Hotel Dann Carlton Belfort Medellin

Was a large Jr Suite room with a nice shower. We were greeted at the front entrance as we checked in, where the chief bellman secured our luggage, and directed us upstairs two floors to the front desk, and from that point on everyone staff was absolutely wonderful. We had dealings with the Front Desk, Bell man, Maid, Bartender, Waitstaff, and without exception they were all friendly, and very capable, The building was very clean. Nice pool and gym down below. Breakfast was excellent, nice presentation, fresh, and we were well cared for. Although ALL the staff that we encountered were very nice, the head Bellman really stood out; he was from Caldas, not far away, and he always had good advice for us as we awaited a cab when sightseeing. We will return.

The hotel is literally built into the side of a mountain, so getting around was a bit tricky. As I mentioned the entrance was two floors below the main desk, the gym was one floor below the pool, and walking down the driveway or anywhere around the area is pretty steep. Outdoor hot tub could be a bit warmer, pls.

Very clean & comfortable room. Security box & refrigerator in room.Nice refreshing swimming pool. Buffet breakfast was ok but not as nicely done as pre-pandemic.

Half the staff had no clue about proper mask use and had them below there nose & on chin. Very disappointing to see in 5 star hotel.

Location is very good. Everywhere just 5 to 10 minutes away. Breakfast very good and every day is different. Bellman Juan Carlos very attentive. Unfortunately, I dont know the names of the servers during breakfast. But all of them very outgoing and ready to serve you. Housekeeping, top of noch. I don't know the name but she was always there and ready to go extra miles. Thanks for the wonderful stay, team Belfort.

I.will say, the amenity. Staying 9 nights at your hotel, it wasn't neccessary to charge me 4 bottles of water and 1 soda.

Everything. The location and the staff. The location was perfect, quiet, peaceful, and close by the restaurants. The staff was extraordinary: Housekeeper was sweet, and everything requested got it in a moment. Bell staff was the best; Walter gave best recommendations and went above and beyond to make it happen, he'sa diamond! A keeper!. Leonardo gave all the information asked and tips. Food & beverage was extraordinary. In the morning we had Luis helping us and the staff behind the counter were attentive to make sure everything is going well. The royals during the night made it happen, magical. Got the best margaritas from Cesar! Thank you Cesar, you made my day! And Guillermos, Alexander, Johan were amazing. Thank you for the birthday dessert!

Finishing touch of engineering/maintenance in the room. There were renovations going on in hotel but there were signs about it and it didn't bother at all.

I loved the location. Quiet but close to restaurants. I fell in love with the staff, so friendly and ready to help with everything. Walter stood out for sure everythingi asked he made it happen and better than expected. Walter is diamond of the hotel. Leonardo too. Housekeeper was nice and everything I requested was brought to room immediately. The royal crew of food and beverage was extraordinary! Cesar made the best margaritas and is a superstar! I enjoyed every moment i could and Guillermos, Alexander, Johan, Luis (in the morning) were the nicest. The food and beverage staff in the morning was nice as well. Food & beverage back of the house, thank you for my surprise birthday dessert! Thank you Walter, Cesar & Leonardo! This is an unforgettable birthday! I'll come back for sure.

What engineering/maintenance can work on are the finishing details of the room. There were renovations but personally not bothered at all by that.

Overall, very nice hotel in a good location in the Poblado neighbourhood. Walking distance to the Manila district, where many restaurants are located. But also the restaurant inside the hotel is good value for money. Staff was friendly and always in for a little joke or a brief conversation. Although there were some renovations going on, I never felt disturbed by those.

Workout area did not live up to its expectations. The photo published of this room does not represent reality in my opinion. But that is really all I have to "complain" about.

The staff at this property are all great! They all go above and beyond to make your stay comfortable. Does not have many installations like the other Dann Carlton (Medellion), but for being a smaller hotel, it was great. The room and the room services was great. Services in general was really good!!!

Some people at the lobby desk were not that welcoming, just for that reason i'll might never comeback to this Dann Carlton property.

Great breakfast, continental and Colombian food. Very friendly personnel: reception, cleaning lady, restaurant. The room is great, very good bed, bathroom a bit small but quite OK. They are renovating the hotel at the moment, the Jacuzzi was out of order, but when it is back in business, it is a great place!

The hotel is a little bit away from stores and restaurants. It is on a very steep hill, so walking can be a challenge (though good for your condition :) )

Hotel was very clean and close to the things in the city. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

That the hotel didn't allow for friends to come up to the room to visit. If so you had to pay 25 dollars per person. I had a suite with a living room, so I could actually sit down and talk with friends. But instead we had to sit outside and talk. Also they didn't have a lobby you could set in and visit as a option either.

Nice large firm bed, excellent breakfast starting from very early morning at 6 am! Nice swimming pool.

There is no coffee/tea maker in the room. Staff are 'acceptable', not particularly nice, kind, or polite. Pay attention to booking.com price terms that you get. Mine was apparently before taxes so I was a bit surprised when I see the bill that was 25% more than my booking price. No wonder the online booking.com price was lower than other comparable hotels in the neighborhood.
