IntercityHotel Saarbrücken

Good location and parking in the adjacent multi-storey car park. We had bikes on the back of our car and left them on in the car park for the 2 nights. Light bar meals are available at night, a choice of 6 dishes, which is good if you don't feel like another restaurant meal. The room was comfortable, a good size and clean.

The one thing that should be addressed (other reviews have mentioned this as well) is the glass panel between the bathroom and sleeping area, so.if one person goes to the bathroom during the night, the bright light is dusturbs the other person. The solution would be simply to replace the very short decorative curtain to the side of the glass screen with a full-length curtain that can be pulled across if desired.

Breakfast was full. I would like filter coffee but there wasn t plus these coffee machines that nowadays every hotel uses, are a bit poorly serviced - coffee is extremely hot you burn yourself .. otherwise everything good.

There was only one staff member not smiling not very helpful or keen to help somewhat inpolite. Mey be she was stressed. A colleague of hers apologised on her behalf. We are all humans.. but reception people mandate to have these specific skills , not to say ‘ no ‘ straight away. Also please add food to facilities for the tired visitors who visit for work and are hungry! They will love the hotel more if some food can be offered. ( currently have 4 pasta options preprepaired but they run out from the one i choose so.. anyways that s for improvement

I had already heard good things about the hotel, that's why booked it. Will definitely recommend it. Staff was friendly, breakfast is nice and room are spacious and have all the amenities For cooling/heating you have option to control the temperature 21 +/-3 degrees, which I think is very efficient. From what I understood, if your room window is open, the control system will not give you the option to change temperature. [Good control of energy]

1. I tried calling reception from room phone, but no one picked the call.

The team were excellent, good breakfast but one of the two coffee machines was turned off with the explanation that there were not enough people having breakfast to turn on the second machine; the next morning there were twice the number and the machine was still off! Eggs were often lukewarm, but these are minor, overall this was a great place to stay - the bowl of chili was outstanding! Can't say enough about the hotel staff, always helpful.

There was only a single pillow on the double bed so i had to get one from reception. Suggest you put spare pillows in sealed bags in the room so guests dont have to ask for more. Air con control too complicated Needs a sign over the car park entrance to indicate intercity hotel so guests identify it better. Check in took too long but since she didnt speak english thats understandable.

The Hotel Location was perfect within walking distance to the vibrant centre of Saarbrucken, the room was very modern and spacious. The breakfast was superb a wonderful choice that would suit everyone the staff were very helpful and told us of a great restaurant to go at night in the centre, overall would definitely stay there again. The garage was right next door with a lift directly into hotel

Staff were very friendly and always willing to help. As none of our group spoke German, the staff we always willing to try and speak English (which i know is ridiculous as we are in your country), which was greatly appreciated.

Nothing, stay was one of my best and great location central to all the happenings.

The breakfast was good, nice selection to chose from and the ability to go back for more. I liked the option to elect to skip a room cleaning and get a €5 credit to use at the bar (although I didn't use it). The location is convenient to the Saabrücken Bahnhof which is good but also means it's busy, my bedroom on the first floor over the entrance ended up being a little noisy for a light sleeper.

I didn't like the soap dispensers at the bathroom sink and shower, it took a minute or two to realise I had to squeeze them to use them (I was looking for a lever to dispense the soap). As a light sleeper I was a little unhappy about how much noise actually comes through from the street below, I would think if an event took place oppose the hotel it would have not been possible to sleep if it went late.

Very convenient for the centre and station. A new hotel, very well appointed. Clean and smart. Excellent facilities. The staff was professional and friendly. Vanessa should have a special mention for her excellent customer service. Nothing too much trouble and always a smile. Coffee and tea facilities and fridge in room a real plus. Breakfast was plentiful and fresh.

Very nice and helpful staff, comfortable and spacious rooms (quiet as well), good beds. Would return for another stay.

In the room, there was a slight scent of tobacco smoke, although smoking is forbidden. The breakfast was ok, but not great. One dark bread type was of low quality, the juice tasted like a nectar, the coffee machine did not have an espresso button, there were only 3 slices (2 sorts) of cheese and very few tomatoes left. Nutella I had to scratch from the jar with the knife because it was at the very end. There was no person neither at the entrance of the breakfast room nor did anyone come later, to ask for a refill. Only boiled eggs (rather hard), no scrambled eggs.
