WE LOVED LOVED LOVED EVERYTHING! The hosts were super nice and lovely. We had a bit of a delay due to restrictions in the corso umberto but the lovely man of the house was so helpful to guide us what to do and how to park and everything. The lady came straight after with a loving hug and all our requests were answered straightaway and with a smile! Can’t express how great they were! In addition, LOVED THE FACT THAT THEY HAD PLENTY OF SOAP AND SHAMPOO LOTIONS (large sizes), not like those little packs you’d expect. It felt like I never left home. Thank you so much for making our stay in Modica so pleasant!❤️

Central location in the historic city center. Everything is really Baroque, from the furniture to the chandeliers. This with an updated and well working bathroom. The host was very helpful and friendly. From the balcony, which is equipped with a comfortable chair and table, you can watch the bustle in town and take in the views of the most beautiful part of Modica. I did not use the parking that comes with the place as the entrance is a bit narrow for a bigger car, but it was easy and cheap to find parking on the street nearby.

I’d have liked a bit more infrastructure. There was a mini fridge but it didn’t work, and just two little cups with the espresso maker. Not even a glass or a mug to make tea.

The whole place is wonderfully decorated in baroc style and the couple hosting the place is overwhelmingly hospital. Also breakfast was plentiful, delicious, diverse and assembled in a nice baroc style. A garage is available for car free of charge but owner will drive it there with you and basically you can't get the car out of there without help of the owner.

It's good to know that the couple doesn't speak english very well. Also a little minus from that although the room was commonly clean, it had been while since the fridge and underneath the furnitures had been cleaned. With old wooden furnitures there also is the common issue that wood eating beetles have carved little holes to those over time.

The outside wasn't much to look at, but once you get inside, it's like stepping back in time to the baroque era! Location is perfect. Very central on the main street. We were able to park our small rental car in the garage. Breakfast was very nice with pastries, fresh fruits, etc. and good cappuccinos made by the owner.

The bed mattress was a little too short for the frame and kept sliding away from the headboard, but we solved the problem by putting an extra pillow between the mattress and the footboard.

One of the best value for money we have been to. The accommodation is beautifully arranged, in baroque style and very clean and fragrant, it looks like museum. The hosts are very kind. We used a wash machine and in the morning we get some extra, we were greeted by ironed clothes :). The host gave us his garage to use. Grazie mille!

The location was very good. Hotel situated in the city center. Also the breakfast was delicious (mostly local food and fruit) and the staff was very friendly and trying to help. The owner of the place is super nice gentleman, who gave us the lift to the bus station when we were running out of time. The rooms were big and good equipped. The room with the balcony had very nice view on the old city. And the daughter of the owner was extremely nice and trying to help and organise everything around for us. Also one of the few people around speaking very good English. She recommended us places where to eat, adviced us with the public transportation and once even gave us a lift to the beach with her car. Grazie mile!! What a great stay in Modica. 10 stars.

Imagine yourself in the 30s and 40s of the last century. Atmosphere, silence, safety, jazz, good food. This is Modica. And then, imagine a cool house, with stylish furniture, impeccable cleanliness, cutlery that are definitely not from Ikea, this is Stanze Barocche. And then, imagine that you have some friends there, who welcome you with open arms, water and cookies, with breakfast prepared at home, who offer to help you with any problem, who advise you what places to visit ( and really accompanying you there), this is Mimo's wonderful family!

The host was very interesting with a wealth of information about history, art and antiques. The rooms were decorated with all the pieces he had collected and it was like sleeping in a palace. The breakfast was delicious with a variety of wonderful Italian specialties to choose from.

We liked everything.

Incredible golden gilt covered baroque furniture. Excellent breakfast. Location perfect to visit Modica on foot.

Challenge of using host's secure parking down very narrow street.

It is actually a room in a private apartment. We used the owners garage to park the car. A good opportunity to get close to the Sicilians
