Hotel Du Chateau

We loved our 2 night stay here. The hotel was close to the centre of Caen, the Chateau and the port. There were plenty of bars and restaurants on the doorstep and the hotel was right next to the Sunday market by the port. The room had been recently painted and refurbished. We asked for a parking space at the rear of the hotel and this was great and very reasonably priced. The breakfast was adequate and the staff were really friendly. We have recommended Hotel du Chateau to all our family and friends.

What a lovely hotel! Lovely staff who were so helpful, even when we had to change some plans abruptly, they did everything they could to help us. The location is absolutely perfect too. If you're staying in Caen for a break, this hotel is just perfect!

very friendly staff, nice modern boutique hotel right in the middle of the city

it seems like a nice upmarket location, however theres a kebab shop across the road, late on a Saturday night up to 0400 it was wicket noisy with weekend revellers wanting to fuel up after the munchies. such a shame, it was 24+ Centigrade, had to have windows open, no AirCon. kinda unavoidable unless the management install AirCon

Easy to find but you have to park in streets around from the hotel - that was easy. Typical French mid-range hotel but excellent for all that. Stylish facade. Very welcoming. Very clean with modern fitments and a lift to all floors. Adequately spacious room with excellent bed. small shower room with good shower. Able to open window for cool air. Nearby café/bars and restaurants. Caen is very nice. Excellent value for money.

The hotel is in the perfect location for town. We did have to cut our trip short however, the staff were very helpful ( I wish I could remember the lady’s name behind reception) she was absolutely amazing. Couldn’t thank her enough

We loved staying at Hotel du Chateau. I cannot fault one aspect of the experience. The staff were attentive and responsive even before we arrived as I had a couple of questions. The location is perfect for restaurants, bars, shopping and you can walk to the main historic attractions. The hotel is immaculate, friendly, easy to access and straightforward. Nothing complex.

Excellent, spacious and clean quadruple room. Very friendly and helpful staff. We then wanted to stay another night and ended up with 2 small doubles on 5th floor. Not nearly as good an experience. Sliding door to one of the bathrooms so limited privacy, shower head and soap dispenser needed sorting out.

Small shower and bathroom (no bathtub although the listing says so). Very basic breakfast, probably better to eat one in a cafe around.

Central location, comfortable room and bed and good breakfast. Secure storage for bikes in locked garage and very helpful receptionist.

Due to the heat had to have windows open which on a Saturday night was noisy. A room on a higher floor would have helped.
