Villa Margherita

Friendly and helpful staff/owners. Good breakfast. Outside space, quiet location with lovely views. Comfortable room and spacious enough ensuite.

Before listing any negative points, I should point out that, as a 78-year-old traveller using public transport, the location was not ideal. My rating/comment is based for a car-user. For me, the walk either to the ferry point or the train station for the Cinque Terre villages was longer than expected and the first 200 metres was on a road without a pavement and with a few bends. So not for those of a nervous disposition. Otherwise it was a comfortable enough stay

Villa Margherita is a small, family-run and cosy hotel with a very central location, about a 10 minutes walk from the station of Levanto from where there are excellent connections to the Cinque Terre-villages, La Spezia and towards Genova. The breakfast is rich and fine according to italian standards, but still a little on the sweet side as a typical italian breakfast. Our room was spacious and had a small balcony with a very nice view of the town of Levanto, the mountains and the sea. We were more than satisfied with our stay in Villa Margherita and will definitely consider staying there again on our next journey to the Cinque Terre.

I would find it nice if the different kinds of croissants for the breakfast were less sweet, but then again; it is a matter of taste and a very small thing indeed. 😊

I loved the villa itself, the location up the hill but only a short walk to the beach and Levanto town center. It was peaceful and quiet for sleeping. My room and bathroom were small but spotless and cozy, with everything I needed (effective a/c, fridge) and a beautiful view of the mountains. I savored my breakfast on the terrace looking at the sea, and wish I could experience that every day. The staff and owners were lovely, helpful, informed and friendly. I thank them for their local touristing advice, which was spot-on. The cat didn't really like me, but that is most cats for me. I would highly recommend Villa Margherita and hope I can visit again some day.

The property was ideally located for a Cinque Terre visit. Minutes walk to the train station, as well as being minutes walk to restaurants and the beach. You could just park your car at the property, and then walk and take the train elsewhere. The rooms were well appointed, spacious and exceptionally clean, decorated in Italian style. We had a garden facing room, which was lovely. The staff were super helpful, friendly and kind, with lots of advice on everything to make our stay special. The breakfast is served in a lovely large dining area, with attentive service. There is a variety of cereal, whole fruit, yoghurts, eggs/ bacon, and pastries available. More than enough to set you up for the day. The parking was easy, and convenient.

The road it's situated on is quite busy, and so one has to be careful crossing it on a blind corner, on foot.

Wonderful place for our first time in Levanto. We had a room right on the upper garden - very clean and comfortable. Attentive staff; very good breakfast (some scrambled eggs, bacon, yogurt, delicious selection of croissants and pastries, coffee / cappuccino). Town center and beachfront is about a 10 min walk away. Parking is just a few meters up the hill.

Check in lady was super nice, told us a lot about the town. We arrived early and we were able to have our room 15 minutes after we arrived which was amazing. The town is pretty flat also so getting here was not a mansion. Close to the train station and the beach. The breakfast was actually amazing. We can’t eat gluten and there was so many options for us. The lady made us a deliscious cappuccino also

The bed covers very uncomfortable but the sheets were ok. Pillows were good

Hotel is located very near the center of town and a close walk to the train station. Ferry to Cinque Terra towns leaves at 1000. That’s it. Train runs frequently and is inexpensive. If you have a vehicle and are parking at the hotel drive past the lower entrance past the gas station and up the hill to the upper entrance where you can safely pull off the road and contact the hotel. Bit of a language barrier in English and Italian with the very sweet lady who does everything. I think she is from SE Asia. Great breakfast. Clean and spacious.

Room had everything to make coffee and tea but no coffee or tea. Tried to get a cup before breakfast but was turned away. Easy fix. Enjoyed our stay.

- The location was great, near train station, a good point to start the adventure to Cinque Terre - The receptionist waited for us, and he started explaing us next steps to our trip (what we need to do for cinque terre trip, local things to visit, etc) - Room was great, he upgraded it - Breakfast was great, a lot of things to eat - Lady Nina is simply great!!! She talked with us, was very kind and the coffee she prepared was delicious

Helpful and friendly english-speaking staff. We were two couples in rooms 3 and 4, enjoying the spacious rooms and wonderful garden outside the rooms. Very nice and quiet situation with short distance to station and the restaurants and bars of Levanto.

All the staff were courteous and friendly. The property is a beautiful garden, three levels with a spectacular view. Elevator for this who need one. The rooms beautifully decorated, lovely comfortable beds and large bathroom in our suite. The breakfast was the best I’ve had in Italy.
