Avlon House Bed and Breakfast

The place is really near from the train station and restaurants/cafe. Tom was really way beyond nice and very hospitable. We definitely recommend this place for single/couple/family. A great getaway from the city to relax and unwind. Will definitely come back. P.S. I requested Tom a simple birthday cake for my husband to be given at breakfast and he was able to pull it off smoothly and my husband was really surprised! We were able to share the cake with other guests as well and the cake was delicious! Kudos to you Tom! - Filipino couple from Dublin

The accommodation is very picturesque, and the cleanliness was flawless during our entire stay. The hosts were incredibly friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable about the local area for sights and events. I would wholeheartedly recommend to anyone wishing to stay in carlow. Should I need to visit again, this will be the first place I check for availability.

There was nothing to dislike

Some may not think to consider Carlow as a stop and stay point while traveling Ireland...but you ABSOLUTELY should. This was one of our favorite places. The town is low key and wonderful. The restaurants are spectacular. (We're still talking about our dinner at Café 500) Avlon House was spot on. Fabulous. The care Tom provided was exceptional. THE BREAKFAST was to die for. Tom not only provided us a wonderful place to stay, but he also took the time to talk with us and let us know of the special areas in town and close by to visit. Our rooms were great. Spacious and warm. Comfortable beds and clean bathrooms. Exceptional amenities. The home was beautifully decorated and cozy. We were next door to our kids upstairs and it was perfect. If you need a place to stay while traveling the area, stay with Tom at Avlon. You won't regret it.

Not a single thing, except having to leave.

The location is very central and was about a 5 minute walk to amenities. The room was spacious with plenty of storage. The bathroom was immaculate and the room was well maintained each day. Wifi was quick and the TV has a range of channels available. The breakfast was very tasty and plenty of variety to suit all tastes. The only complaint I could make is you'd probably eat too much as Tom's breakfast offerings are excellent. The owner was very engaging, accommodating and welcoming. There is plenty of off street parking at the property. Tom made some very good recommendations for eating out and places to see (Thank you). Highly recommend staying here if you are visiting Carlow or even just passing through. Worth every penny and you won't be disappointed.

I booked Avalon B&B for my Mother and to say she loved her time there would be an understatement! Absolutely exceptional service, the rooms are decorated to make it feel like home away from home and the breakfast was outstanding. I will be recommending Avalon to all of my family and friends who are looking for accommodation in Carlow. Thank you for going above and beyond.

We had a great stay at Avlon house for four nights. The room was clean and comfortable. Ample car parking in the grounds which was good for sometimes at B&B you have to filter unto road parking. Breakfast was delicious and with plenty of choice giving you a good to our day. Tom our host could not have done more for us. Thank you Tom We hope to return again. Eileen and Sydney N. Ireland

Everything was very satisfactory.

Superb facilities. Lovely ambience. Excellent hosts. Delicious breakfast. Fantastic attention to detail. Very friendly and welcoming.

Erm..... I'm trying really hard to think of something..... The shower head could have been a little lower, I had to stretch to reach it..... but that could be a good thing it might help me grow taller 😂

The breakfast was absolutely lovely. Everything was immaculate, with the room serviced every day to an extremely high standard. Our host Tom was very friendly and helpful. The B&B was only a 10 minute walk from the centre of Carlow, so very convenient.

There was nothing that we felt needed to be improved.

Beautiful place and probably the best equipped of any we’ve stayed in. Tom thought of every little thing down to a comb, toothbrush etc. great choices for breakfast including quiche, eggs Benedict etc. it was a super easy walk into town. we were surprised that there were so many things to see in the area including beautiful gardens and hiking trails.

if we stayed again we’d request a room at the back of the house as there was some street noise.

loved everything about this property…we had a twin room with shower en-suite that came equipped with little toiletries. There was also a little basket with items that you might have forgotten like toothbrush, razor etc. There was tea/coffee facilities, an alarm clock an even a booklet to give you info on the surrounding area an places to visit. Have to say the breakfast was exceptional an absolutely credit to Tom
