The Palazzo and our room were beautifully decorated. Wonderful linen sheets on the bed. Ideally located. Excellent staff - Renato and Alessandra took great care of us -great restaurant recommendations as well as what to see in a short time.

The staff were very helpful and professional. The room (Idilia?) was spacious, quiet, clean and comfortable. The location is just superb for getting the most from the historic centre of Catania. Overall I would definitely recommend this hotel.

There are seven guest rooms which form part of a historic building so this is not a hotel in the traditional sense. Reception is manned during normal hours but there is not always someone to pick up the phone. Our room was very modern, others are more traditional so be aware of this when booking.

The location was perfect - right off the main square in the heart of Catania. We ordered breakfast on a number of days which was served in the room and offered a good selection of Sicilian and regular international options. The staff were great - very helpful and very friendly. The room itself was stunning - silk wall hangings with ornate furniture and cornicing. There were complimentary snacks, coffee and aperitivi available in the social area beside reception. Our plane was delayed and the staff waited to meet us late in the evening.

It feels like nit picking to point out that the building is a historic palazzo, so the corridors are a bit narrow and the great location means there is some noise outside the window, but the windows are modern so most of it is shut out anyway.

This hotel is 10/10. If only I could give it a higher score! It’s a very small intimate hotel in a renovated 400 year old Palazzo in a fabulous central location just off the central Piazza Duomo. What makes this hotel truly memorable and special is the totally professional, dedicated and helpful staff. Renato and his team, Alessandra and Serena, cannot do enough to help their guests and make them feel comfortable. No request was too small. They helped us with selecting the best places to eat and visit, the best tours, booked taxi’s etc and answered any queries we had. Other guests told us they had exactly the same experience with the staff.

Nothing. Being a historic old building there are stairs to climb but staff insist on carrying your cases to & from your room.

Location couldn't be better, just next to the cathedral square and the center of things in Catania. The staff were superb, immensely helpful and very courteous. Our room was reasonably spacious, well-appointed and comfortable. They have a very small lounge - we're talking seating for four - that offers free wine and snacks in the late afternoon.

There's nothing to dislike. It is a rather odd hotel in that it offers a small number (8? I think) rooms that are in a large building otherwise made up of condos. The hotel rooms are up one or two narrow flights of stairs. And the stairs are narrow and steep. Don't worry or be put off. The staff will absolutely not let you carry your own luggage up! I know. I tried. Our clerk was a rather small young woman. My bag: close to 30 pounds, my wife's about 25. No no no, I told the clerk. I won't let you do that, as she lifted my bag. She would not be dissuaded.

We had the 20 euro breakfast in our room. It was very nice and had everything we asked for included and delicious.

Our room the first night we stayed at Palazzo Marletta was wonderful. We stayed a second night a week later, and were given a different room. That room’s (Angelica) bathroom was smaller and immediately open to the entry door. Definitely not as appealing. Both rooms were the same price. So, be aware that not all rooms are equal, but still very attractive.

Loved the location, we were close to historic sites, as well as had the opportunity to visit the infamous fish market! We enjoyed walking around everyday and trying new restaurants. Went to Mt Etna for a day trip - really enjoyed learning about it. Really a beautiful hotel and staff were very friendly and especially helpful with transportation logistics for our next destination (particularly due to our limited Italian).

Fantastically appointed with great attitude from he staff. Breakfast has an extensive menu with local dishes. Located steps away from most of the city's landmarks.

Nothing really. But in case it is relevant to others, if you need parking and want the hotel's assistance you need to make sure you coordinate ahead of time with them. Also, front desk is not staffed 24 hours. You get keys to access the property after hours and a contact number. This seems to be a trend for this type of properties in Europe. It all works fine and actually gives you a sense of greater privacy.

We loved everything about Plazzo Marletta. From the moment we walked through the door, we felt welcomed by the highly professional and attentive personnel. Our beautiful room was spacious and clean. Nothing was missing. There were even things we didn't expect like a toothbrush and toothpaste! The hotel is located at The Elephant Square, the perfect place to start exploring the city and from where our guided tour started. We would definitely go back again... with great pleasure!

Awesome location, great service and hospitality from the reception lady - especially as we arrived late at night due to flight delays. Rooms are divine with so much history. Great location for sight seeing Catania. No parking on site but paid private car park close by worked well. Would 100% recommend and book again.
