Hilton Garden Inn Ottawa Downtown

The Hotel was fabulous and very clean, the staff were very friendly and helpful, lovely restaurant with delicious food, parking was good with elevator into Hotel from parking lot. Location was perfect for walking to all the attractions, very central. All in all a great visit to Ottawa and a great Hotel.

Nothing to do with property but lots of building work going on in surrounding areas with some roads also closed, some visitors attractions also affected. Sure it will all be lovely in the future when it’s all finished, interesting place to visit with a lot of history, glad we went.

Great location. Close to everything and within walking distance to Parliament, the War Museum, etc. This is my 2nd time staying here. The bed was most comfy, the lobby immaculate, and the staff friendly. Even the parking is great.

Booked through Booking.com. Called the night before and added a night through the hotel itself. MAJOR CONFUSION AND STRESS. Use one or the other, but do not combine Booking.com with a direct call to hotel reservations. However, once this was sorted out (it took 4 times) the rest of the stay was great. Also, please have staff promptly clean food up that other people are leaving outside their rooms. We saw several plates of half-devoured room service sitting outside doors in our hallway for quite a while. No matter how good the chef is, this does not make the house food appealing.

I would appreciate if someone could email me -kgsantsche@gmail.com, about my charges for a child who according to Hilton Garden Inn website states that children under 18 years of age stay for free.Our grandson is 15 years old and I booked with that information included.I was charged as 4 adults and not 3adults and a child as booked. I asked the Manager at Hilton Garden Inn in Ottawa and she said my booking was through a third party and I had to contact booking .com for reimbursement of the charges for our grandson as an adult. Facilities and amenities were up to date, modern and in good condition. High marks for Microwave and Fridge in the rooms. Also high marks for good quality toiletries (personal care products). Very good location with easy access to restaurants, shops, etc. Courteous and helpful staff. Meal (Caesar salad) from the in-house dining was really good too. Overall, I’m pleased with the experience.

Nothing in particular. There was Wifi malfunction for a few hours due to rainstorm but it was fixed and the hotel staff gave us complimentary breakfast vouchers for our trouble.

The room was very large, clean, modern. Lots of electrical plugs available. Furniture was comfortable. The restaurant on site was great. They have pet friendly rooms and reasonable pet fees. Convenient parking for a downtown location.

Overall, we had a great stay. The only real complaint we had was that it isn't a particularly child-friendly location. We had requested a crib if available at booking and followed up at check in - where we were told a crib would not fit in the room we had booked...when we entered the room we couldn't believe how large the room was. We set up our pack'n'play with ample room to walk around it; we've definitely had cribs provided at other hotels with much smaller rooms, so we're not sure why the request was an issue. Overall though, we would book there again.

The receptionist is very warm(She shold be a female employee of Indian origin)

We want to have at least two or three vegetables for breakfast. Hotels shold provide free parking for their guests.The room with long stay time should be equipped with the coresponding items,such as :coffee,paper,etc

The breakfast was great but it was very pricey. Try to get a deal where it is included. The restaurant Tulip was amazing! Food was excellent and prices were really competitive. You ate as if you were at a high end location but the prices were affordable. Service was amazing - our waiter Nathan was exceptional. Best service we’ve ever had at a restaurant. We ended up eating at Tulip three nights - two in person and once in room service. In person was much better than the room service. (Which was still good but presentation etc was better in the restaurant) overall this was probably one of the best Hilton Garden Inns we have ever stayed at and we have stayed at many.

Incentive to eat breakfast at hotel. It was excellent but really expensive.

The location was great, close enough to the market and the down town area, nice big rooms, comfy beds and very clean.

The layout of the hotel, room nrs are confusing and make no sense. The breakfast area is over crowded and there is nowhere to sit and have a beverage after 10am. Breakfast ends at 10 and all restaurant areas are completely closed till 11am, if you want a coffee between 10 and 11 its too bad for you, go drink the horrible coffee in your room or go to Tim Hortons down the road

The sportsbar downstairs had last call before 10 pm on Saturday night, the night of a big playoff game. This seemed strange. (It may have been a staffing issue because everywhere hotels are having staffing issues.) But we wanted an after-dinner drink while watching the game and could not do it. This is a minor issue though, as you can easily do without a drink or bring your own.

Very clean and welcoming, comfortable bed, amazing location. You can safely store bags away even before your check-in time, which makes it ideal for short city trips. Staff was lovely. Very nice bathroom supplies provided.

Toilet tank wasn’t completely refilling after flushing, but we only stayed for one night; so it was alright. There was no AC in the bathroom.
