Hotel BIG MAMA Berlin

Very kind staff, nice common spaces in- and outside (huge sofas, colors, decoration, Big Mama private beach ^^), very convenient location (tram, U-bahn, restaurants, but also quiet environment), comfortable beds, big rooms. Thank you Big Mama for the pleasant stay !

I awarded an 8 instead of a 9 for one important thing : there is no curtains on the windows, or very thin and translucent ones. In summer, sun rises around 4:30 am in Berlin. So it would change everything for our sleeping comfort if Big Mama decided to hang blackout curtains ! ^^

The hostel is located five minutes from the underground and close to tram and buses, as well as supermarkets. There’s a lovely Ethiopian restaurant close by. Everything was spotless clean, and they offer free tea throughout the day. The Panke riverside is one minute away, such a lovely spot.

There was only one bathroom (toilet and shower) for eight people. The room needs a thicker curtain, not everybody is used to sleeping in daylight. The buffet breakfast they offer looked good and plenty, but it is insanely overpriced. there’s a small cafe half a minute away where you can get the same things for half the price, at least.

The hostel is located in a very quiet neighbourhood so I could sleep with the window open, the room and the bathroom were clean. The bedding was of very good quality and the bed itself was very comfortable to get a good night sleep. I really liked the breakfast as well, plenty of choice + unlimited filter coffee. There was also an option of gluten free bread upon request - which was amazing, as I didn't expect that! You just need to ask the receptionist, and the kitchen staff will bake it for you within 10 min or so. Overall, a very good vibe.

the hotel is very nice, inviting lobby, relaxed atmosphere, large rooms, friendly staff. Marlen- was super helpful and friendly. the breakfast was generous and varied. you can have complementary tea throughout the day for free. they even have a small table-tennis which our son loved. the location is also not central but easy to arrive to with public transportation, and not too far from the city-center. the room was comfortable, large, comfortable and clean bed, well heated. small TV that we didn't use anyway. the toilet could be cleaner but overall- very reasonable and good-enough for us. bottom line- much appreciated and very much recommended. thanks for a wonderful stay!

Nice staff, clean and comfy rooms, cute lobby, good breakfast (not included in room price) pretty garden, playground, canal behind the property. Comfortable beds and pillows. Fridge, sink, coffee maker and electric tea kettle in room. Easy to get to other locations by Ubahn, bus, or tram.

The neighborhood felt a little sketchy at night--someone through something through the lobby window and shattered it one night. It was fixed quickly. But pleasant neighborhood during the day--not a big variety of restaurants in close walking distance. Family room had annoying motion detected light which came on and off any time someone walked near it and sometimes when no one was anywhere near it.

The people working in customer service was really nice and room was relatively large. We had the opportunity to rent bikes and go to the center(relatively cheap). Really cheap coffee and drinks from the bar. Next to the hotel, there was a small bakery for getting a cheap snacks.

Noise isolation was not that good, and its location is far away from the center. Unfortunately all the rental bikes were one size (for short people is not really helpful..).

Hostel is made from block of flats, rooms have much space, and tidy. You almost feel like at home. Good shower. Good internet. I didn't wanna leave so fast. Unfortunetally, I booked only for one night. That's a good spot for future visits. And there's no noise outside in the morning, it's in reletivelly closed and quite part. Cause it's in the inside of the blocks.

Surrounding district not very attractive.. But still, you can find some kebab shop, or barber..

I thought the rooms were very good, there was plenty of locker space and shelf space for each bed. I stayed one night in the female dorm and one night in the 8 bed dorm and with both it felt like I was in a four bed dorm with plenty of room. The location was great with easy public transport access. The staff were very helpful and super kind and let me drop my bags off early and then also let me wait at the hostel for a midnight train out of Berlin. I was really appreciative for all their help. This is a great place to stay.

The hotel is a bit outside the city center (20 minutes) but has close public transportation access. It was straightforward to get around. The hotel room and space were clean, well-designed, and very comfortable. The staff was amiable and very attentive (Best experience from staff I've had in a while). I also need to know where they got their mattresses, it was very very comfortable. Highly recommend staying here.

Kind, positive, relaxed atmosphere - excellent staff. Comfy lounge/breakfast area and outdoor terrace, plenty of space for laptop work. Easy check in and check out. Affordable craft beer. Good music. Lots of choice food at breakfast. Towels and hair/body wash provided. Short walk from U train line.

The shower was relatively clean, but could have been cleaner and made the stay more enjoyable - it's the space one is most nervous about when sharing with strangers so super clean would be best.
