Have been a few times as it is really convenient for the ferry back to the UK and always exceptional food and welcoming. We ended up parked right outside the room we were given which was brilliant 😎

This has never happened before but we were given a room which had an adjoining door to another room. Which wasn’t lockable. We could hear everything in their room so also they could hear us also but as well as that, we were worried that they could enter our room accidentally. We put chair under the door but we weren’t comfortable with the scenario and had to sleep with our valuables under our pillow.

We have visited 3 times now in the Winter/Spring. for us it started as a convenient place to stop the night before crossing the channel and driving home as we had already had a long drive from the alps. what we found was a a gem of a place. Facilities not always perfect but incredibly helpful and friendly staff. And amazingly good food in the restaurant. Great choice and some good wine. Great buffet breakfast too. Very refreshed and nice end to our holiday.

Nothing important. The toilet seat slid sideways and we could only find one plug socket BUT we had a cheaper room this time. previous visits were better.

This is my second stay at the Hôtel De La Plage as my French launch spot for my second cycle ride from London to Italy. No problem to keep the bikes in the room. Good hairdryer to dry wet cycling kit. Excellent restaurant. Very friendly staff. Great value for money. Small bedroom but perfect for two tired cyclists with bikes for one night. Easy ride from the ferry after being personally guided out of the port area, and after riding 111 miles on the UK side of the channel. A good and would stay here again.

The rooms are quite small but I already knew that so a friendly welcome, a good shower and good food and breakast in a good location were the priorities.

On arriving at the hotel it smelt lovely and clean. I was greeted by a wonderful gentleman on the reception desk who was very friendly, welcoming and super helpful. Our room was nice and clean and also smelt very nice, the same applies to the bathroom/shower as well. There was a kettle and tea/coffee as well as some chocolates in the room which was a nice touch. The bed was very comfortable and the rooms/hotel was quiet. We ate in the hotel restaurant and the meal was lovely as was the wine. The same gentleman on who greeted us on arrival found us a table and even ensured we had room for our dog in the restaurant (she was in her buggy). Dogs are welcome in the restaurant which is fantastic. The restaurant staff are all very helpful and cheerful too, they seem like a good team! The hotel has a good amount of parking and is very close to the beach too. The promenade has had a huge amount of money spent on it and it is a great place to spend some time. There is no lift but the stairs are only short and for us it wasn't an issue. We were able to park directly below our room which was great.

An extra toilet roll in the bathroom as the one in our room had already been started so it wasn't a full roll. Some hand wash in the bathroom would be ideal too, but other than that everything was superb!

Great location if you wanted to be near the beach...which we did. Its meters away. Close enough to the restaurant area of Calais. Easy to get to. Masses of parking. One night we ate in the restaurant and the food was good and certainly comparable to other places in Calais. Very friendly and helpful staff. All good and will go back.

Small gripe. Please not paper cups in the rooms. Plastic or ceramic ....please... That's about it.

This was a return visit as we had enjoyed staying here last year. Simple but perfectly adequate ensuite room with a comfortable bed. Car parking space immediately outside so extremely convenient. Friendly, helpful reception staff. A traditional French seaside hotel ambience. Large and very popular restaurant with a good menu. Located right on Calais Plage with fabulous views of a dramatic sunset.

The technology was on the blink at this and neighbouring hotels so the TV didn't work. The restaurant was very busy so service was a little slow with some waiting staff much more helpful than others!

Beautiful place right by the beach, with safe walks for our dogs. Room is comfortable with a small bath, very relaxing. Friendly staff, great food, generous breakfast. Plenty of little place on the beach to have cocktails and admire the sunset. We really loved it here and the staff are so lovely, friendly, helpful and kind with our dogs too.

The back door, even though useful during the day, had to stay shut at night for obvious reasons and got really stuffy in the room as there is no windows or air conditioning. What we had in the room didn't seem to switch on.

Clean room. The electric kettle availble to prepare hot drinks (no mugs or cups provided). Good location (10 mins drive to eurotunnel) with noce view. Restaurant in building, so it's easy to eat something. Recepcionist bery nice and helpful.

We has a room just under stairs to another floor. We could hear every single person go up/down. Breakfast was very nice. However burgers meat was rare inside (I was not brave enough to eat rare mince). The Weiter didn't even asked if we are happy with our meal.

This was a really good hotel, which comfortably exceeded my expectations and where I would be happy to stay again. The dinner in the evening and breakfast in the morning were exceptional (and excellent value for money). I have two dogs, so having the beach on the doorstep was an added bonus (though would have been less so in summer, when dogs aren't allowed on the beach). Although only 8 km from the Tunnel and right next to the ferry port, the area was very quiet (and the hotel was also close to what must have been one of the cheapest fuel stations in France!). Staff were helpful, friendly and efficient,,and the room was huge!

We spent two nights here; one on our outward journey and one on our return. My room on the first occasion was a bit shabby (hook missing in the bathroom) and on the second was a ground-floor room with a door giving access to the car park. This was fine for loading/unloading, but there was no other form of ventilation , other than leaving the door open - not something I'd like to do at night! It wasn't too much of a problem in October, but would have been uncomfortably hot in summer, especially the most recent one (I didn't see any form of air-conditioning).

The seafront location was great and we walked into the centre of Calais easily from the hotel. We booked breakfast when we arrived and a table for the evening as well. Both meals were very good value for money and there was a good selection for both the evening menu and breakfast. The free wifi was excellent and we streamed a film to our laptop with now break up of signal at all. Overall we were impressed for the price!

A bit more sound proofing would be good but wasn't a huge issue and blackout curtains would be good as the current ones are very thin and in the summer it would be hard to sleep in the lighter mornings.
