Carrickdale Hotel & Spa

Our stay was amazing, The bedroom was larger, clean and spacious. We had a jacuzzing bath which was beautiful, a tea station and a mini fridge. There was robes and slippers in the wardrobe which was such a nice touch. The swimming pool was lovely, and never too busy, as well as the beautiful indoor and outdoor jacuzzi. Food was amazing and fast, we ate in the bar and also the secret garden which both had lots of options. The gardens were amazing, and were beautifully looked after. We will be returning, as this stay was so relaxing.

Very good breakfast room service and restaurant

Corridors and restaurant was too cold and spa was too far a walk across the road for us. Should warn people on their profile

Beautiful grounds and a few different options of places to eat. We had lovely pizza in the secret garden. A beautiful open roofed eating area in the gardens with a small park beside it which was perfect as we travelled with 2 kids. We enjoyed the leisure facilities as the sauna, steam room, plunge pool and jacuzzi are all in the pool area -so we took turns enjoying these while one another looked after the kids. Kids were allowed in the jacuzzi which was a nice treat for them.

Bedrooms were spacious, however very warm. There is quite a busy road outside so there was a fair bit of noise from it with the window open. Fans in the room would be a nice touch. Small point and it was a warm July evening, so this would not put us off booking again.

Honestly I couldn't say a bad word about anything regarding our stay in the Carrickdale The food in the restaurant was lovely and staff were extremely friendly and helpful, We were celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary with our children as we'd had our wedding reception there also. Our bedroom was very spacious and the jacuzzi bath was amazing. We also really enjoyed walking through the stunning gardens in the evening and there were lots of opportunities to take photos. I definitely hope to be back to stay in the hotel again (maybe for our 30th anniversary 🤞)

The view from our bedroom wasn't great (the bank out the back of the hotel and oil tanks)! However this did not impact on our stay whatsoever!

Beautiful hotel with lovely friendly staff. Ideal location between Dublin and Belfast. Family room of 2 single beds and 1 double bed spacious, clean and tidy. Lunch lovely in the lounge, bar area. Service very good. Pool sauna jacuzzi and Outdoor hot tub all spick and span. Gardens a delight, such manicured lawns. Ideal for photos, families, weddings and any occasion. Dinner in restaurant exceptional. Hot Hot food and plenty of it. Friendly staff through out the hotel from reception to waitresses to domestic staff. Service excellent. Very reasonable cost. Cocktail list impressive and good. Would definitely stay again.

The Irish Coffee needs perfecting.

First time at the carrickdale and we really enjoyed it. Was my friends birthday and 7 off us were due to go however one kept dropping out at a time so we were constantly mailing changing rooms ect but the staff who we were dealing with were more than accommodating and patient with us. Staff were really lovely and could not do more to help us. We went to the bar and there the staff also went the extra mile there was one lovely waitress slim ginger curly hair served us most off the night she was really lovely and put up with out drunken antics without a problem. I would definitely recommend and we will be coming back for sure

The staff were all so lovely and so friendly. It really makes such a difference when you go somewhere and the staff make your stay that much better by being nice and helpful. Also I loved the secret garden and the numerous facilities for the kids!

It would have been nice to have breakfast included and the food was a little bit pricey but not a deal-breaker.

The location suited us as we were meeting friends there. The secret garden and cafe across the road are gorgeous and we were sorry we didn't have breakfast there as breakfast in the hotel was very poor. The leisure centre was lovely with outdoor hot tub.

Breakfast was very poor quality. One staff member serving at dinner was quite abrupt

Menu for breakfast was quite limited eg no omelette, pancakes etc available. Also , they arrived with cooked breakfast before I had finished my cereal. They gave my partner his breakfast and returned mine to kitchen. Should have waited till both finished and served then. Room was very spacious and comfortable. Leisure area was very well equipped and clean. Brilliant steam room. Lovely location and ideal for touring Cooley Peninsula. Good value for money

Secret garden food was lovely. Tea and scones also. Outdoor hot tub is a must.

Everything was perfect except for breakfast. It was a very poor experience for such a lovely hotel. Understaffed and options were minimal. No soya or dairy free milk available and a squeaky bottle of golden syrup arrived on our table for the porridge order, this was not maple syrup as described. We felt the waitress was overwhelmed so we didnt feel comfortable during our breakfast sitting. On our next morning we went over to secret garden restaurant for our breakfast and this was amazing and great value with beautiful surroundings and staff were polite and accommodating.
