The property was really good, the view from the room was really good too, you can see from the left Lake Kawaguchiko and on the right Mount Fuji. The onsen and provided breakfast were really good too. Nice and quiet place.
Didn’t like the property where they don’t check their emails regularly and communication has been poor. The guy’s name Kajiwara at front reception has particularly rude to non Japanese speaking guest, there was a confusion with the booking.com for the number of people booked for the night and he didn’t offer any help to resolve the issue until one of his colleagues took over and help me dial the phone number to booking.com in Japan. Booking.com understood the problem and rectified it with the hotel and we managed to check in after 2 hours at the reception.

Room was very spacious. Facilities were excellent. The futon beds were very comfortable. Great location on the lake with an excellent view of Mt Fuji, weather permitting!
Lack of onsite dining and distance from the centre of town with other dining options. The challenge of getting into and out of low set futon beds for older, unfit and unflexible westerners!

I really am happy with how traditional this Ryokan was! I knew what I was booking before I arrived. I was surprised with how old the place looks but that added to the immersion of a traditional Japanese ryokan. I felt like I went in time to the good old days. I had such good memories here even though we only stayed a night. You get traditional clothes and the robe to put over the yakuta. In the morning it’s a traditional breakfast with lots of small seasonal dishes. I really wish I stayed longer here. I constantly look back at this hotel and the night we stayed. It’s so dreamy and it was my favorite hotel by far! It’s old and dated but the experience is worth it.
I didn’t like that the onsen wasn’t available to use in the morning. Some Indian staff said we couldn’t use it when clearly on paper it said it was open at the time we went.

The room we booked was big with sufficient space for 6 people - we did not expect having so much space. Our room had a kettle and a fridge for our conbini stuff. The view of the lake was amazing. My friends loved the onsen baths so much they went on a daily basis during our stay. The free parking was a bonus. Plus we were there for the fujisan marathon, so the hotel was a quick 10 mins walk to the race venue. I would stay here again if I had a big group.
Hotel has its wear and tears but not a major issue for me as everything worked perfectly fine for me.

Spacious room, necessities is all available. Good breakfast, good pick up and transfer service to Kawaguchi station. Onsen is okay. Good view from room. Overall is value for money! Will propose to friends : )
After travelling the sightseeing spots in the city, to catch the latest dinner time that start at 7:00 p.m. is quite difficult. And, as per the info checked by Booking.com, there is only one choice of set course for dinner is too insufficient.

We were so lucky to get this place and room, at building's corner overlooking both the big lake and mount fuji from the same window. The service was superb and the meals were out of our expectation. Highly recommend to include the two meals in your booking. The onsen is inhouse, just that we were not feeling too well for that during our stay. One more recent to come back next time :)
It seems the staff could communicate better in Japanese. Be prepared to have a good translating machine or in our case, my friend speaks the language so all good.

very convenient. kawaguchiko lake is just right across the hotel. it’s like walking few steps away. our room view overlooking the magnificent Mount Fuji which was so great. we get to see the day & night view of the mountain. walking distance to restaurants, we didn’t need to worry about dinner. but just need to be cautious with the time, most restaurant closes as early as 8pm. and the best about the hotel is that it has indoor & outdoor onzen. it’s so great. and free hotel shuttle to Kawaguchiko station. room is clean & the clean bed sheets with no odour smell.

We've booked a Japanese-style room, for 1 night, with half board through booking.com - Staff was very kind, since we arrived they accommodated all our needs and requests. - the room was fantastic! There's an entrance hall where you have rooms for toilet, shower/bath and sink. From there you access to the main tatami room which was amazing and well kept. Moreover, from the window we could admire the Mount Fuji. - Dinner was impressive. It was a real journey through Japanese food, ranging from sushi to soups and sweets. - Breakfast was a typical delicious Japanese breakfast, another great fantastic experience. - There's the option to access to the hotel's onsen, from 3pm to 1am. - Everything was cleaned and perfectly kept.
- The property doesn't use actively the booking messaging system, this may be a problem sometimes - but you can contact them via email - The checkin time is very late (4pm) it would be nice to have it earlier.

The location is fantastic: right by the lake. Although it’s a bit of a hike from the station, there is a free shuttle (the tourist info people at the station will make a call for you between 3 and 5). To get back you need to book it with the front desk before 10am. As other reviewers have said, the hotel is old and rather shabby, but the staff are doing their best. The open-air bath is a great feature.
The bathroom attached to my room was very smelly and the curtains were torn and faded, but it was comfortable and even had a little bit of a view of Fuji through one of the windows.
