Rain Forest Hotel

Great location in Chinatown, close to some great food places. Had a kettle, toaster, fridge and drinking water available to use. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly and always available. Aircon really good. At first we were put in a room with a window but the window lock wasn’t that secure so we asked to move and they gave us the option of 3 other rooms to choose from. 4 shared hot showers and 5 shared toilets available, cleaned daily. Beds are comfy, the duvets are a little small so we asked for another and they were happy to provide one. Close to metro station Pasar Seni so it is well linked with the rest of the city. Petronas towers are a 40min walk, Jalan Alor is 20-25min walk away. We stayed here for 5 nights and the place is great value for money.

Rooms are basic but it’s what we need. If you are in a room close to the terrace then I can imagine music from the street being quite loud but we didn’t hear it from our room 318.

The receptionist Irene is just such a sweetheart! She takes care of your every problem with great care or explains in such a thorrow way way some things the place cannot be of help with. As a low cost hotel it does not have all the comforts, yet it provides you with more you could expect for this money in KL. The rooftop balcony is a very cute space where to take care of your emails or read a bit, plus the Chinatown area itself is a blessing. Filled with great places to eat, it also shares a glimpse of what KL might have looked like a long time ago, whilst the rest of the city is a bit too much of a skyscraper-land to me.

The WiFi connection is a bit tricky. You kind of have it, but have to go through a bit of a hassle every time you connect to find the network with the strongest signal (they have several).

Thus is such a great guest house, perfectly located for china town and the underground. The rooms are clean and very comfortable with a nice big bed and good air-conditioning. There is hot water in the bathrooms. The roof terrace is a real highlight with views of the city. Hot and cold filtered water is available to help yourself and there is a fridge. The best thing though is Irene who runs the hotel. She is very kind and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay ❤️

The location and facilities were nice, the staff was exceptional!!! I would definitely rate this a 4 out of 5. The location is in the center of it all near Chinatown, Petaling Street, and wonderful food options. 😋 I would absolutely stay there again. As the place was clean, the staff was very helpful - she even guided me on how to get allergy medicine and postal stamps!!! As well as provided me with a clea fan so as I didn't need to run the AC.

The only reason the facilities did not hit 5 out of 5 was due to the split AC needing to be cleaned. When the AC was turned on, there was a smell of mildew which came out. Having lived in southeast Asia previous for 3 years, I am well aware that they need to be serviced every 6-9 months to clean out the condensation and dirt that collects to prevent such odors from occurring. I would absolutely stay there again!

Great location just off Petaling Street and lots of restaurants. The staff are nice especially the lady at reception. Toilet and (hot) showers are cleaned every day and there is hot and cold drinking water. There is a small kitchenette area with communal fridge, microwaves, cutlery, bowls and plates. The twin room was a bit smaller than they looked on the pictures but the room is quite 'cosy' with comfy beds. AC and WiFi worked well. We had to extend our trip and were happy to stay here (they provide a discount if you book through them directly).

Unfortunately there was a really loud and inconsiderate guest who stayed here whilst we were here. Not the hotel's fault as they did ask them several times to be considerate to others.

The receptionist was extremely friendly, and the property, including the toilet and shower, was generally very clean. They provide bathroom slippers in the rooms and drinking water. The sound insulation of the rooms was quite good, and the hostel is located close to public transport services.

The bar across the street was playing horrible music very loudly until very late on a Friday night. It's not loud once inside the room because of good sound insulation, especially if your room is further away from the street, and it's not the fault of the property, but it's still something to take note of. I also had some difficulty connecting to the WiFi from my room.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. If you are travelling on a budget and you want to be close to public transport and a nice area for both night and day activities this is the place. The hostel is very clean, offers a nice small terrace for Chillout as well as free water. Nearby you find petaling market, the public transport (2 stations to Petronas towers, 2 stations to Bukit Bintang, 2 stations to kl sentral, to name just a few..

The staff was super nice, and the room was adequately comfortable. Not too small, very well lit, and ventilated. Had a nice balcony space with lots of greenery, a pantry, and a reading corner. Great for short stays and solo travellers.

Towels were provided, although there were no hair dryers or other toiletries. There was also a bar or party nearby that I could hear late into the night, but it wasn't too loud to bother me. Light sleepers might be affected. My room door was a bit hard to open and close too but didn't seem to be a problem with other rooms.

Really nice outside area where you can meet other guests staying there. Great that there is a fridge u can keep things in. Location was perfect.

I would have liked 2 cups in our room so we had something to make tea/coffee in as there was none in the kitchen.

Super friendly staff, they let us check in earlier, offered some oranges for free and gave informations about the area and whats worth to see. The room was clean with a toilet and shower inside, would appreciate if there was windows but AC was available and made the air fresher ! It also comes with a TV and internet connection, which can be good for some travelers!
