I use the Mayflower since 1982. It stayed open even when Israel laid siege to West-Beirut and throughout the civil war. I remember the old days with Abu George. I come to Beirut every year and would not use any other hotel. It is a question of loyalty. But beyond that the location is excellent. It couldn't be better. In the midst of Hamra. The price for a hotel room is fair. I use room 103 and it is excellent for me and my wife. Everything works well. The people who work in the hotel are very nice. I did not come to Beirut to go to the beach, but to visit friends. There is a question below about Ramlet al Baida. If I would want to swim in the sea I would go to the Sporting Club. It is in walking distance from the Mayflower. It doesn't have a beach, but is situated on the rocks. I haven't been there for a while, so I would not be able to comment about its present state. It is not that far from Pigeon Rock. I loved to dive in the sea from the rocks and from the roof of the Sporting Club. A brilliant place to swim in the sea. But it was a long time ago in the 1980s. I cannot tell how the Sporting Club is anno 2023 and how clean the sea is at present.

I have nothing significant to complain about. Some of the interior of the hotel is a bit faded, but in my opinion it adds to the charm.

Pretty good location in the Hamra neighborhood where you find many restaurants and shops. I have a six nights stay at this hotel, friendly staff, and I was able to check in early as my room was ready. The wifi is somehow not the best, but sometimes good. Although electricity falls a few times during the day and night I even panicking as I was at the elevator when it happens, but it didn’t take long they seem to have a generator backup. As for room the room price it’s worth it, whereas hotel prices in Beirut are so expensive. The trick here is to book a room far in advance if you plan a trip Lebanon. I book my room six months before the trip. And it wasn’t really expensive, I pay for 6 nights 270 USD including tax. Nice spacious room as well the bathroom. I have a balcony facing to the street. At the rooftop is a tiny swimming pool looks like a joke. The only good thing is the view or if someone likes sunbathing.

The prices of drinks in the minibar are overly high-priced. I took a small bottle of water - this cost 2 USD. Avoid taking snacks and drinks from the minibar. Across from the hotel is a small shop, but this wasn’t open yet when I arrived. No coffee, tea and water provided in the room, so you’re bound to take it in their restaurant, but I always travel with a portable kettle. Food prices in their restaurant are costly. Go outside if you want a good meal that aren’t too expensive. Wifi is slow, sometimes not working at all. I’m staying at the second floor, though even sitting in the reception area, it doesn’t improve.

I enjoyed my stay in the Mayflower. Perfect location 1 min walking to hamra Street, 5 min to Rouche rock. Very welcoming staff reception, catering team and bellboy special thanks to Gad Allah. I enjoyed the breakfast dishes although it was set menu choices but all was delicious with 2 drinks. Three breakfast options: lebeanese, English and continental breakfast.Very spacious and clean room.

Mayflower Hotel is in Hamra, two blocks away from Hamra Street, in an area with many hotels, restaurants and shops. I was first given a lavish apartment but after the first night I got moved to another room because of renovation works in an adjacent room. The second room was one of the biggest I've ever stayed in, with all kinds of furniture but still with plenty of free space. PS There is a Syrian-run falafel shop 50m from the hotel on the opposite side. Better than any other falafel I've had a dirt cheap. In front of the hotel, obliquely at about 20m, there is an alcohol shop selling cold beer.

The reason why I didn't give a full 10 was the toilet flush which works but the centrifugal swirl should be deeper/at a more vertical angle. No more details about what happens if it doesn't:)

I have been in this hotel many times. The reason why I always stay there is for sentimental reason. It was one of the very few hotels open in West_Beirut during Israel's siege of 1982. In appreciation for that alone it is my hotel to stay in, when I am in Beirut. Another big plus of the Mayflower is that it is in the heart of Hamra district and a short walk from the campus of the American University of Beirut. A third good point is the Duke of Wellington pub, the best place to get draft beer or a refreshing gin tonic. A fourth good point is that room prices are very reasonable.

The Mayflower Hotel sometimes looks a bit run down with the carpets in the hall ways looking a bit tired, but in my view that is of minor importance, given that Lebanon is going through hard times economically. The only disappointing aspect is that the Mayflower no longer has the buffet breakfast in the basement floor. You have to order breakfast in the Duke of Wellington pub, which can take some time to arrive when it is busy.

I've stayed at this hotel four times and have always enjoyed my stays. This is a classic older hotel with charm and character. It's in a great neighborhood. The staff is friendly and helpful. The Lebanese breakfasts are delicious. The wifi works well. The quietest rooms are on the upper floors.

It costs $20 for a taxi into downtown Beirut and the traffic in the city is always bad. Not the hotel's problem, of course. (smile)

The best hotel in Beirut. All staff are very friendly and welcoming. I even had my small dog with me which they welcomed with open arms. I cannot thank them enough. The pub (Duke of Wellington) attached is amazing. Drinks galore, amazing food and great music. 24/7 electricity. Believe me, if you stay in Beirut stay here. The value for money is brilliant. 10 stars 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟🌟🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 I'll always stay here when in Beirut. The location is ideal too. Wow just stay here.

Nothing I cannot fault this hote What a credit to the ownes/staff.

Very well located to explore the city with all shops, eateries and entertainment places. Room is fair though its furniture is a bit “oldy” and used; but washroom is renovated . Room and hotel reflect the heritage style of a family owned property. Their staff are more then an asset and rather a must. I didn’t have to request something but they inspire a trusted atmosphere. Special thank to Khalaf. Great welcome from Basma. And what a delightful service and help receiving from Aly since he’s smiling, helping and assisting in every single request or need!

Staff are wonderful and supportive, specially Mr. Charbel; Location is wonderful as well, in the middle of Hamra Famous area; Price is very convenient and well studied; Room was Classical in its interior Design and very clean; Toilet was clean and nice; the Bed Mattress Pillows are very comfortable and clean; the Room was well cooled with Remote Control Split AC and perfect windows blackout to sleep without sun rays bothering me. Stunning Waiting Lobby Area and Breakfast Lounge Bar with Classical impressive design and historical books and antiques.

The Room Wooden Furniture, Carpet and Appliances are little bit old, and the Toilet WC is missing the Perineal Spray/Bidet.
