Our week-long vacation at Aretusa Vacanze in Siracusa, Sicily, was an absolute delight. The spotless and cozy atmosphere combined with its unbeatable location in the heart of charming Ortigia Island, just a brief 5-minute stroll from Duomo Square, made it the perfect home away from home. The breakfast spread was a delectable treat, highlighted by an exquisite array of homemade jams that left us in awe. But what truly set this place apart was the exceptional service. The team was very helpful offering invaluable recommendations for great local restaurants and even securing reservations for us. Stefano's warm and friendly nature made us feel like we were visiting old friends, and our son's fondness for their passionate football chats showcased the genuine connections formed during our stay. A heartfelt thank you to the Aretusa Vacanze team for making our vacation truly special. We'll fondly remember our time here and the incredible hospitality we received.

Apart from the fact that the Mangano family members are perfect hosts, the place is simply wonderfully located (2 minutes walking from my conference venue! 5 minutes away from the Piazza Duomo! 5 minutes away from a very nice beach!) in a charming and peaceful little alley. Breakfast is served in a very practical and environmentally friendly manner in the dining area on the roof terrace which has a charming view. Our luggage did not arrive with us, but the receptionist very sympathetically tried his utmost best to assist by phoning the Catania airport. The Manganos are a very caring family. They work extremely hard to offer quality and friendly service. Thanks to Cinzia, Maurizio, Stefano, and Flavia!

Aretusa Vacanze, at the very center of Ortigia, is one of our very favorite places to stay on the eastern coast of Sicily. Spacious and comfortable room with a small kitchen, wonderful breakfast on the roof terrace and the very personal and helpful (not to mention entertaining) conversation with Stephano and his family made us feel right at home. There is so much to see and do right in the area and we were helped to insure we got to see the best of it. Finding a free parking spot is a bit of a challenge, but hey, so is driving in Sicily anyway.

We loved staying here in the heart of beautiful Ortigia. Stefano and his wife Rosanna were delightful as was Stefano's father who helped out at breakfast on the roof terrace every morning. Breakfast was great too - mainly because of the amazing array of homemade jams courtesy of Stefano's father! Our room was clean and comfortable with a little kitchenette area and a fridge. The bathroom was fine and the shower good. Everywhere was spotless. We loved the situation -stepping out into the tiny streets of Ortigia and there were many good restaurants nearby. Stefano was always happy to help with any advice or reservations . I have no hesitation in recommending this place to stay.

Stefano and his lovely family were warm,genuine and caring people who made sure I was comfortable and saw everything I could in the brief time I was in Siracuse..I loved the location..close to all the cafes,bars,restaurants ,beaches and the magnificent castle..I had a gorgeous and comfortable room with frescoes on the ceiling. Breakfast was on a roof top terrace with a view of the ocean,and Stefano ensured my morning coffee was malto caldo,the way I like it. This lovely kind family will ensure you have a great stay in this beautiful location on Ortygia..I just wish I could have stayed longer.

The day we arrived in Syracuse it was a holiday! It was a bit of a challenge driving into town as it was very busy with everyone in the street celebrating their Labor Day holiday. We were informed ahead of time by the B&B that the parking lot for our car would not open until 4pm, so that is when we arrived. The hotel staff was so nice to meet us in town by the fountain to help us unload our luggage. Being a holiday we were able to enjoy the band they had playing in town and do some dancing! The Breakfast was nice, you had to choose the day before what items you wanted and the time and We sat on the patio for breakfast. The owners and staff were all very nice and helpful. The room was nice and decent size. The B&B was very close to the town. We walked everywhere and left our car in the parking lot until we left!

We loved eating our breakfasts on the rooftop - everything we ordered was served including extra coffees and delicious homemade jams. The room was very clean and sunny. The staff was wonderful. Stefano and Antonio were pure delights. Both were very helpful and interesting to talk to. Stefano recommended 3 excellent restaurants for us to have dinner - and guided us to stores to buy gifts for our family. He even helped us when we wound up in the wrong arrival area which could have been a disaster. But thanks to him - it wasn't.

The staff were super helpful and friendly. They even have a reception desk where they greet you and explain everything you need to know. Breakfast was wonderful on the terrace w a view! Homemade jams!! We could also access the terrace even after breakfast, just to read or enjoy the view. ( til 6 pm). Location down a quiet alley was a minute from the Artusan spring, and 3 minutes from piazza Duomo. Private Parking recommendation was perfect and close by. Definitely worth the extra cost.

The soap dishes in the shower and sink kept falling off. Could be replaced. That’s it! All other amenities were totally fine.

Amazing stay at the Aretusa Vacanze! Stefano and his staff were so welcoming. We loved our little apartment with comfortable beds, and a small kitchenette. Breakfast on the roof every morning was a highlight. The inn is well located on the gorgeous island of Ortigia. We will definitely return!

Nothing! We loved everything about it! One word of advice for those who have a car: make sure to what’s app the proprietors prior to your stay to set up parking accommodations and to get driving instructions as the little island is not easy to navigate with a car.

Breakfast was upstairs and served on an open air covered patio and was delightful. Also the room was fantastic in that we got a suite! We had a kitchen and separate bedroom, bathroom, also an outdoor area to hang wet clothes. The location was right in the heart of Ortigia so we were in the thick of things. However, we slept quietly and soundly. Stefano was quite attentive and has an excellent command of English as well as other languages. He represents the place well and you can tell that he loves his job, his family and he loves people. We were well attended.

Of course because we were in the middle of the old city of Ortigia we had to park in a specific garage that was a short way from the B&B. We had been driving all day and we had luggage (dare I say baggage) and we had to walk with it and make two trips. But as I said before, that is part of the price one must pay when one wants to stay in the middle of an ancient town or village with as much history as Ortigia has.
