Mama Shelter Prague

I chose this hotel due to its location close to Vystaviste areal - within 5mins walk. Took 40mins to get from the airport to the hotel (bus 119 and then tram 26). Check in fast, Mamma medium room was sort of smallish and looked like a fancy version of my student accomodation. Aircon didn't work properly but when I raises this issue it was immediately fixed by their technician.

Desorganized bar staff - everything took ages and some of them had no clue how to do an espresso etc.

Location, interior design and cleanliness. They reserved for us a room with city view.

Breakfast options can be developed. Most of them are sweet. There were only two options for cheese and on of them were staying with pork products and it was served with the same serving spoon. Also egg service options must be more customer friendly. Hot water is needed in the rooms.

Our stay was very pleasant - starting from a smooth check-in and ending with a leisurely check-out (as it can be done until noon not 10:00 as in most places). The room was on the smaller side but still comfortable. Sound isolation is good, everything was squeaky clean. I particularly appreciated the proper hairdryer. Breakfast was very good with plenty of vegetarian options. Location - at a lovely neighbourhood, away from the bustle of the main sights (yet with the wonderful National Gallery right next door).

Everything was great! Water boiler and a coffee maker in the room would have been excellent.

Staff Barbora Labova at the front desk and Nora Nemeckova head of housekeeping went absolutely above and beyond to get my laundry cleaned in a few hours -- because my luggage had been lost for days and I my wife and I were attending an opera that night. Even though they could have just said, "No. Hotel policy," Barbora especially showed a level of kindness and customer service I almost never see in my travels. Funny how one act of kindness can make your entire stay fantastic.

The truth is just about everything is perfect at Mama Shelter, especially when you consider the price. This hotel is not meant to be the Four Seasons, but providing great service, comfortable rooms and in-house food options, together with it's Letna location -- convenient to the center but quiet -- make it ideal.

I only stayed one evening, but I really liked the unique atmosphere of this hotel. The staff was incredibly friendly, the ambience of the place was homey, fun, but still somehow chic. There was a great outdoor and indoor bar, a DJ was playing music, and this all created a very fun and inviting environment. My room was also very nice. The bed was super comfortable and the lighting was really good.

Although you can walk or very easily grab a tram, the location is over the river and tiny bit out of the main area of Prague. But, this is really not a big deal since it is still quite close together.

The stunning view at night and when you wake up in the morning! The view from my room was amazing!😍 the front desk were friendly and they also provided me with my dog bowl which is I forgot to bring a bowl for water. It was nice of them to offered that upon arrival. It was convenient with restaurant options near the hotel. And the parking is absolutely convenient which is in the front of the hotel. 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼my request was granted which is the corner room and higher floor that was a plus!

The room was tiny but it’s fine.we were only there to sleep for a night. The bathroom is very tiny as well. The lighting in the room is too dim. The parking though it’s not that much space. I wish there is more parking spaces available.

I recently stayed at Mama Shelter Prague and I have to say, it exceeded all of my expectations. The location was perfect, situated in the heart of the city with easy access to all of the main attractions. The hotel itself was beautiful, with cool decor and comfortable rooms. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, always going above and beyond to ensure that our stay was enjoyable. Overall, I would highly recommend Mama Shelter to anyone looking for amazing stay in the city. It was a wonderful experience and I can't wait to go back.

I have stayed here a couple of times and I keep coming back. The greatest asset of the hotel are its staff. They are very friendly and helpful, from the front desk to the people working in the bar. I like the setup and the big windows. Beds are very comfy and towels fluffy. it’s very clean too. I appreciate the efforts (cost saving and good for the environment) of not providing toothbrushes or body lotion. Shampoo is an organic soapbar that does the job.

Management could improve the central heating/cooling system. In the middle of the winter it was impossible to get my room on the 9th floor cooler than 23 degrees. Opening a window did not help at all (after 4 hours it was 22.8). after asking the staff moved me to a lower floor where it was much better. At a 4* hotel one should be able to adjust the room temperature on one’s own.

Breakfast - dirty tables, scrambled eggs from powder, the only real eggs were to cook by yourself and the maschine for that didnt work, waiter refused to get me a real egg from the kitchen.. When the plates in breakfast buffet were almost empty, last 45mins before end of the breakfast they didnt refill them or even clean them away, was looking unpleasant. After asking a waiter to clean the table, he checked from the side where exactly it could be dirty and made a “spot” cleaning, which didnt help anything. All of them were looking disgusting.

This was my second stay here. The hotel has a convenient location (still within a walking distance to the city centre). Also, it is very quiet. the rooms are clean and comfy. I am in Prague very often ( not as a tourist) so I don’t need to stay in the old town which is full of annoying tourists anyway :-)

The staff in the restaurant/bar is not great. Very slow, not very friendly/enthusiastic and not very attentive either (I ordered one thing and after a long time of waiting I got served something different). Also, the breakfast has got a slightly worse (since my last visit). Also, I would recommend serving breakfast at the weekends a little bit longer (at least until 11am).
