Palazzo Barba is a fabulous place to stay. It has only 3 guest rooms therefore fairly quiet. The location is stunning, facing the castle and the small harbour. I could open my windows in the morning and watch the fishermen working on their nets. Beautiful. My room, Scirocco, was huge, clean and bright. Some stunning vintage furniture too. It is not for you if you want super modern but definitely a place with character and history. I felt at home. Fantastic breakfast too. Fresh fruit, pastries, local tomatoes , ham, cheese and more. I had to actually ask to have a bit less in the morning. Very generous. The owners are lovely and very helpful, recommending restaurants, places to see and even organising taxis to the airport for us, cheaper that we had found ourselves and all in an effort just to help. They actually live on site and that made me feel very safe. Great value, I would stay again.

It really is an old Palazzo with all the old charm that brings. The owners are lovely and the breakfast is fantastic. We had the room with the balcony and it is truly special. As it is in the old town with very strict traffic rules, parking is at the port but really is less than 5 minutes walk - and when we were there parking was free!

As is to be expected in a very old building, the shower was very good but in THIS room, quite small (other rooms have larger showers). It did not bother us but really corpulant individuals would have found it challenging in this room.

Right for the outset the host was very prompt in responding to any queries we had and was accomodating, especially with providing gluten free alternatives (a great and varied breakfast). We highly recommend this B & B as it’s in a great , central location in the old town, and more so, as the hosts are happy to assist in any way they can.

No parking at the B & B , which is probably the case for most accomodation in the ZTL zone - but we knew that when we made the booking.

I had a sea view room in this gorgeous old Palazzo. It was so wonderful to sit in my huge room & watch the view, the boats & the fishermen go about their day. The Palazzo is well located & a short walk from the station. The hosts are charming & although they don’t speak much English (or I don’t speak any Italian) they greeted me warmly & were just lovely. They serve a very generous breakfast each morning. You won’t regret staying here.

Nothing to dislike.

Very clean comfortable & quiet! Mario was an awesome host! His family home was filled with so much love and history! The breakfast was a typical but amazing Italian breakfast (fresh pastries, fresh fruit, meat & cheese, bruschetta, yogurt! Italian coffee. Palazzo Barba overlooks the sea! Close to everything! Only .7 miles from train station.

Everything was perfect!

We had a lovely welcome. We were made to feel that nothing would be too much trouble. The rooms are huge with lovely views. Everything was spotless. The property is a Palazzo and has been in the family for over 100 years. The bedroom is decorated sympathetically with the age of the building but is still very comfortable to modern standards. The bathroom was huge with nice modern facilities and plenty of hot water. The location is excellent with lovely views of the harbour and castle. Breakfast is substantial and very tasty. It suited us very well but may not be to everyone’s taste. We are regular visitors to Italy and always stay in family owned b&b’s or hotel’s and the breakfast was quite typical with a few local extras added. I have seen some poor reviews and find them very unfair. This is not an international hotel, it is a family home that offers a very warm welcome for the discerning traveler

Parking arrangements- you are in the Centro Storico so cars weren’t invented when this area was built so you have to park at the port. If you park in the white lined bays it’s free, the blue ones are €1.50 an hour. We managed to get a free slot every day.

Great big room, little bit old fashioned (small batheroom) but clean and very comfortable, the host was very sweet and caring, extensive fresh breakfast. in the old town, near the Port where the fishermen sell their catch :). Great recommendation for dinner!

The shower is a little bit small but its peanuts by the rest!

Very comfortable and well appointed room. While hosts don't speak much English they are very friendly. Lovely breakfast. Location is perfect and there was free parking in the port area.

A bit hard to find initially. Would love places like this to offer laundry services, we are travelling for 7 weeks.

The room was large and with traditional tiled floors and an absolutely fantastic balcony with a great view over the port of Gallipoli. Close to a fabulous swimming beach. Mario Emmanuel was a charming host and created the BEST breakfast we have had in Puglia.
