The Metcalfe by Gray Collection

The room was nice, spacious and comfortable. It was serviced daily which was appreciated. The location is away from (but close enough to walk to) the main touristy area which was a definite bonus for us. The staff were very helpful indeed and seemed genuinely pleased to assist. The valet parking was a bit pricey – but the car was returned promptly and without any problem. So a plus again rather than having to park in an open public parking lot.

Only a very minor point - the gym was not yet upadated to the promised "state-of-the art" yet - once that is done there will be nothing at all to complain about.

We booked a superior room with two queens which was spacious and comfortable. Air con worked well. Curtains didn't allow light through so we slept well. We arrived late and left early so didn't use any facilities or have breakfast.

Only valet parking for $42 which I don't like. I had to park out front on a busy street and run in to find this out since the site I booked on said there was a parking garage. I was then told about public parking nearby. It would have been much easier to have known about this before I arrived. City Hall underground parking was excellent and very reasonable, and about 5 mins walk from the hotel. I thought the cost of the hotel (I paid around $450 for one night) was too high, especially as it didn't even include breakfast.

The hotel's design is very chic and the personnel was very professional. The bed was very comfortable and the toiletries were great, also the mini bar set-up looked very complete which is appreciated. Hotel's location is also very good.

The rooms have very poor insulation for sound and you could hear all the noise from people passing by the room's corridor. The AC was very load and level 1 wasn't working, so at night it was either leave it on Level 2 (with a lot of noise and air) or turned off. I travelled during summer and that wasn't really an option since the room would get too warm too quickly.

the location is really convenient, close to all attractions. Facilities are new and nice, very modern. They have valet parking even though it is a bit pricy. I was surprised to find out that they use Le Labo for vanity products! My favourite perfume brand! All in all, worth the price in the centre of the capital city of Canada. The room is very clean and comfy to stay in.

Could have had two Valet parking worker to deliver cars to decrease the wait time.

Super stylish and a great bistro on ground floor. Location, cost, staff, room, but especially the design and decor, was all around a great experience. Centrally located and close to destinations and transit.

Advance hold of $150 per night made no sense to me, but then it turned out there are extra charges, which is OK and keeps cost down if you don’t need parking and bar snacks. Functional wifi cost $10 per day; luckily I could tether my phone.

The design and comfort were outstanding, above average in Canada. It is more of a European boutique hotel style. Staff is courteous and responsive. Complementary water bottles was offered when we left the premises. We liked everything of this hotel.

Time for breakfast is too short like in other hotels in Canada and USA. I don’t understand and don’t share this policy. Breakfast in such hotels should remain available longer.

The staff is super friendly and helpful. Great concierge services. We loved the large gym room where our boys could play basketball (!) and table tennis. Very family-friendly hotel. We liked the personal and attentive attitude towards the guests. Very knowledgeable sommelier in the restaurant/bar.

Valet parking is expensive; not unusual for a larger city, though.

Really everything. The hotel is beautiful and romantic. Room was great, and well appointed. The bathroom was amazing. The bed was very comfortable. All the staff are friendly and willing to help. The food at the restaurant is great. A wonderful experience. Instagram worthy. A 5 star hotel. This will be my go to hotel when going to Ottawa from now on

This is so minor. I wish the water pressure in the bathroom showers were higher.

Despite only spending a single night at this wonderful hotel, I had the pleasure of staying at this wonderful hotel recently, and I couldn’t be more impressed with the outstanding service provided by the reception staff. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm smiles and a genuine willingness to assist. And a special message to my friend : شكرا جزيلا 😁

Clean, comfortable, great lobby, nice gym

The showers are weak. The front desk receptionist did not mention a charge for parking at check-in when they explained they must park the car in order to use the hotel lot. The valet caught this and told me it was $17 before taking the keys. Turns out it was $46 for one night.
