Grand Hotel Bristol

The lake view room with balcony was brilliant. The breakfast was the same for tour groups and individual guests but OK. The a la carte evening meal was therefore a very pleasant surprise, I wish we had eaten in earlier in our stay. You need to know that 5% service charge will be added to the whole bill for your stay,; awkward if you have tipped staff directly. It is easy to miss as it isn't shown at the end as is usual and your attention will not be drawn to it, although if you do notice it you will be given the option of a revised bill.

Spacious rooms friendly polite staff and wonderful buffet breakfast except on two mornings where the hot food was finished at 9.45 otherwise it was awesome

I think comfy pillow and fresh linens could be upgraded along with supplying fluffy new towels and quality robes and slippers… room service til 12pm would be great especially on weekends and welcome drinks on arrival. Umbrellas should be supplied for a rainy day, and I feel the hotel could offer lovely scented shower gel and lotion dispensers and quality shampoo conditioner… cotton buds and face cleansing pads would be great.

The breakfast buffet was amazing. Make sure you get there at least 30 minutes before 10am because they shut down immediately at 10am.

The hotel was old and needs a freshner- it had a stale smell.

Very good value hotel. Very well managed and organized. Facilities are great with an indoor lap pool and an outdoor pool. The team was kind and helpful

Dinner was shockingly bad. I mean really bad. Breakfast was fine. Eat dinner elsewhere.

Could have had water replenished on subsequent days stays, and a shame that breakfast wasn’t included & was quite pricy to add on.

Loved how majestic it was and how close to the lake. I didn't have a lake view but the view out the rear was stunning also! Food was good and the room although outdated was ok.

Didnt like that you cannot request an iron or have an iron in the room, instead was an ironing service. But if you arrive late the evening before a wedding then there is no chance to iron your shirt. Also in my room the phone did not work and the Internet is restricted to 1gb which by todays standards isnt much really.

My mother and I LOVED staying at the Grand Hotel Bristol. Here are some things we have praised over the course of four days and nights: - LOCATION is by the lake and has a view of the magnificent Isola Bella - LOCATION is about 15 minutes or less to everywhere you want to go: the train station, the boats for the islands, the town center, and the grocery Conad - Hot water comes out of the tap almost instantaneously. The bathroom has a good exhaust and there's a pretty mosaic on the bathtub wall - Room is cleaned every day - Air conditioning is quiet and works so well. How we loved the air conditioning after the hot days - Room in the inner courtyard was quiet. - The fitness area was small but clean. The bike didn't seem to be working, but I used the elliptical every day. - There were two beautiful pools. One was indoors and well-lit, one was outdoors in a beautiful garden with an outdoor bar. - The garden had lots of big shade trees and beautiful places to sit - The breakfast was copious: the usual continental breakfast of fruits and cereals, a whole table of cakes and breads, and - my personal favorite - hot food + salads. Yes, salad ingredients (lettuce, tomato, corn kernels, cucumber) at breakfast! So healthy. The breakfast area was in what looked like a grand ballroom with a view of the lake. - It was close to a great restaurant where we dined every evening: Marconi Beach. My mother's favorite drink was Berry Colada and her favorite food was the Margherita pizza. We had such a lovely stay at this hotel. We went home relaxed and full of energy.

Nothing! Grand Hotel Bristol is great.

The location was superb and the view of the lake and islands from our balcony was wonderful. All the staff were excellent and very keen to help in anyway.

It just lacked some basics. No tea or coffee facilities in the room. Paper cups to drink from in room. The gym had half a dozen pieces of equipment and three of them were broken. The inside pool was good but a little dirty . The cost of breakfast was £25 each so for a family of four not worth it . The food at restaurant was ok nothing special. We decided to eat out most nights.

During our stay, the hotel had 2 different tours staying and the dining room was partioned in to 3, one for each group and 1 for individual travellers. This meant that there was zero atmosphere in the dining area with maybe 6 other guests in a large room. Breakfast was the same but the tour parties seem to get there first. The whole hotel seemed to revolve around tour parties and that spoilt the expperience for us.
