Hotel Pacande B&B0

It’s a perfect hotel to get to and from the Airport. We landed late at night and getting a taxi at the airport was very difficult and Expensive. I was able to use Uber in the end, but it took the best part of an hour of sitting outside trying to use the free airport wifi. I’d recommend using the taxi service provided by the hotel. $15 is the same price I was being quoted by the taxi operators at the airport, only no one wanted to take the job, I don’t know why. The breakfast was traditionally prepared, rice, black beans, plantain and eggs. Really good Costa Rican fare. The staff were very helpful, helping me organise a local SIM card.

Breakfast was made for me by my Costa Rican hosts in another San Jose neighborhood with shops, restaurants and this great Tico life. The hotel has a courtyard and the street noise disappeared for me in my room. I was safe, had a hot shower and a hearty meal before going to the airport. It couldn't have went better.

This was my fourth San Jose neighborhood in 6 months and the most commercial. I didn't like the traffic but who does?

An affordable, convenient local spot to spend the night close to the airport. Several local attractions and dining options in walking distance. I stayed there with my family, and found it very family friendly.

Parking could have been an issue, but we were able to park in front of the street-side entrance of the establishment. Accommodations were simple, with no AC or other frills. No issue for us, but worth mentioning.

Very close to the airport and lot of options for eating and shopping. Nice park and playground nearby to relax. Kind and helpful staff.

We had a room with a large window facing the gallery. The lamp goes on with a manual switch and other guests, who were not bothered by this, left the lamp on in the hallway several times which made me have to get out of bed several times. I recommend an automatic switch for future guests.

Lovely room and breakfast. As this was a stop over but near airport. Alajuela is a bit run down but made welcome by staff especially son who had vey good English & who advised us where to go.

No card reader available so paid through q code, did not feel secure. Asked for a pick through hotel from airport, after waiting 2hours, texting etc no lift arrived so had to make own way to Hotel

The hotel is very conveniently located close to the main bus terminal and some shops and restaurants. Good selection if you have a flight next day or you want to rest after a long flight. The owners are very friendly and helpful. Most of all I liked the kitchen - very cozy and well-equipped. My room was totally ok for 1-2 nights. Quiet and tidy. WiFi worked well. The shared showers were clean.

The front door is locked between 11pm and 6am, so you need to arrange in advance if you have a taxi waiting outside at 5am. It is not possible to open the door from the inside without a key, so you have to wake up the personnel if they forgot to open the door as agreed.

Very convenient location for an overnight stay after a late night flight - right in the middle of Alajuela, less than 10min from the San Jose airport. Room was fairly spacious. Good gallo pinto (traditional Costa Rican) breakfast at the back of the property in an open-air space. Staff were friendly and kind, with good communication via WhatsApp. Overall good value for money - a very affordable option for a quick stop in the area.

Walls were very thin - could hear everything and everyone passing by in the hallway. Basic facilities in the room, no frills but it does the job.

Fabian was extremely helpful in arranging transport for us. Many thanks. Breakfast was great in the little garden in the back. It was very nice to go for a walk in the morning to the park nearby.

There was really nothing that comes to mind that I did not like. The accommodations are simple and the bed was comfortable, the bath was clean.

We arrived after midnight after missing a flight. The staff were happy to check us in so late after we contacted them beforehand. We felt very welcome and appreciative. It's a short taxi from the airport to this location and the prices are good.

The beds weren't the most comfortable, but I can't complain at the price point.

it was very clean and the lady at the reception was extremely nice! She even arranged the taxi to the airport for us! The b&b was very close to the airport!

The streets seemed dangerous during the night (around 10pm), but we left at 3 am to the airport and the streets were empty at that time.
