Mercure Hotel Düsseldorf City Center

It was a really big room with additional table, armchairs, chairs, comfortable bed, fridge and set of tea, small coffee machine for a capsules. A lot of windows (view to the street). Air conditioning. Wifi. Very close to the main train station - Hbf.

APPROX. 4:20 a.m.(on Sat./Sun.) the police were knocking on the room next door. It was a very stressful experience because it was the middle of the night. At first we were very scared. The police visit lasted almost an hour. It turned out that the police were called by the hotel staff. We couldn't sleep practically until the morning :/ It was a very uncomfortable situation and night. The next day the hotel staff didn't say a word about it (we were also not apologized for such discomfort).

My first vitsit to this hotel was in 1990. The personnel is very professional, warm and höflich, among the best I have come across during 30 years of travelling. We had breakfast on the hotel one morning. My travel companion has celiac disease. We got glutenfree bread by preorder, and it was excellent.

Reading the signs for the spreads was too confusing for my companion, as there can’t be even the smallest bit of gluten anywhere, so we made other arrangements after one breakfast. 24 EUR per person for breakfast is a bit much.

The Hotel is a 5 min walk from the train station. I walked there alone at 6am and 10pm and felt comfortable and safe. The room furniture was dated but the room was clean and quite spacious. Breakfast (12 Euros) was excellent.

Hotel guests smoking directly in front of the entrence. Staff member did not know how to get to the airport with public transportation. Of course I was able to find out at the train station. But is is only a 15 min train ride for 3.10 Euros and trains run every 20 minutes.

The Hotel is very centric only 10 mins from the main train station Düsseldorf Hauptbahnhof Also good tram comunicación to the City centre or easy walking distancie... It also has a good buffet breakfast and a nice bar and Restaurant.

I was in room 106 a very nice Big room, good bed and lovely bathroom with gel, shampoo and hair dryer. The main door to my room had no lock not working, not even a do not disturb sign. Two men came into my room without knocking and run out again when they seen me.. NOT GOOD AT ALL WITH THE KNOCKER NOT BEING ABLE TO CLOSE..

The hotel employees were fantastic. They were extraordinary - attentive, polite and did. all they could to make my stay perfect. The Omelettes made to order were superb.

It felt like a 10 out of 10 stay, except for the noise from the neighbors behind the hotel. This was no fault of the hotel, but there were loud voices from neighbors after 11 pm, loud music once. If I had kept the windows closed, it would have been breiter, but I like some fresh air.

The room was clean and plenty of space inside. Sleeping in the bed sheets and pillows was good and warm.

No house cleaning for 5 days straight starting with 31 december. First day on arrival not a single access card worked. Had to wait close to 24 hrs to get some cards that can open our room. Front entrance card reader was hard to ... read any cards. Temperature in the room was lower than expected. AC system didn't do anything to heat it up and there was a single water based heater underneath a window curtain but it lacked the power to heat the whole room.

- Very good location, just 5 min walk to the train station. - The room is large, comfortable, and well-equipped. - The staff cares about the customers' opinions. We were offered a very quite room with an extra-large bed as we required.

- The cleaning staff move our stuff and do not bring it back to the correct place. - The liquid soap was running out, but not refilled in time.

Very comfy bed, good size room with small balcony. All facilities were there. Car park on street free from 8pm, so that was a bonus.

Room booked for two (and toddler) only one tea bag each -green fruit and normall, meaning only one of us could have normal tea. So that was a bit annoying. 4 normal tea bags wouldnt be so much to ask for not everyone drinks coffee.

Nikita at check in was fantastic. So welcoming so professional and really knows how to deal with guests of all ages and backgrounds. She gave us so much information on Düsseldorf and was just super cool to talk to. The hotel is so close to Hopbanhof! So worth booking to keep travelling with cases to a minimum

Shame the hotel doesn't have a gym! We booked a single room each so naturally beds were quite small

The room was really comfortable, spacious, clean and quiet. The fridge was very helpful and had all the amenities required.

Nothing to point out. Maybe the furniture and overall deco is bit outdated, and the parking is a bit expensive, but that didn't affect our stay that was very good.
