Rixwell Konventa Seta Design Hotel

Hotel is located right in the middle of the historical old town. There are several buildings connected by a public courtyard. While the building is really old, the room was recently renovated, contrasting modern design and furniture with old layout and structural elements. We got a room with a bathtub which was nice. Breakfast had a decent selection of food and beverages.

Since the hotel is located in multiple buildings, it might be inconvenient to some. Reception is in main building, hotel rooms are in several buildings across the publicly accessible courtyard, breakfast is served in a pub in a third building. This layout also influences the view out the window - many guests will see a wall two meters away out their windows, while most will see the opposite building and their inhabitants, so curtains are a must. Also be aware that there are several types of rooms of varying quality in this place. There are some cheap and old ones, while this is a review for a more expensive, recently renovated one.

Location is perfect, room and bathroom were quite big, we asked for a bathroom with bath tub and they accommodated our request. Staff is professional and price is absolutely on average.

Although the initial feeling was that the room was quite clean, then we noticed that they didn’t clean the floor in the bathroom (there were hair on the ground), but the worst was that the day after we were expecting that the cleaning ladies cleaned the room, instead they only changed the towels and nothing else: they even didn’t replace the mug that I used the night before. Also, we didn’t like breakfast that they offer in the bar nearby (two more beers): it was too much crowded and we were afraid for COVID situation.

Superior location in the middle of the old town on a relatively quiet courtyard. The hotel consists of several adjacent historical buildings that have been beatifully renovated into modern spacious rooms. Good breakfast. Easy parking 100m from hotel.

The airconditioning did not work, only circulated the air but did not cool it at all even after hours of trying at low temperature settings & instructions from reception. We tried two different rooms and same problem in both, had to open windows for the night letting sounds and light into the room. The staff did not comment anything when we repeatedly conveyed this information to them, seems they don’t really care which is a shame because otherwise the hotel and its rooms are fabulous.

In the very heart of the charms, bars and restaurants of the Old Town. The room I booked was a single, in anonymous hotel style, and although it was not large, the space was used very well. I was quite comfortable working at the desk provided next to a window.

That central location comes with the disadvantage of noise from the street, although that didn't really annoy this sound sleeper. The hotel has higher priced rooms and suites that are more sequestered from noise if that is an issue. At first the shower seemed to have insufficient water flow, but then I discovered that that valve has to be pushed past a click to get the stream to perfectly adequate maximum strength.

Tasty, fresh and really diverse breakfast. Perfectly located spot, in the heart of the Old Town. Even though the hotel’s location is in the city centre, the nights seem quiet and calm, noises don’t ruin the sleep. During the stay I felt safe, cozy and relaxed in the apartament. The staff was quite kind. What appeared to be a great convenience was air conditioning.

The moment we checked in, we found the room in a bit of a state as there were signs of using the toilet and single hairs found on the floor, in the wash basin, as well as on the pillows. The hotel personnel should have made sure earlier if the room had been adequately prepared for the guests.

We really loved our stayed at Rixwell Konventa Seta Design Hotel. The location is amazing, near to the most important tourist point, with a lot of restaurants, bars and cafes. The room is very nice, clean and new (just a point for the TV - small and isn't a smart TV). The breakfast is good, with a variety of food (fruits are not the best option for me). The coffee machines are a little bit slowly, and you need to wait. But the breakfast is worth.

It's not that I don't like, maybe some bad points. - The TV is small and isn't a Smart TV. - The Breakfast don't offer a good variety of fruts for me, but they have some option - orange, apple, pear, melon (but this always finish so fast :). - The coffee machines are slow and they have just 3.

Room type booked was for twin beds as we were associates travelling together. This was discussed and confirmed in depth via messaging on app yet when we arrived it was a double bed in the room. Hotel offered to try and move us the following day if a twin room became available. As we were travelling each day we did not want to wait around until after midday check out time to see if they could re accomodate us so decided to make do with the double bed. Other than that, room was perfectly fine and comfortable although a little too warm and aircon did not seem to get to the actual temperature that was imputed on the screen. Breakfast was lovely and had good options and location of hotel was ideal. Would definitely stay again

The Hotel was in the city center, close to all attractions. Although central, there wasn’t a lot of noise from the outside due to good windows. Very good breakfast with varied options; friendly staff; very spacious room, well lit; good window blinds; comfortable beds. We enjoyed the stay at Rixwell Koventa Seta

There was a bad smell in the bathroom, I assume from the sewage system. Bathtub was a bit too high to get inside and it could be slippery. We didn’t have any issues, but an elderly person or not quite fit might find it difficult to step into the bathtub.

The room is really beautiful and spacious. In the middle of the old city, in a very beautiful “yard”. Even though no elevator exist in one of the two buildings, there is staff to help you. I stayed two nights and for sure if I ever come back to Riga, I will book again here. During my trip from Estonia to Latvia i forgot one of my bags in the bus. The staff in the reception and specifically Dimitrijs helped me by contacting the bus company in Estonia and finally find my bag. I really appreciate his help, and the kind staff in one more reason that I recommend for sure this place.

Everything was perfect

Really spacious rooms with large bathroom and plenty storage also. The bed was big and firm, the pillows are always issue for me - far too big for my liking. The breakfast was really nice, the breakfast room where the food was, was a bit dark and the restaurant itself a bit rambling though. The staff was friendly, helpful and professional and spoke good English. The hotel is also located next to many restaurants, bars and there's a shopping centre next to it.

Some of the rooms faced the streets which was quite noisy on Fri-Sat nights, so if you wish to have a quieter room, ask from the reception.
