Joeys Hostel

We stayed in a double private room. The room is spacious for 2 people, the en-suite bathroom is modern, with hot and cold water, all toiletries (including toilet paper upon request) were provided and the AC unit was powerful and silent. The location is not exactly in the main tourist area BUT they are 5 min walk to the metro and from there you can go anywhere in the city. We didn’t join but they also provide tours to the main attractions of old Delhi for a good price.

They entrance looks almost like the building is been abandoned for years, with garbage outside and the name of the Hotel is almost completely washed away by time and the Sun. The general aspect of the common areas is OK but it could be cleaner and needs some care. Also, even if our room was for two people, the room had only one towel, the second one together with the toilet paper were provided at no charge upon request, however it would be nice if the staff prepare the room accordingly for the number of guests before hand.

The staff is quite friendly and makes the stay nice. They are doing city tours that can be quite helpful for people who just arrived to India and do not how to move around yet etc. The showers and toilets were quite nice. There is a small kitchen, free drinking water and other drinks for sell. Rooftop for hanging out with friends/new friends you just met there. Lot of street food around. Close access to metro/subway. The lockers(take your lock).

The place can get quite full when there are lot of people. I was confused who is actually working there and who is a guest with many people running around. People leave their luggage around the room(not the fault of the hostel). Receptionist could tell me that there is another floor with common room and rooftop so I would know that. I found out randomly. They can improve the sign on the street, it can be tricky to find it. There is security guy who will open the doors for you, but when he is not there/hiding from the sun, the sign is hard to see among the thousands of others signs on the busy street. Someone took my water bottles from the fridge, I believe that staff lol.

This is one of my all time top favorite hostels I’ve ever been too. Joeys was the first stop in India and first stop on my trip. Immediately Suhel, Nitin, and Kabira and the rest of the staff took me in and showed me a good time in the city. I did the walking tours in Old Delhi and the Tibetan market, and some shopping areas - everything from the food recommendations to where they suggested I visit in the city was amazing. Best food, good people, and location that felt safe for Delhi - couldn’t ask for more. The guys there are always there to help and want you to experience Delhi how it really should be seen!!! Stay here if you want to get a good start to your trip and then try Joeys hostel in Agra too when you want to get to Agra. Also they did help with buying a train ticket and getting a SIM card and you can ignore the other reviews. They do a good job to make sure that you’re well accommodated and you have everything you need.

Nothing - just would have liked to stay here longer!

One of the best hostels I’ve been to. The staff creates friendly and welcoming environment inside the hostel with bonfires, parties and watching films on the rooftop of the hostel. Also they provide numerous tours around some sightseeings and areas in Delhi. Dorms and washrooms are cleaned daily. Facilities are working properly (showers, washrooms and warm water since it’s cold). Also you can get SIM cards and snacks inside the hostel. WiFi is good and it can sustain video calls since they have couple of floors and numerous WiFi spots. I stayed here for 2 weeks more. Sometimes I spent numerous days staying inside the hostel only socialising. So for me this is one of those hostels that can give you not only a lodging and some services but also some knowledge about local culture, traditions and food simply by talking with locals since I’m travelling for a long time already.

I stayed there for a long time, I can not find something smth bothering my stay. Long live, hostel!

Well this hostel used to be good ...now losing its Vibes

Great hostel. I stayed in the 12 bed dorm which had really clean beds and excellent bed curtains with a lot of privacy and your own socket and locker. It's beside a metro station which takes u to the centre quickly and it's in a great area that is gritty with great cheap food in the streets around it. The hostel is several floors with a rooftop terrace. Many washrooms and no waiting. Hot water in one of the showers that I always went in. Sell beer and water. Reception available 24 hours. A great socializing place.

The washrooms could be cleaned more. Bad wifi in some of the rooms but in some common areas excellent wifi

The hostel is only a couple minutes walking from the metro which is good because I stayed here only one night just to fly out of Delhi (I stayed in a different hostel when I previously spent a few days in Delhi and wish I had chosen Joey’s then). To get to the airport you have to change trains twice but it is very easy and so cheap! The hostel seemed very social and appeared to have events on every night. Beds comfy with curtains, and the girls bathroom on the first floor had 3 toilets and 3 showers, so plenty of space. Staff were very friendly, too. I would definitely stay again.

The top bunk was rather hard to climb up, the railing on the bed is short and far from the latter so there’s not really anything to grab onto, but it’s okay. There is a rooftop which is super nice but while I was there all the furniture was pushed to one side… maybe because of rain? But it seemed like missed potential.

Location is near to metro station, friendly and helpful staff, plenty of common area and common kitchen, Nice crowd, Spacious rooms, comfortable beds.

Ventilation was poor in common area. Washrooms could have better sanitary ware.

Everything in the hostel was great! What i liked the most were the private room and the staff which is very helpfull with any information that you need. Private rooms are awesome. Spacious, clean, confortable and a great bathroom, with hot shower, which is not a thing in many Delhi hostels. Dorms are great too. Hot shower was available for dorms on the 1st floor but i stayed also in a dorm on the 3rd floor and there was not hot water at the time. But probably was a temporary malfunction. Overall it was great experience and i totally recommend Joey's hostel for backpackers and couples on a budget :)

I had a great time staying there. Specially the people i met, made some really good friends. Barbecue and Holi Party was amazing. The property is very close to the Laxmi Nagar Metro station and it's well connected with all tourist places in Delhi. Kudos to Nitin and Sohail for their wonderful hospitality at Joey's Hostel.

People are more foreigner oriented specially if you are a local, their behaviour might be different towards you. (A couple of staffs are like that only, apart from them all the staffs were really helpful.)
