Meitetsu Grand Hotel

Very conveniently located close to station and within walking distance of convenience stores and malls. Rooms were clean, beds comfortable and the buffet breakfast spread was decent. Staff were very helpful and when we got lost trying to find the entrance to the car park, the reception staff came out to our car and helped us navigate our way to the car park entrance (see comment on car park entrance)

If you are driving, and you use a navigation app like Google Maps or Waze, you might have difficulty locating the carpark entrance. The entrance is several clocks upstream from the hotel, so you need to turn into the car park entrance before you even reach the hotel. Based on my own analysis of google maps view, I think the entrance is a non-descript passage at the junction of Meiki-dori and Shimohiroi-cho.. (see the photos I uploaded) and it is several blocks upstream before you even reach the hotel. This entrance takes your vehicle up a long ramp that leads to the hotel's elevated parking. After parking, go through the glass entrance and make a left turn to see the lift lobby. I think the hotel / Booking.com should include these instructions in the hotel booking page.

The location was excellent, adjacent to Nagoya station with basement access from airport train. The hotel was on the 11th floor and in the same building, the Meitetsu bus center is on the 3rd floor and Muji Dept store can be accessed directly from the 6th floor, go through Muji and Loft is not the 5th floor. Meitetsu Men's building (as the name implies, the building is dedicated to men's clothing, shoes, accessories, luggage, etc) is also connected via the elevator. Basement 1 from the hotel elevator have access to the subway, JR lines, airport train, supermarkets, shops and restaurants. The best hotel to be staying in especially if you want to travel by bus through the Meitetsu bus center. Convenience is fantastic.

Its a little pricey but you get what you pay for. The staff cannot understand English well so communication is challenging. They make up for it with charm and they are accommodating.

The hotel was very near the Nagoya station (accessible JR, Meitetsu, Kintetsu, local subway - railways and buses). Walking from the airport train exit to the hotel lobby was just a few minutes away. B1 of the hotel leads to the underground walkways of the station which provided short cuts instead of walking above ground. There were lots of food shops where you can buy bento boxes and snacks in the underground.

The standard double room is just 17sqm which is a bit tight if you have big luggages but the room was comfortable and cleaned regularly. For first timers in Nagoya, the train station was a bit overwhelming especially during rush hour. It's quite busy all day everyday so you need to learn to weave through throngs of commuters and also learn the alleyways to avoid too many people and to discover short cuts.

Location is excellent, near train station, shops and restaurant. The room size is OK.

The air condition is central system. When we arrive in mid DEC, the air condition is turned into heater system. We found the room too hot and stuffy in the afternoon so needed to open the window. It was very noisy with the train coming when opening a window. The rooms are outdated and probalby had not been refurbished for more than 10 years.

Great location to all transport. And level 6 links directly to Muji cafe and shop, and also level 3 links directly to bus station. Staff was helpful n friendly. Check in and out were smooth.

Buffet breakfast was fantastic but second day of my stay, the breakfast was exactly the same spread as yesterday, however there was no unagi rice which I was so looking forward to eat.

The hotel is above the Meitetsu line, the train line which directly connects to Chubu Airport. So location is central and getting for Bus or train/subway is convenient. Although you have to walk a bit from 400m to 800m depending on the subway comany you take.

The rooms partitions are not excellent, not like usual japanese hotels. I could hear some noise from the adjacent rooms. So be careful, you may need to play a TV or music to keep your privacy.

It is next to Nagoya train and bus station, very close to all shopping’s amenities and F&B outlets, location is superb. There are venting machines located on a few floors, easy to get drinks and snacks and beers. There is also coin operated washing machine, which is very convenient. Staff are friendly and professional. The morning breakfast was served on the 18th floor, very nice layout, bright and with fantastic view. We are happy with the stay. Thank you 🙏

The toilet is raised a step (approximately 25cm) above ground, inconvenienced for older people.

Location, location, location. Hotel lift when down to B1 connected the Meitetsu and rest of the Kinsetsu/JR/Shinkansen line with some walking - all underground. As usual for a large railway underground mall - lots of food choices. Brilliant!

The security wasn't up to modern standards - no card access to residential floors, but, hey, it's Japan. Room had no view but given the price that wasn't a big negative.

Location is perfect, middle of center and very near public transportation, friendly staff, rooms were clean. Complete breakfast buffet. Very convenient to be able to park the car behind the hotel on the sixt floor, the streetlevel entrance to the carpark is quite far away though but is easy if you know. Very interesting Engineering and layout.

Overall experience is good, if to mention one thing that could be improved its the coffee machine in the breakfast room. Its too slow. No one likes to wait in a cue for coffee in the morning. Need a faster machine or a second one. Quality is good though.

Excellent location for transport,shopping and restaurants.Happy with upgrade to bigger room.

Check in time 2pm and rooms not assigned even though we came at 11am. Check in paperwork should be done first and rooms assigned so as to save time at 2pm when a queue of people to check in was there. The elevator from B1, supermarket and street level goes straight to rooms. It is convenient but low security. The lifts for guest rooms should only operate with room key cards. Public access should only be to lobby on level 11 for security.
