Vila Ombak

This place is great - close enough to the party scene but far enough not to hear it when you want to sleep. Lots of great coffee shops, restaurants, bars within walking distance. Two large pool areas (with great music and vibes) plus private beach area across the road that you can see from the pool, with ample sun loungers to go round. Didn't make use of them but they had all kinds of water aids including canoes on offer. They also had onsite massage/spa, tour office, medical centre and more - fully equipped for everything you may need. The grounds are really well kept, 'de-mosquitoed' daily and you feel very safe with the number of 24/7 staff on hand. I was unwell when I arrived and had to order room service for breakfast - the guy on the phone was super concerned about my health and even remembered I was unwell when I eventually emerged for the buffet breakfast days later. Very thoughtful and genuinely nice staff. My telephone wasn't working when I arrived and within 2 hours of messaging them about it, an an engineer was round to fix it. If the room service visit was inconvenient, they would always come back at the agreed time. The rooms are HUGE and beautiful. I stayed in the Superior Lumbung Terrace which was cheaper than the crappy hotel room I had a few doors down before. Was on the 2nd floor (first floor up) built in an authentic style with pitched, tiled roof and some sort of reed on the inside. Felt like being in a cabin! (It creeks as the heat/AC does its thing - it's not bugs!) Aside from the occasional ant looking for crumbs (which you can't avoid out here) there were no gnarly encounters - the place was super clean. The room had an empty mini bar, TV (although no channels), desk area and lots of room. Bed was SO comfy The bathroom was just as big and had loads of vanity space as well as a good shower that worked well.

The buffet, by their own admission in their room service folder, is "simple". It didn't set my world on fire with just 'coffee pot' coffee but they had all the basics like fruit, eggs, mini pancakes, pastries etc... Cappuccinos are extra. Not a criticism: Gili T is a predominantly muslim island and i went during Ramadan - I'm used to the beautiful sounds of the Adaan (call to prayer from mosques) so it didn't bother me and it wasn't even loud. But this is just a heads up in case you think it'll drive you crazy (although you should know there are mosques every where so you can't really avoid it)

it was our 3rd time staying on Gili Trawangan & 3rd stay at Vila Ombak. it’s an Amazing location you can walk to from the boat & less than 20m’s from the main strip of restaurants, but at the end so it’s not crowded or busy out the front. the staff are outstanding. From the moment you arrive you are made to feel welcome & they could not be any more lovely. we enjoyed chatting with the staff & the friendly hello’s each morning. Buffet breakfast & the pool bar & restaurant are all great quality & good value for money. (including room service) Our 2 King sized beds were so comfortable, with linen & pillows to match. house keeping were fantastic for the whole stay. the rooms outdoor bathroom was a nice touch with lovely greenery & high walls for privacy. always fresh towels & bathroom amenities stocked Vila Ombak also offers seafood bbq dinner on the beach, as well as bike hire, tour booking & has its own day spa & 24/7 medical centre. highly recommend & will be coming back

the 2nd pool (hidden pool) needs some touch ups & the bar was not open during our stay. in previous stays this has been open so we assume this was due to lack of tourism from 2020-2022 and that we were visiting in low season prior to any maintenance for the year. also, some minor upgrades are required around the main pool deck, but certainly not anything that would stop from recommending or staying again.

Great location right on the beach and close to restaurants and bars. Staff were excellent and super helpful.

Some of the rooms and amenities are starting to look a little old but the hotel is renovating. Everything was cleaned thoroughly and the housekeeping standard was good.

Main pool was good. excellent pool & bar staff, Rear pool (hidden pool) needs some work deck & loungers in a poor state of repair. Very good breakfast & all you can eat bbq excellent, but felt that the lunch menu could do with some snack items like chicken fingers & satays etc. Excellent location close to everything

The only negative came on the last day, as check out was noon we decided to take our main luggage to the boat company and check in then return for a final dip in the pool and change before checking out, however upon returning to our room we found it unlocked and our belongings removed, my partner approached the cleaners who were several rooms away, she retrieved our missing items from the cleaning trolly however a hat had to be retrieved from a cleaner who had possession of it inside another room.

Absolutely everything, staff is excellent, friendly,polite and very helpful and professional. Rooms are big and beautiful, clean, spacious, resort is stunning with the nature, rooms from outside look like traditional houses. Two pools just amazing, one more quite to relax and other one to have some good time with good music and delicious cocktails. Food is great and dinner on the beach is breathaking. Been a lot around the world and staying in a lot of hotels amd resorts, but this one had a special charm.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this stunning villa in Bali, and I must say it exceeded all my expectations. The highlight of the villa is undoubtedly the amazing pool, which provided the perfect oasis for relaxation and enjoyment. The staff were incredibly friendly, attentive and truly added to the overall positive experience. The vibe of the villa was undeniably amazing, with a sense of tranquility and rejuvenation that made for a truly memorable stay. I would highly recommend this villa to anyone looking for a luxurious and peaceful retreat in Bali

Location is perfect & staff are all really friendly, polite, smiley & helpful. The main pool is great with the swim up bar. We renewed our wedding vows here & they did a really great job. Check in was nice & easy too. Very efficient. Loved the bikes included in the villas which we used all the time. Paddle boarded outside the hotel which was also great.

It’s tired & needs investment, especially for how much I was charged. All the decking around the pool is lifting, the rooms are very tired & need refurbishing. We had 2 villas with pools which were spacious but a little run down, the toilets are effectively outside so it’s a hot bathroom. Breakfast is terrible, poor selection & quality and too busy. It’s an expensive place & then when asking for a cappuccino at breakfast instead of filter coffee I’m told it’s additional which is odd!

After landing and seeing the main strip’s hotels in the flesh, I chose Ombak and it was worth it. It’s the best on the strip for sure. Stunning pool with waterfall and swim up bar. Excellent service (except for a grumpy room service guy) and daily housekeeping. Whoever folds the pool towels smokes like a chimney but who doesn’t like a little smoke with their wet towels. Breakfast is rather dire and I’d recommend elsewhere. The spa is insanely good. The first massage I got was literally the best I’ve ever had in my life - she’ll have knocking down her door to get in. However the second girl was so bad it felt like chalk down a blackboard. Go figure. There’s a 24 hour medical clinic on the grounds which is handy for excessive alcohol/sun consumption. Overall I thoroughly recommend it, the beauty of the grounds will be the perfect holiday you’ve dreamed off. Giant chess sets and pool tables set amongst the trees. Stunning old trees and frangipanis everywhere. Rooms are gracious and spacious with bad art and the air conditioner will blow an arctic gale if so desired. Indeed the fridge literally froze my fruit solid. Bathrooms are larger than most peoples apartments. My toilet offered up some peculiarly and unpleasant smells but think that’s fairly common here. Despite very old wooden boards that may give you a pinch or two on passing, the heart of the place is the pool, views of the beach and the peaks of Lombok carpeted in green, listening to the waterfall and tinkling of the trotting ponies on the boulevard outside. The pool is large and well kept. There are no rowdy teenagers or children (or adults) for that matter. It’s a lot more gentile, and insta worthy than the other places I saw. There are baggage porters and room services and you can get CNN and HBO on the tv. Staff are pure joy - such wonderful service. It’s close enough to the action but not noisy (other than the call to prayer) perfectly situated. Walk from the ferry (5 min walk) or take a horse.

We stayed in a Lumbung Hut and it was great. The fully outdoor bathroom was fantastic and I can confirm extremely private! This is the second time I have stayed at Vila Ombak (first in 2018) and it didn't disappoint. Really lovely hotel and service. I would also recommend the spa. We had the romantic couples treatment and it was incredible. Good value! The pool areas are a great place to relax and enjoy the sun and happy hour!

There's a bit of sunbed reservation bad behaviour that I thought only happened in Europe! Would be good if the staff intervened and didn't allow people to put towels on beds at 8am then not return to them until 1pm. We saw this happen and said woman who had done it lost her mind when she came back to find other people had taken her sunbeds.....twice. She then had the audacity to throw both parties off the beds.

One of the very beautiful scenic and large resort situated on the eastern part of the island buzzing with activities and shops!! Very close to Harbour..Lies just opposite to the beach with hoardes of restaurants,money exchange shops, eateries lined up in few meters of walk. Tip for Indian Travellers-Directly head to Pesona Beach Resort and Spa for Authentic Indian Food few meters away from Ombak

- I was amazed when such a star resort asked me to pay when i asked them to send 3 empty plates to my room.Having stayed all over the world in top resorts i have never experience this service and denial to such a small request.I request management to kindly look into this policy and amend per global standards please..
