed them. What an awesome experience!
The bathroom could use more hooks. That’s really our only gripe.

The location is amazing, and the hotel so! Great rooms, great restaurant and great pool surrounded by forest. We saw monkeys, a parrot, bats and more during our stay at the hotel. The staff is so kind and helpfull. The maya ruins and the jungle is close by, you can just take the collectivo-bus a few hundred meters from the hotel to go there. We would really recommend this hotel!

We LOVED the location of this small hotel. The Staff were outstanding and tried very hard to please us with our requests. The decor was lovely. We loved the animals, monkeys and little crocodilla. The jungle was amazing - I LOVE Chiapas jungle. Macaws, and monkeys and everything was perfect.
The only thing we didnt like were the biting ants by the pool. We also realize that it is the jungle and there are ants. Gorgeous jungle.....I am in love with it.
