We had a delightful stay at the Bella Palermo in early June. Giacomo was a charming and helpful host and was available to answer any questions we had about the property and Palermo. The accommodation was absolutely spotless, quite spacious for a city centre, with a lovely bathroom (good shower!) and a small patio with garden furniture. The painted ceiling in the bedroom is original 19th century and very pretty. There is also a shared kitchen/dining area where guests can make tea, coffee, breakfast, etc. Excellent location about 10 mins walk from Palermo Centrale train station, 20 mins from the Botanical Gardens, 10-15 mins from central Palermo. We felt perfectly safe walking around the area at night and found two great local restaurants/takeaways close by, serving very economical delicious, authentic food. We highly recommend the Bella Palermo and would have no hesitation in staying there when we next visit Palermo.

The mattress was a little too firm for us.

The host Giacomo went above and beyond to have our room ready for our early arrival. Giacomo's hospitality and advice is typical of this welcoming, friendly, fabulous city. The room itself was beautifully decorated, and had en suite bathroom and a small mini fridge. We stayed during January and had a lovely quiet, relaxing time. The whole apartment would be perfect for a family needing 3 rooms. The location of the apartment is really very good. Five minutes walk from the main train/bus station, and there are coffee/food places within 5 minutes walk too. The Ballaro market is nearby and you are 10-20 minutes walk to other sites nearby. We'd definitely consider staying here again. We had a wonderful holiday.

Because of the shared breakfast facilities I imagine in high season it could be noisy if other guests are noisy but that would be the case any where with inconsiderate co-guests. There's not a huge amount of space for luggage in the room but we managed ok.

We stayed in room Ballaro. The host, Mr. Giacomo, was very responsive and hospitable although we didn’t have a chance to meet in person. The check-in and check-out were smooth with clear instructions. The room is spacious and clean. We love the common dining area with coffee machine, electric kettle, microwave, plates/cups/silverware and complimentary tea/coffee. Mr. Giacomo offered a large bottle of water in the small refrigerator in the room and also brought us Sicilian cannoli as a gift: such a lovely touch! Bella Palermo is less than 10 minutes walk from Palermo Central Train Station, which makes day trips easy. The center of Palermo old town is ~20 minutes by foot. One thing to note: different from other rooms, this room faces the street and therefore does not have the access to the garden.

It was not very practical to open the windows and the shades to get much fresh air and natural light for security/privacy reason because the room is facing the street at the ground level.

Good location very close to Palermo Central train station, very clean, comfortable bed, everything is in a very good condition. Giacomo and his wife are perfect hosts, very nice and helpful. The shared space is well stocked with tea, coffee and snacks. The access is easy and clear instructions are provided.

If you’re a light sleeper you could use some earplugs cause the street noises are loud in the room facing the street. Probably the rooms towards the garden are quiet. You can hear the elevator from time to time as well as the apartment is on the ground floor.

The hosts were very helpful, he met us upon arrival with a welcome gift. Comfortable room with an outside seating area. Great pace to make coffee in the morning, refrigerator in our room and some kitchen supplies in common area. You cannot cook here but there is the ability to bring in takeaway. Nice outside area to enjoy.

Just to be aware....this is a late check in. It worked for us because of our late arrival but may not work for all. Location is a bit on the fringe of the city...might be intimidating for some.

I went to Palermo a couple of days for a conference. I needed a place near the train station for practical reasons. The room is very nice and very cheap. Giacomo is extremely nice and welcoming, the fun part is that I didn't even meet him, we communicated via phone :) Follow his food tour recommendations- all very good, especially the restaurant, open even after 22:00, very handy for a late arrival like mine. The room is clean and very well located. It's 2 minutes away from the Ballaró market, so be careful, you may end up eating delicious sicilian food all day.

Giacomo was very hospitable and generous during our stay at Bella Palermo, even though we unfortunately did not meet. He messaged us with clear instructions on how to access the accommodation and offered plenty of recommendations for what to do during our few nights there. A couple of treats left for us were unexpected and a lovely touch :) The route we took to arrive at Bella Palermo was not the most enjoyable, but the location could not be better, down a pleasant, leafy residential street. If you’re after a quiet peaceful setting, this is it! We were a short walk (~10-15 minutes) to main attractions as well. The interior was beautiful, especially with the painted ceiling. the bathroom was immaculate, and quiet, clean outdoor area a bonus in Palermo. We also felt safe during our stay as the structure is very secure.

location was perfect, super short walk to the historical center. We found parking easily on the street right outside the front door, shady tree lined street, safe and not too much traffic. Our room was beautiful; the ceilings in our room and the common area/dining room were trompe-l'oiel! Our room even had glass doors leading out to our own private terrace garden. Everything in the B&B was thoughtfully planned out; the lights automatically turned on when you entered the apartment or exited your bedroom and mosquito netting on the metal double gate so we could open our glass doors to the terrace and still be protected from mosquitoes. Our room had a mini-fridge which was already stocked with complimentary water, beer and apertivo, (such hospitality we have only encountered one other time in Noto). The kitchen had a coffee machine which made the best espressos of all the B&Bs we've stayed in, just like a caffe in a bar. Our hosts, Giacomo and Daniele were super helpful guiding us as to where to go, what to eat. It was a pleasure to meet both of them. Giacomo even gave us parting gifts (cannoli and Sicilian red wine). This is the place to stay if you are visiting Palermo. After 14 days traveling in Sicily, "Bella Palermo" was such an oasis for us and a great place to end our travels in Sicily.

The owner is very friendly and nice. He does not speak much English, but he uses google translate, he even messaged us in Romanian :) The room was big and sparkling clean, we had free water, coffee, tea and bonbons all the time, some welcome beers and croissants. It was lovely, especially because we arrived at 1.30 am. We received all the information for access by whatsapp, even a video on how to use the coffee machine. It is 5 min away from the train station and the airport bus, from the Ballaro Market, and 15 min walk to the city center. Everything was great!

Great property, has basics such as coffee and some snacks which are available for use, clean and comfortable room with great ensuite and access to a private courtyard. Owners were really friendly and helpful.

The street the accomodation was on was very pleasant and quiet however at nighttime as a solo female traveller, I was a little tense for the last 5 minutes or so of the walk from the main strip. I don’t think this would be an issue for those not on their own.
