Henn na Hotel Kanazawa Korimbo

While the hotel is about 25 minutes walk from the JR station, it is right behind the Kanazawa Castle making it a prime location for sight-seeing. There are also lots of great places to eat at including Chocotea across the street for taiyaki and Poncco next door for tea during the day and drinks at night. We were able to see all the museums and explore Kanazawa by foot due to the great location. Room was average sized, dinos were a great touch, and it had what we needed.

I wish there were more tea options for tea in the morning and would have liked a second pillow for each person.

The receptionists (!) were fantastic! The location was very good - an easy 20-minute walk from the train station, and perfectly located for many of the main attractions. The furthest away for us (geisha district) was less than 30 minutes walking, but there are plenty of interesting streets and shops to see on the way. The hotel is very eco-friendly without being too in-your-face about it. The toiletries were lovely too!

It would have been nice to have a second pillow option, but only having 1 might be a common thing in Japan...

Super-efficient, spotlessly clean and very comfortable hotel, in a great location. Excellent value for money. I loved the robot dinosaurs at check-in. The bed was wonderfully comfortable and the buckwheat-filled pillow was possibly the best I've ever slept on (I'm now looking to buy something similar for home). Excellent and very generous breakfast buffet.

I can't think of anything to criticise, except perhaps the check-in time of 3pm. However, that seems to be how it is in Japan, so it wouldn't be fair to single out this hotel for a standard national practice.

The room here was a lot bigger than the ones we had in most business hotels, there were even some shelves and a wardrobe to put clothes in. And for a hotel that features two dinosaurs as receptionists, everything runs really smoothly. You can still easily contact customer support from the front desk, and there's a phone line that connects directly to a taxi company. The location is great, almost all major sites are within walking distance and it's easy to get around in Kanazawa.

It was really nice to be welcomed by those two dinosaurs ! Check in was easy and the room was very clean. We could ask for the breakfast but you have to book at the reception before 9pm otherwise it will be more expensive. There were a lot of choices on the breakfast buffet. I totally recommend the tea and the yogurt that were delicious ! I'm not used to a salty breakfast on the morning so I mostly took sweety food. I'm glad that the check out was at 11am so we could enjoy the beautiful gardens that are right next to the hotel ! We took the bus to arrive to the hotel and it was quite easy.

Great great location. Easy walk to the station. Restaurant was nice.

The check in was ridiculous. Automated with awful mechanical dinosaurs, really. And because people kept having trouble with the computers staffran out from behind a door and then went back behind the door. Get rid of the awful dinosaurs and hire efficient people to speed up registration.

Awesome being greeted by the prehistoric staff ! Japanesque rooms are really really nice. Great beds, amazing bathroom / shower / bath. Hotel is very modern. Great central location. Very accommodation and easy to leave luggage securely. Good heating and cooling in room. Wifi is excellent. Nice friendly staff in restaurant and breakfast is great with a big range of food and drink. Definitely recommend.

The location was perfect as I was visiting the 21st Century Art Museum. I liked the bathroom, with separate toilet, and the stool and basin so it could be used like a proper Japanese bath. It was good to see there are bicycles for hire. That's for next time! Taxi from the station was just 1,000 yen - not too far. Always glad to see large mugs, not tiny green-tea cups.

No coffee provided but I brought my own. The WIFI didn't work for me which was a bit troublesome - perhaps not enough protection. I was sad that there was no discount, having booked through Booking.com, as Japan had already rolled out travel discounts and shopping coupons. The dinosaurs may be amusing but not having staff on hand meant it took more time to check in and out.

I didnt tell my partner that Dinosaurs would be checking us in, he was very surprised and loved it. It was good fun and there are extremely helpful, English speaking staff available if needed. The location is great, close to Kenrokuen Garden and Kanazawa Castle Park and walking distance to many other sites. Breakfast was a good mix of Japanese and Western. The room was very clean and great value. Staff were very helpful with luggage transfer.

We couldn't fault the hotel.

Super friendly staff, they swapped our room to Japanese style as soon as they learned that my husband is over-weight and may be a challenge for the ordinary bed, and did not charge anything extra.

The breakfast buffet is already great, I'm really grateful that yoghurt, milk and fruit salad are provided. But if breakfast cereal is also given as well that would be a perfect Western style breakfast.
