AC Hotel By Marriott Santa Marta

This is the second consecutive year that we've spent the holidays at AC Hotel. The hotel is clean and modern. The location is great, safely walkable to Parque de los Novios with plenty of local food and entertainment. More importantly, Jonathan and his staff are attentive, kind, and professional. Quite frankly, they are the main reason we go back every year in addition to the facilities and location. We look forward to our next stay with our new AC Hotel "family" later this year.

Rooms are smaller than here in the States.

It is what you would expect of a Marriott, great service, super comfortable beds, extremely nice pool area. Extremely clean , great views from room and 3 blocks from main park and steps away from the Marina where all tours to Tayrona sail from.

A/C had a weird noise, we asked twice for additional toiletries and they never arrived. Bathroom is weird, but good water pressure

I loved the cleanliness of the whole property and room. The staff was super friendly and helpful. We arrived early before our checkin and they offered to store our luggage while we waited for our room to be ready and ate lunch. The staff also helped us book safe taxis to get around the city. The amenities were also fantastic! My husband and I will absolutely come back to the AC Hotel next time we’re in Santa Marta.

The only negative thing I have to say about the property are the drinks at the bar. My husband and I ordered frozen margaritas and unfortunately these were the worst margaritas we have ever had. No alcohol or flavor. Tasted just like water. We had to order shots and ginger ale separately to make our own drinks.

Very helpful and attentive staff - were also able to help/accommodate an early check in after a long flight! Location was also easy for walking into town and close to the beach.

It would be helpful to have parasols (or similar) by the pool to offer shade, as there was not much shaded areas to relax by the pool/outside

The food in the restaurant is very good with lots of choice. The front desk service and pool area service was excellent. As for location, for those who want to take boat trips and know the historic center the hotel is very well located. The facilities and room were clean and we had an excellent stay.

The breakfast could be improving if they put more variety in the buffet, but everything was fresh, the fruits were very good and the food part tasty. Although the food in the restaurant is excellent, the only observation is that is not served very quickly.

Great location near the marina and close to nice restaurants. The hotel was clean and service was great throughout our stay.

The check in area was a bit crowded. The staff did great but there isn't enough space for all people checking in and out.

One of the better hotels in Santa Marta. Well priced for a town you might only stay in 2-3 nights at most to explore Minca and the Parque Tayrona. Our first room was the basic one, which has a very strange layout and quite small. Bathroom is "deconstructed" with the shower entered straight from the bed area. We upgraded the next day to the opposite side of the hall with a balcony and it was a HUGE difference. Nice views, much larger room and more comfortable. We also were moved up to the 19th floor. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast has good selection and excellent coffee. Nice grocery 2 minutes away. We were not fans of Santa Marta, but certainly would choose this hotel again if we came here.

Small things were not very functional -- water tap in the shower was hard to move/adjust, sink is quite shallow and doesn't drain very well. And the tap water is not drinkable, so you either have to buy bottled water in the grocery or use the hotel "water stations", which are only on 3 floors (of around 15 total). All small inconveniences only.

Location, kindness of staff

The design of bathrooms, total lack of privacy with doors that can't be locked.Toilet, sink and shower should be in the same chamber.

Good location, friendly English speaking staff, comfortable bed, everything you need

Booking.com States you have a balcony but you do not, not just here at the Marriott, many hotels say they have a balcony but do not

A great hotel: reception were very informative and happy to help, the swimming pool and restaurant were very nice (you could borrow beach towels), the travel desk can give you information and help you book day trips and excursions. The room was spacious with a nice balcony from which you could see the sunset over the beach.

Nothing that stood out as bad.
