Hotel Umbria

Nice place at the top of Perugia. It's a two stars (**) hotel, so please don't assume this will be a palace. Staff is super friendly and always at the desk (also during the night), so there is always a personal welcome when you enter. I loved the bed, the mattress was comfy and not too soft for my taste. The bathroom was small and a bit worn down (e.g. shower cabin leakages fixed with silicone), but fully functional. There is a daily room service, cleaning everything and fixing your bed. And changing towels (@hotel owner: you could easily put up signs to tell guests to drop used towels on the floor to indicate they want them changed - by default, towels then would remain in use). Have not tried breakfast.

In our room, the bathroom was behind the bed. But the adjacent room's bathroom was also on this side of the wall and one could hear people speaking/flushing their toilet. Woke me up at 3am.

Location very central, in less than a minute you can be near the cathedral. Room decent size and clean, bed is comfortable, TV works well, Shower with constant hot water and good water pressure. Staff very helpful, the even helped with the luggage up to our room as there is no lift in this two floor hotel. Hotel is an old house and the charm of the building has been retained.

The fact that I could not stop in front of the hotel with my car to drop off my luggage on arrival/departure. No lift but got help with luggage from staff - Big Thank you to them. Steep steps to go up to city center, and as car cannot stop in front of hotel one still need to walk up these steps or uphill to get around. However, as soon as you are up the steps into the main street, everything is very accessible and easy to reach.

We had a friendly welcoming by the host. The receptionist had a great sense of humour and spoke english fluently. The room was tidy and was fair value for the price. We parked our car on the streets close to the hotel and got a special paper (under the windshield) by the host, witch was an affordable way for parking (paid the parking fee to the host). The location is close to the city center, in walking distance to the main attractions.

We had a great stay at Hotel Umbria. The hotel was perfect - comfortable room, quiet and brilliantly located close to sites of interest and places to eat. Owner/managers could not have been more friendly and helpful. Perugia a good base from which to explore nearby towns, with easy metro link from the old town to railway station.

Its a 2 Star hotel and you get what you pay for ; clean & in the city. Nothing fancy but totally Ok and nothing to complain about. 100 meter away from the plaza , quite , no noise ...anything better would cost a lot more money. Anybody wanting to get to Perugia and stay central its perfect for it. Leave your car at the minimetro station downtown take the minimetro to the top station , take the elevator and cross the plaza and you there.....maybe 300 meters... Very friendly recption

The hotel was small, traditional, comfortable, and unassuming. The location – on a quiet, steeply sloping street near the main square – was ideal. The staff were friendly and very helpful.

No complaints – the hotel (indeed Perugia!) is not suitable for the mobility-impaired, as the climbs are extremely steep.

There were twelve of us and check-in was so fast and easy. The rooms including bathroom were spotless. Lovely breakfast for 4 euros. Warm cornetto and fresh coffee and two choices of juices. Easy to find off the Corso. Great value. Two of us were tired and asked if he could make us a cup of tea before bed and he did - complete with aliteracy sweet

Location is very central in old city centre near restaurants etc. Hotel service was good and they were very helpfull. Few minutes away there is an escalator that takes you to a Mini Metro station/service which takes you to the train station. From the train station (Perugia station) you can travel around to different locations nearby.

Great location in the históricas center of Perugia. Be aware of the steps and narrow streets. Taxis can get you 20 m far from the hotel. Staff is super kind and helpful. The place is clean. Pet friendly (check with the reception before bringing your pet). Great value for your money.

The location is great, right in the center of the city. The room was ok, with the basic supplies and clean. We had also a mini-breakfast (coffee, croissant, juice and a fruit) for only 3.5 euro, served by the reception staff, who was quite helpful.

Some older features still reside (it is rated as a 2-star hotel), such as the carpets on the hallways, the wardrobe and nightstands in the room, but it was not so unpleasant for us. The only thing that could have been more helpful in the room were some hangers / racks.
