Stone Gate Inn

Room was clean, air was fresh at a good temperature (not overly cold as in other hotels), newly decorated and furnished, very comfortable extra large bed. kitchenette, tub and shower. Air conditioner/heater unit worked very well, quiet hum. As an aside, many other hotels seem to be eliminating bath tubs in favour of showers only which is disappointing but that was not the case here. This hotel accommodated my wife and I and our bikes as we were traveling the Simcoe Loop Trail staying over in Orillia. Location is near the cycling paths coming through town and along the lakeshore.

Wifi service was not reliable - worked sometimes. This was more troublesome in that the cellular service at our room location was also weak. This made it difficult to organize our travel plans .

Room was very clean and spacious, and the bed was one of the most comfortable and freshest-smelling sheets I’ve ever slept on. Complementary continental breakfast was great, and surprisingly included scrambled eggs and even a make-your-own waffle machine.

Wifi was spotty in the room and I ended up using my cellphone hotspot to get internet on my iPad. I really wanted a cup of coffee after a long drive to the hotel but there was no creamer (powder or liquid) provided with the Keurig coffee machine in the room; ended up going to a Tim Horton’s drive-through just 2 minutes down the road.

The staff were so friendly and helpful. The breakfast that was included in our rate was great -- even a waffle maker to make our own waffles fresh! The room was large and comfortable; even the bathroom was big. The water pressure was good. The beds were comfortable. The hotel was easy to find and had enough parking.

The deadbolt on our door couldn't lock because the door hung slightly off kilter on its doorjamb. Of course the doorknob still locked automatically, but I prefer to keep the deadbolt locked too, and was concerned that it couldn't lock. There wasn't even a swinging lock above to make the door only able to open a couple inches, which is unusual in a hotel. Also, the TV wouldn't work, and when we tried to call the front desk, we couldn't figure out how! No answer when we phoned on our cells, either. So those parts were disappointing, but honestly I would stay here again because everything else was great.

From the minute we walked in we were greeted by the front desk staff who also provided some excellent insights into local entertainment (Casino) and various options to get there and back. Our room was excellent very spacious, very clean, all amenities worked properly. Cleaning staff actually came by after only a few minutes of our checking in to make sure the room was to our satisfaction. Very impressive... and great value for the money.

I would have liked to see more hot options for the breakfast, however that really didn't take away from the overall experience.

Good Location, with ample parking. Close to the golf course, grocery store, and beer store. 6 mins away from other amenities. The Check-in clerk was friendly and clear on the terms. The deposit was refunded the same day. The evenings and morning clerk weren't as welcoming. Breakfast dining was full. The room was clean and well spacious.

The lobby was really nice. Room was large and provided more than we expected. The rooms were quiet. You did not here from other rooms. The check in staff were very nice and helpful. We requested an early check in and were granted that.

The bathtub did not drain equally with the water coming from the shower head. Your feet were in water throughout your shower. The beds came with a full pillow and a small pillow per person. Have 2 full pillows per person. There was no exhaust fan in the bathroom. A shuttle would have been nice considering the price of the room.

Room was comfortable, but remote batteries were dead. No hand towel, just 1 face cloth and 2 bath towels

Parking was crowded, bad parking on part of guest, but perhaps better marked spots would improve guest aim. Breakfast service was somewhat backed up, and OJ was watered down. I've always enjoyed Stonegate, but it felt like it was not the same gem, I remember, but overall, I would return, as I think it is a transitional issue. And previous stays have been awesome.

- no sugar or creamer in room to go with the coffee machine - lounge not open at night as advertised - had only powdered creamer for coffee at breakfast - not sure if there was wi-fi - no mention of it when we checked in, nothing in the room with the password and when I repeatedly tried to get hold of the front desk to ask, there was no answer

The hotel is really beautiful, the room was really nice . Bed was comfortable everything was clean

The breakfast was poor . Coffee was undrinkable , I added 5 creamers and 3 sugars, nothing made it taste ok,it was horrible. I had to throw it away. They only make a small amount of eggs and bacon , when we got there the room was full of people no one got any eggs or bacon because it was already gone.by 8.30. So if you want any get there at 7

Our family stayed in room 205 & 201 from June 24-26. 2022. The rooms had a seperate bedroom with king size comfy beds, then other half of the room has a sofa bed in the seating area and a great kitchenette. The room is perfect for a small family or a couple. Breakfast was good, staff are very friendly. Our granddaughters enjoyed the swimming pool, and the kitchenette was great to have to make them a quick lunch. We will definately be back!

I didn't like that our toilet was leaking, however, the gentleman on Duty was great, and came up immediately to deal with the issue as best as he could... Excellent staff here!
