The Social Hub Bologna

Accommodation: The place is really nice and clean, it is located very close to the train station and by a 10-15 walk to the city centre. The staff is very helpful, you can do by yourself the check in and the check out but the staff is always there to help you. You can also store your baggage if maybe you have a late departure. The pool is very clean, the water temperature is perfect, you can also request a towel from the reception. It has the perfect size for a quick bath or just to relax. Room: I was very nice surprised, the room was very spacious, the bathroom was modern, you had everything you needed, shampoo, shower gel, towels and hairdryer. Every day we had someone to clean our room.

I had a short stay but i will be back to check all facilities (bar, swimmingpool etc): it looks good. Nice easy self-checkin with computer. The single room had a comfortable bed and it was a good size. Nice snacks selection (not for free). Nice gadget in the shower showing water consumption.

There was a bad smell in the corridor, like sewage. The tv did not work: no channel signal The tails of the shower floor where moving and releasing some old water ...

As a solo traveller I really liked the hotel! The bed was really comfy. I liked the restaurant when you're not in the mood for searching good food anymore, just stay in the hotel. And the general atmosphere was really relaxed! Nice surprise that they threw a party because of the name change of the hotel. I also really appreciated the quite late check-out and the possibilty to store luggage for a while.

If you want to sleep early and your room facing the outside pool area, bring ear plugs as the music can be considerend loud sometimes.

Excellent facilities with AC throughout the entire building. Game room, offices, meeting rooms, restaurant/bar, courtyard, pool, laundry, auditorium and 24hr gym. The room was comfortable and the shower was perfect. WIFI was excellent across the hotel, perfect for working professionals. Free drinking water in restaurant. The staff was super friendly and the checkin/out process was smooth. The location is very handy for early flights or to catch a train.

Most tables were dirty and not cleaned throughout the day. The communal kitchen was also very dirty and I could not find any clean shared things to use and cook my own food. The tv wasnt smart so you couldnt connect to streaming apps.

Great hotel - the combined student accommodation and hotel concept is a great idea. The outdoor area with pool is a great addition although we didn’t use it much as it was cloudy. The rooms are very spacious and clean and include a coffee machine. The staff are very friendly. The location is good, there are nice restaurants nearby and the train station is a 5 min walk away. It takes a bit longer to walk into the centre - approx 25-30mins but it’s also pretty easy to catch the bus if you don’t fancy walking.

The bed and pillow wasn’t the most comfortable however just my personal opinion.

good location close to station. A bit far from center but bus stop right in front. Large comfy bed. Very clean. No issues. One request to refill our coffee (had not been done by cleaning). They came within a few minutes. Nice small pool. Good aircon, except too loud to keep on at night.

aircon a bit loud. bought breakfast one day, too expensive for the quality. But lots of options. Sounds from neighbours could be heard but no problems at night. Slef check in system caused a bit long line always by the reception and to get to speak to a person. But self check out was very fast and easy.

Very fancy place with swimming pools,bars, gym,common working places, meeting rooms. We could find parking places near the building (on weekends it's free from Friday 6pm to Monday 8 am). There are several programs for guests like dj sets, group yoga,etc. Room was clean and tidy and big enough for 2 person. Staff is very helpful and kind. Very close to the central railway station (5 minutes walking) and for the airport as well (with Marconi Express, taxi oe by car is about 10 minutes).

Breakfast is good but should be more variable (it was the same for 4 days). One big (double) sheet instead of two single

Almost everything... first of all the modern youthful vibe of the place, complimented by the casual business facilities. Room was spacious, had a safe that even fitted our two laptops. Hussle free entrance to the hotel via touhless card at nights, a bar downstairs (even automatic free cold water dispenser for when the bar is closed or you just want free water), entrance controls with dedicated elevators per floor (that can only be entered via doors with touhless cards). Location was great, next to the Bologna central railway (which unlike most European cities is not where the... not so productive groups of societies gather). You can literally hop on and off the train to the hotel and backwards in 5-10 minutes by walking. We took the chance to take the train to Modena (30 minutes) and Fiorentina (40 minutes). Didn't use it but from what I gathered the central bis station is also close. Cute cafe/bakeries and delicious trattorias close by. All in all an excellent choice for the the crowd that prefers city urban escapes and does not mind taking sometime during the day to work, as there are plenty of space in the hotel and even a dedicated work space. Right across the hotel there is a bus station where you can take a number of buses taking you to the old town (if you do t want to walk 15 minutes) and it costs just 1.5e per ride (75 minutes). I will definitely be checking out this franchise as I loved their youth-leisure-business combo concept as I saw on their website they have expanded (or planning to soon) to more European cities.

The self check-in procedure althought a good idea takes too long (if the self check-in system recognised me by my booking.com booking ID, why can't it draw my booking info directly from there and I stead I need to enter all the info manually...) Also SOME of the staff seem to like to take their time performing their tasks when there is more than one guest in the line.

A quite different type of accommodation for us - being in our late 60’s- but we knew that when we booked. It is partly student accommodation and part hotel. It is actually a great concept The Social Hub and spreading world wide. Look it up - very interesting ! We had a spacious, very quiet room on the 3rd floor- comfortable bed and very modern and clean bathroom. I used the gym twice there and it was more than adequately equipped. There is a nice swimming pool with spacious outdoor terrace and seating available. You definitely don’t feel like you are on a university campus! It is about a 15 minute easy walk past the train station into the centre of Bologna. The staff were all very courteous and helpful. Great capacity underground car park with easy access to lifts.
