Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites Orillia

Location along side friendliness of staff and how quiet the space was. There was a large group of children and we didn't hear them at all, beyond general front area noise. Room size was good for what we needed. Spouse is a blast furnace so the air conditioning worked well and was a wonderful addition. Lots of parking, and if we had more time we would have used the pool.

Bed and pillows both "very" soft. Due to how soft everything was it made the bed not as comfortable as it could of been, but was not " unsleepable". Missing a small mirror in the bathroom (make up mirror). Bathroom did not have a fan in it. Surprised there was no artwork on the walls, but know it was a small space. None of these are "deal" breakers but just noticed items.

Fantastic staff from the time I checked in to the moment I left. I will point out that I had a very nice hot steamy shower at like 830 am. When I was finishing I opened my bathroom door and couldn't believe I set off the smoke detector in my room. I was very impressed on how quickly the maintenance called my room first then was at my door to check in with me while in my towel faning the smoke detector lmao. Thank you for being so understanding in that matter was one I'll never forget. Just want to say job well done by everyone in the response time. Thanks I always enjoy my time at this property

The breakfast was not as good as the last time we were there. The eggs and bacon were not very warm. Breakfast was advertised to end at 9:30 am and we arrived both days at 9:00 am. Other food items were OK but the hot water for tea was lukewarm. The last time we were there the breakfast was really good and we arrived at about the same time (9 am). The room was a little cool and we couldn't get the edge off it. However we did not complain about this.

Everything else was good. The hotel is located in an area that looks like it is still to be developed, so the site feels a little like it is in a wilderness. However it has good access to Highway 11 and to the rest of Orillia.

The breakfast was exceptional. There was a good variety of hot and cold breakfast foods. The dining area was very clean and well-attended.

The washroom in our room had a shower and no bathtub: I had requested there be no bathtub but I had asked that the washroom facility should be accommodated. I was disappointed that there was only one handlebar in the shower area. Because I have balance/ mobility issues, three bars + on the walls of the shower stall would have been very helpful. This is the only thing that could have been improved with regard to our whole stay.

Location great, went there for baseball tournament. Clean welcoming rooms and great friendly and helpful staff.

Rooms were noisy. Heard everything that our neighbours were doing in their rooms and hallways, including washroom activity, kind of gross. I could be wrong, BUT I think the newer Holiday Inn Express hotels are built of wood frame construction (allowed now under Building Code). Does not offer the same quietness as a concrete and steel structure. But everyone is looking to cut costs these days...

The front desk clerk was super nice. He was very joyful! We got there a bit early, I had requested early check in if possible. Our room wasn't quite ready yet, but he got us in another one 😊 The breakfast had many choices. The cheese omelettes were very good!! The room was super clean and I loved the large shower. Lots of counter space in the bathroom, they had shampoo conditioner and body wash in the shower. There is also lots of free parking.

The bed was comfortable sitting and such, but in the morning both my husband and I woke up sore.. It may just be the wrong type of mattress for us, I'm sure others are fine sleeping on it.

The hotel was perfect for what we wanted. A clean and comfortable place to stay with family. Breakfast was great, the lobby was comfortable, rooms big and clean, and staff super nice. The only slight comment was that the pool was on the small side but really not an issue at all. The actual pool area was clean and lovely with large windows. We have family in orillia and will be staying again for sure.

I loved how modern the rooms and decor were. The same hotel in a larger city would be so much more expensive. The staff were also super friendly. I saw a manager wiping tables at breakfast and saying good morning to everyone. The free breakfast has everything from fresh waffles to granola and yogurt, lemon loaf, coffee etc. I stayed there Dec 28th, 2022 (folio # 81591).

Great room. Pleasant staff. Good location. Great free breakfast - A far cry from other places we've stayed at in Orillia. It's evident why they've been recognized by their community as top of class.

There was nothing. It really was a great location. We'll stay again when the opportunity .comes up. .

Excellent staff. They really make the stay. Nice location - close to everything, but quiet at night.

A very, very small point, but wish they had more towel rods or hooks to hang items in the bathroom. When you hang a wet towel on the little knobs they have, the towels aren’t open enough to dry as well, and since we’re trying to be environmentally conscious by reusing towels, it would be nice if they had a place to dry properly. As I said, a minor point in the overall picture.
