Rija VEF Hotel with FREE Parking

Good for one night stop on our way home. Located a but far from old town, there is free parking in front of Hotel with enough slots, they even have a garage but we did not use it and I think it is not free. Breakfast was ok, mostly salty selection, with few sweets. Rooms were quite good, clean and beds comfy. Our rooms both had bath tub. The view was on the street so nothing special. There is a mini market close by, 5 mins walk if you need. Also a shopping mall is quite close, maybe 15 mins walking, but we did not go there, did not have time.

Entrance to parking a bit difficult to find if you follow just the navigator, better slow down and look for a sign in front of Hotel (50m after hotel turn right). No restaurant in the Hotel and all nearby restaurants close by 21, so if you arrive late you can opt for a small nearby pizza kebab place or go towards old town (3-6 km drive) to find restaurants that close later. We found one italian restaurant/pizzeria at about 3 km from Hotel and stopped there.

Very good breakfast, free parking, good location, very friendly and supportive staff. The shopping mall Domina is quite near the hotel, so if you're traveling with kids or without a car, there you can find all you need in just about 500 meters walk.

A few drunk people were quite noisy for a couple of nights, but overally all calmed down after they leaved. Entering and leaving the hotel location on a car could be a little bit challenging if you're not up to Riga's traffic, but getting used to it takes a couple of days.

The standard rooms are a little tired now but the Deluxe/Comfort rooms are fine; Location is fine but one-way system makes access restrictive; Housekeeping not doing a good job (surfaces not properly cleaned, tea/coffee not replenished, used cups left uncleaned etc); Fridge goes off when key taken out! No complimentary water and only one tea bag

Nice stay, at least twice as cheap as analogous offers in Germany. Despite of the location right by the city's busyest road, it is exceptionally quiet in the rooms. Very friendly personnel with much attention to the guest's needs. A mall (Domina) with excellent restaurants is within 10 min walk is a nice addition.

I'd rather have a safe in the rooms, but I digress - the price/quality is already too good.

Great location. Free private parking is a great bonus. Also, the shops nearby are good too. The breakfast was excellent. Standard hotel breakfast, but for every taste. The room was clean enough. Room facilities were not in wide range - just shoe cleaning thing, built-in shower gel (with not very good smell), and bottle opener. But for one night with kid was great. Little fridge was in the room. P.S. I was surprised that the administrator didn't speak Latvian =) But his Russian and English was good =)

The reception was nice, the room was warm enough when I arrived, there were enough towels to wash both your face and body.

The room that I stayed in was smelling like smoke, I tried a few hours to air it out, but it didn't really work out. Either there was smoke coming in from some vent or the person that stayed prior to me had smoked in the room. I booked a non-smoking room and this did quite upset met. I did let the reception know about this to investigate it.

Location is convenient - easily reachable by tram/bus/trolleybus, as well as car. Breakfast is rich, many food options. Staff friendly, room is clean, beds comfortable (neither too soft nor too hard. Thanks.

Well... rather noisy. Looks like sound isolation is very poor. When somebody jumps in nearby numbers, even the beds shake in our number. Are the walls made of cardboard? This is the point where it needs to be improved a little.

Free parking was super - and the location is perfect when arriving Riga from north by car. Room was nice and clean and the hotel staff is friendly. The restaurant (6th floor) has a terrace and tasty burgers. Room price did include great breakfast too. Very good value for money.

Corridors might have more fresh air. It was not smelling bad but air could be more fresh and the air condition could be better.

Check-in was smooth enough this time. Both lifts worked well. The room was spacy enough, the comfort room had a bath. There was a kettle with a few tea and coffee bags and sugar, and the room was equipped with a small fridge. The bed was comfortable. Wi-Fi worked rather well, which is not often the case at this hotel due to weak signal amplification. The breakfast room is bright and spacious. The food offer was quite good, which was nice after the restrictions during the acute phase of the pandemic.

The lighting was a little off in the desk area. Unlike other stays at this hotel, this time the noise from the street and the nearby railway was audible in the room. It is possible that the room was with worse window insulation.

Although it is just outside the centre, you can get to the hotel by public transport (stop right next door) or in your own car, which has free parking. Registration was fast this time, the lifts were working. The room facing the street on one of the upper floors was large enough and the street noise could not be heard. The TV had enough channels. In-room fridge, kettle with coffee and tea sachets. There was nothing to complain about.

Help yourself breakfast could be reinstated, instead of restricted food at the point of service. While the efforts to respect epidemiological safety are understandable, other hotels have reverted to their old ways for some time already.
