Séjours & Affaires Caen Le Clos Beaumois

The reception lady was very kind and helpful. Our room was very clean and spacious with plenty of storage space. The bathroom was very clean with towels and free toiletries. The beds were very comfortable. The kitchenette in the room was very well equipped (fridge, cutlery, plates, glasses, saucepans, kettle, microwave, electric rings, washing up liquid, tea-towel and sponge). The aparthotel is walking distance from the centre of Caen (about 10/15 minutes), but there are bus stops nearby. One of the buses which passes near the aparthotel is number 12 which comes/goes to Ouistreham for the ferry to the United Kingdom. There is plenty of parking spaces as well. Highly recommended.

When I booked the room through Booking.com, I specifically asked for a twin bedroom and this was approved. When we got there, however, the bedroom which was allocated to us had a double bed. The receptionist was very helpful and as the cleaning staff was still on the premises, the double bed was separated to create two single beds. Considering that our floor was quite empty, it was strange that there were not more twin rooms available. If we had arrived after closing time and the cleaning staff were not there, we would have ended up with a double bed for a night or two. Not everybody who travels is a couple, so please more twin rooms. This is not a complaint, but a suggestion to the management of the company.

After a long days journey from the Exeter district the proximity of the accommodation to the Ferry Port was most welcome and we were very happy with the appartment which was fully equipped with kitchen facilities should we have needed to eat anything substantial. We were met by the night staff and given information about the direction to our room. The day staff were very pleasant and welcoming too. We will be using thios facility again when we next have to travel to the West Country.

The only slight down was that our boat was one hour late and consequently it was around 11pm and very dark when we arrived in a street with very similar groups of appartment buildings. Though there were not many peopl around we were directed to the Clos by a group of young men who had just arrived. home. We would have found the Clos but a slightly more obvious , perhaps illuminated sign might help other late arrivals. The entry board number pad was 'iffy' and only worked when it wanted to!

Reception staff very friendly and helpful. I tried my little french but they were really good at communicating with us in English. Lady on desk kept apologising for her English but was so much better than my french and we understood exactly what she meant

The only slight downside was the loo in accessible room. The bathroom itself was great and had plenty of room but the toilet was situated so the wall was very close infront of it. It may seem funny but I have a fused leg ( doesn’t bend at the knee) and I literally couldn’t sit forward facing on the toilet. I had to sit at an angle. I know this is probably a rare problem but a lot of disabled may need room for someone to help them so it is worth bearing in mind.

As we checked in on a Sunday the reception was closed which was a problem for us as we didn’t have a phone that worked to call the number on the notice stuck on the reception door. We had to ask a passer by to borrow their phone to call the number. The passer by was very helpful, thankfully, so we were able to talk to the person that was responsible for the keys and he told us over the phone where they were. This was stressful. It would be better if the information of how to enter the accommodation was sent in an e mail, rather than expect the traveler to have a phone.

The room was spacious, the bed was comfortable including the pillows. Nice walk in shower. The kitchen area was very clean and the crockery, saucepans etc were of good quality. Visiting our daughter in a nearby hospital made the Sejours & Affaires in an ideal location for our needs. There's a boulangerie and a Proxy superette just round the corner.

the room was great especially for a long stay. loved that the had laundry facilities. Breakfast is basic.

it’s not close to the central part of town. there is a store close by. always check the times of both stores and restaurants. most restaurants don’t serve dinner till 7p

A very warm welcome awaits. Secure parking at €3 per day. Very clean room and comfortable bed. An added bonus was that the hotel had a laundry room which we took advantage of. 20 minutes walk takes you to the old town where you will find excellent restaurants. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Nothing everything was perfect

It was central and the room was very comfortable and clean with good storage.

The staff were friendly on the phone, but not so friendly in person on arrival. Getting access to the room relied on receiving a text message which didn't arrive until after we had checked in - luckily we phoned ahead the day before leaving so there was no problem. It was just a bit impersonal.

It was very clean, good value for money and great location for the port to catch our ferry the following day.

I requested a cot in the room for my 4 month old baby, they unfortunately forgot to put it in the room and we checked in on a Sunday when the reception was closed. There was no-one to call to try and get a cot for him so we had to make for him on the sofa with cushions. Not ideal. The staff were very apologetic and offered us free parking and our pet in the room for free too.

The staff were very helpful when our group arrived giving us maps of Caen and explaining about the taxe de sejour. It was a bank holiday weekend so we really didn’t see anyone again but we expected that so it didn’t matter. The hotel was spotless, the water always hot and the beds very comfortable. TBH you don’t need much else
